Episode 13 - bonus

Fear and Trembling 1 - The Unholy Bible - MÖRK BORG Podcast

Published on: 14th July, 2026

Wade through knee-deep drifts of pulverized bone and rusted iron. In this episode, Bellum and Vraehk trudge into a valley that is nothing but a necrotic gutter toward Mount Death. What begins as a quest for vengeance for the concubine Hagar spirals into an absolute, blood-drenched subversion of the divine.

Listen as our wretched anti-heroes dismantle a scapegoat pinned down by literal iron sins, reduce a cultist encampment to a raging grease-fire of human fat, and scale an obsidian void using a grappling hook and sheer desperation. At the summit, the sky rips wide. A cosmic abomination of intersecting, rusted iron wheels and thousands of frantically blinking eyes rejects the child Isaac and demands a new lamb.

The bomb is thrown. The dark blade is pried from the stone. But in the dying world of Mörk Borg, success is the ultimate curse. Bellum and Vraehk escape with wealth beyond measure—only to be dragged screaming into an unwanted, apocalyptic godhood where their every word is calcified into scripture and their followers mutilate themselves in their name.

Speaker:

I'm Nick and we are here playing Mork Borg and it is a scenario I wrote over the span of

four hours today and I hope it doesn't suck.

2

:

ah Yeah.

3

:

I'm here with Jimmy and Patrick who are rolling up characters right now.

4

:

Hello?

5

:

Thanks for running stuff at um four hours notice.

6

:

No, mean, yeah, I guess this morning eight hours notice, but yeah.

7

:

All right.

8

:

um Bellam and Vrac walk through a valley that's not a valley at all.

9

:

It's more like a gutter.

10

:

You wade through knee deep drifts, a pale pulverized bone and rusted, shattered iron from

a thousand failed pilgrimages.

11

:

And the air is stagnant and heavy smelling of pennies or old copper.

12

:

uh

13

:

Either side of the valley rises like a rib cage of a Leviathan into mountains, but only

one emits black smoke.

14

:

What's the mountain's name?

15

:

Hmm.

16

:

Hmm.

17

:

Mount death.

18

:

pretty lame.

19

:

Okay.

20

:

You see Mount Death on the horizon.

21

:

It's a sheer aggressive wall of necrotic basalt that violently blots out the sky behind

it, which is jaundice yellow because this world is dying.

22

:

The mountain doesn't just stand before you, it leans and it radiates a crushing localized

gravity.

23

:

If you had weapons, and I think you do, they would feel close approaching this mountain.

24

:

And you walk through this gutter.

25

:

What's your conversation like, Bellam and Vrak?

26

:

Well, you know, I got my hook whenever we summoned that horrible beast from our past.

27

:

It took my hand.

28

:

I, you know, I fought it.

29

:

Yeah.

30

:

poor.

31

:

Yeah.

32

:

I didn't really know him, but we were good friends.

33

:

He was, I was his best friend actually.

34

:

Uh, because one time, uh, you know, he needed a back scratch and I...

35

:

Well, it was right at the end, he, you know, I got the hook in the same event that he

died.

36

:

But I used my hook hand to...

37

:

I'm really leaning into the Never Shuts Up.

38

:

If you want to cut me off at some point, feel free.

39

:

right.

40

:

Well, at any rate, I bet he'd want us to get up to the mountain and finish this off.

41

:

Actually, yeah, I imagine our trek towards Mount Death is in fact a long one-sided

conversation.

42

:

Well, you know, there's just a lot of interesting things in the world.

43

:

Besides my hook, you know, I carry around my laboratory.

44

:

Do you want some potions?

45

:

I've only got two right now, ah but I can always make more ah if you want.

46

:

Oh, okay.

47

:

Okay.

48

:

Yeah, that sounds great.

49

:

What do you got today?

50

:

Uh, well, I've got number seven and number four, which I keep a list of my potions.

51

:

I'll have to look at the menu.

52

:

Well, one makes me feel better, but it's addictive.

53

:

And the other one makes me really angry and easy to hit.

54

:

I get clumsy.

55

:

I think neither of those right now.

56

:

Thank you.

57

:

uh Okay.

58

:

I mean, you can always stand to feel better.

59

:

In fact, I might take a hit of one right now.

60

:

No, I should wait.

61

:

It's early in the day.

62

:

It's, you know, that addiction for the healing one, it gets you sometimes.

63

:

ah

64

:

Want some chewing tobacco?

65

:

Yes.

66

:

I give him a really large wad of chewing tobacco and hope that it shuts him off.

67

:

Yeah, yeah, so you know, sometimes when I chew tobacco, if I chew too much, oh, okay, all

right.

68

:

Well, it makes my tummy hurt, but anyway.

69

:

Ha ha ha ha!

70

:

you're not smacking on disgusting chewing tobacco.

71

:

Okay, well you can barely hear a sound in the distance, a weeping sound it sounds like.

72

:

Now imagine you're in this valley that is, like I said, a gutter.

73

:

And in the distance you see not a village but a cluster of small buildings and this loud.

74

:

sobbing that is mixed with the whale is emitting from it.

75

:

I'm gonna be honest here, Nick.

76

:

My first instinct is to avoid that at all costs.

77

:

Mm-hmm.

78

:

Yeah.

79

:

give the uh whaling village a wide berth, but I understand that that might not.

80

:

be a functional choice.

81

:

Yeah, it's the wailing is an individual.

82

:

It's not like a cacophony.

83

:

Okay.

84

:

What could you steal from this sad figure, I wonder?

85

:

Sounds like maybe not much.

86

:

We rock up, I'm sure.

87

:

Brock, are you going too?

88

:

yeah.

89

:

Yeah, you crest over a small hill and through the wisp of bone white ash or dust or it

could even be old ancient bone crushed into the ground, you see a fire in the distance

90

:

that's smokeless and a hut behind it and some goats.

91

:

And sitting next to the fire, you see a hunched over figure crying.

92

:

And she's perfectly still, but you hear the sound.

93

:

Is she normal size?

94

:

Yes, it's a human-sized thing, so yeah.

95

:

Great question.

96

:

But yeah, you hear.

97

:

And she's unmoving?

98

:

Like statues still?

99

:

You're a little far away, but you can get closer and check that out.

100

:

Hey, hey Bellum, hold on, hold on.

101

:

Yeah, all right, all right.

102

:

Thanks for the tobacco.

103

:

It was just a lot of tobacco.

104

:

But at any rate, ah you know, I like to, you know, kind of trick people sometimes and just

being the kind of tricky guy I am.

105

:

You think this is a trick?

106

:

You think she's trying to lure us in?

107

:

She got her friends like behind a tree or something?

108

:

Yes.

109

:

Okay.

110

:

Or it's something not a people.

111

:

Yeah, Yeah, that uh

112

:

Bertrum or Bursum or whoever my best friend was, you know, so we can't digest yet.

113

:

Yeah, Belsum.

114

:

name, but with an S in the middle.

115

:

Oh yeah, yeah, he's kinda like a bell, but he's some bells.

116

:

Yeah, and it's...

117

:

Well, ah we can do one thing or we can do the other.

118

:

I guess maybe we engage on this quest.

119

:

Maybe it's, maybe we just shout from afar.

120

:

You guys can give me a presence roll.

121

:

Uh?

122

:

These are all D20s, right?

123

:

OK.

124

:

Oh.

125

:

Beautiful.

126

:

Yeah.

127

:

Bellum, as your paranoia gets the best of you and you start imagining this hut opening up

and biting you in half, there is this overwhelming sense of, I'm wrong.

128

:

Like you look even closer and she is...

129

:

start, you do see her shoulders slightly moving as she cries.

130

:

Her cloak is just massive.

131

:

It's like maybe a weighted blanket.

132

:

Maybe she has some anxiety.

133

:

I'm not sure, but you look at your surroundings and you've set ambush ups before and cut

plenty of throats in those ambushes.

134

:

There's not a lot of points other than the hut where anything would come out of.

135

:

You doubt that there's some sort of ambush.

136

:

Hehehehehe

137

:

What do you think, bud?

138

:

You getting a read on this?

139

:

I don't think she's a monster.

140

:

Okay, well, I'm gonna go check it out.

141

:

Hey, person or whatever you are.

142

:

from the ridge we're on?

143

:

Like, hey, lady!

144

:

Yeah, you can.

145

:

You do see the figure.

146

:

Yeah, perfect.

147

:

The lady, you see her sit up slowly and pull off a heavy cloak from her face.

148

:

Maybe it's even a blanket.

149

:

And her face from the distance is pale bone white.

150

:

You can't really see any, I guess, features, but the crying does stop and she...

151

:

You see her lips move and she's talking quietly, but you can't hear her.

152

:

YOU'RE TOO QUIET!

153

:

Yeah, you gotta speak up, we're far away!

154

:

Yeah, then you hear, leave me.

155

:

OKAY!

156

:

To my grief!

157

:

Okay

158

:

Yeah.

159

:

Are you...

160

:

Well, why you out here crying?

161

:

oh Do you care for

162

:

uh I don't know, she's here.

163

:

Maybe this is some kind of...

164

:

You know how in those old stories it's like an old man shows up on the side of the road on

a quest and you think the quest is where you're going but the quest was actually the old

165

:

man and you gotta help him.

166

:

Maybe this is one of those magic quests like that.

167

:

Well, put it being easy out and you know how lazy I am, so...

168

:

up and starts to stumble towards you and she walks with a hunch and kind of just, yeah,

again, stumbles forward and looks up and meets you eye to eye as she gets closer and

169

:

closer.

170

:

See, not a tongue.

171

:

Yeah.

172

:

Yeah.

173

:

You know, my dog here, Arby, he can go get him.

174

:

Hey, Arby, go check that woman out.

175

:

Are you sicking your dog on this lady?

176

:

No, not- I mean, he could if she gets violent, but I just want him to go get a closer look

and then come back and, you know.

177

:

What's your dog gonna tell you?

178

:

well you know, one bark for safe, two barks for dangerous.

179

:

you've got a whole system.

180

:

right.

181

:

Yeah, he's a train dog.

182

:

She walks, the dog runs up, bounds up to her and maybe it gets down on its haunches a

little bit.

183

:

And she just walks right by it as it's sniffing and her robe is dragging the dust.

184

:

The dog grabs the robe and starts jerking on it backwards, almost like playing tug of war

and playing, but she just powers through it and is pulling the dog with her as she charges

185

:

forward to you.

186

:

And are you letting her get right up to you or are you gonna do anything before she gets

to you?

187

:

Uh, hey lady, no that's close enough, you try saying the thing again.

188

:

Cause I...

189

:

I...

190

:

Yeah.

191

:

Yeah, as she's gotten closer, you see her skin is the textured of cured leather, which

isn't uncommon for this, for where you're at.

192

:

It's painted white with ash and there's black makeup highlighting her eyes.

193

:

And when she speaks, it sounds like a shovel dragging across stone.

194

:

And she stops when you tell her to stop, gets down on her knees.

195

:

and then holds out her arms to you like this.

196

:

And she says, can you bring me vengeance?

197

:

We're actually looking for some ourselves, I think, so maybe.

198

:

thought we were running from the puzzle box.

199

:

Are we vengeance-ing the puzzle box?

200

:

Well, the puzzle box was a long time ago.

201

:

I...

202

:

We haven't really determined our...

203

:

vengeance also.

204

:

Who are you venging?

205

:

My lover.

206

:

I was his concubine.

207

:

Will you give me vengeance?

208

:

Uh, yeah.

209

:

Fuck him.

210

:

you're right.

211

:

Yeah, she beckons you forward.

212

:

Peace.

213

:

princes and kings and whatnot get concubines.

214

:

You don't get to kill a king that often.

215

:

Oh shit, yeah that sounds pretty excellent actually.

216

:

If I could just hook a king right in the face, I'd show those rich fucking bastards.

217

:

And she

218

:

is he?

219

:

I do not approach.

220

:

She's making like weird little graspy hands.

221

:

I don't like that.

222

:

Do not approach.

223

:

Absolutely not, no.

224

:

Hee.

225

:

here, ma'am.

226

:

She points to the smoking top of the mountain, Mount Death, as you aptly named.

227

:

And when you get a closer look at it, you see there is a trail, almost like a pilgrimage

of sticks or timber something lining a road that heads to the top.

228

:

And she says, Ibram, he took my son.

229

:

And he means to kill him at the top of the mountain.

230

:

He was my baby, my only baby.

231

:

What's the baby's name?

232

:

YEEZEK

233

:

Hmm.

234

:

I don't understand how the concubine thing fits into all that.

235

:

The guy that you were concubineing took your son and he's gonna kill him on the mountain

is all you're telling me.

236

:

He thinks a god told him to sacrifice him and his whore wife.

237

:

encouraged him.

238

:

Yeah, she's probably jealous.

239

:

name?

240

:

My name is Hagar.

241

:

Jimmy, what do you know about Abraham and Isaac?

242

:

Uh, well, uh...

243

:

They're in the Bible.

244

:

And,

245

:

is a question for Jimmy, not for Vrac.

246

:

You

247

:

we're the same person here.

248

:

ah well, you know, uh, what?

249

:

There was some like inheritance and like some moms want people to like different people to

get the inheritance or whatever.

250

:

Am I thinking of the right thing?

251

:

No, I'm thinking of Jacob and Esau.

252

:

Yeah, I don't know.

253

:

You'll learn.

254

:

You please give me vengeance.

255

:

He means to take him to the mountain and cut his throat and burn him.

256

:

And he is my boy.

257

:

That whore Sarah will say that he is her, but she is barren of the womb.

258

:

Do not listen to her.

259

:

wait, it's coming back to me now.

260

:

Was he the one that was supposed to kill his son and then there was a goat?

261

:

Yeah, something like that.

262

:

You know, it's interesting, that story doesn't actually say that the sun came down from

the mountain.

263

:

It just says the dad came down from the mountain.

264

:

That's kinda weird, yeah?

265

:

Anyway, I'm sorry, what were you saying ma'am?

266

:

He carries a dagger that is touched and divine.

267

:

if you pry it from his dead hands, you can keep it.

268

:

And I'm sure that is enough treasure for you to get your payment.

269

:

this.

270

:

What was his name again?

271

:

And Ibram, is he like a duke or a prince or, or,

272

:

You

273

:

oh Now you see his kingdom here." And then she points at the hut.

274

:

Do you really count as a concubine then if he's not like at least a duke?

275

:

I count as a slave.

276

:

He would call me a concubine.

277

:

They took me from where my lands are.

278

:

Yeah, okay.

279

:

you would fucking care.

280

:

Yeah, I mean, it kinda sounds like a guy worth killing and you don't really have much in

the way of weapons.

281

:

I I got this cool hook, I got a sword, I got my rat, I got my dog.

282

:

You could use a cool knife.

283

:

We just go kill a dude.

284

:

I mean, we've killed lots of dudes.

285

:

and we're going up the mountain anyway, right?

286

:

So we may as well.

287

:

We'll do it on the way.

288

:

Yeah.

289

:

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.

290

:

right.

291

:

Hey, lady, you got any advice for killing this guy?

292

:

Is he like blind in one eye or, you know, take snaps at 2 p.m.?

293

:

Yeah.

294

:

No, no, he's flesh and blood as I am.

295

:

But, his wife has a cold.

296

:

Beware.

297

:

HULK HULK

298

:

Yes, the Baron.

299

:

how many people?

300

:

I don't know, they live on the mountainside.

301

:

more or less than 10.

302

:

And she holds up a finger or a hand with three fingers and a hand with five fingers and...

303

:

about eight.

304

:

We cannot fight eight cultists.

305

:

Yeah, yeah, killing eight guys is a little bit, well, I'd be nine guys, I guess, because

the eight plus the, yeah.

306

:

All right.

307

:

Well, okay, we'll see about this then.

308

:

I don't know about the old occultists.

309

:

Yeah, we'll do our best.

310

:

You guys wanna give me another presence roll?

311

:

19 plus 1 is 20 and whatever the DR is it's reduced by 2.

312

:

Yeah, you hear a strange whale in the distance that's like almost like a goat screaming

and a human man yelling.

313

:

How old is your baby?

314

:

My baby.

315

:

No, no, no.

316

:

He's 12.

317

:

Okay, alright.

318

:

that sound like him?

319

:

never heard that sound.

320

:

Oh, fuck that.

321

:

All right, let's go.

322

:

Yep.

323

:

All right.

324

:

Yep.

325

:

You got anything in your hut that'll let us kill your...

326

:

...guy?

327

:

Hmm.

328

:

help us on our quest to kill the guy for you, our murder.

329

:

The assassination you requested.

330

:

I have advice.

331

:

If you see his barren whore of a wife, you promise her a child.

332

:

O-okay.

333

:

and the cult will leave you be.

334

:

Promise isn't like, I'll go get her one, or...

335

:

I leave it to you.

336

:

Yeah, not very devoted, is she?

337

:

Okay.

338

:

Man, you really don't like this lady.

339

:

Let's go.

340

:

Yep.

341

:

Yeah, I'm, uh, I'm itching to get moving.

342

:

It's enough standing here.

343

:

Yeah, we we which direction did the goat man screaming come from man goat?

344

:

we're going towards the goat man screaming the man goat screaming.

345

:

Okay, that's suboptimal, I think.

346

:

ah

347

:

Yeah, gotta be done.

348

:

And yeah, she stands there and watches you walk by her and turns her entire body to watch

you.

349

:

then she just starts bursting out into the laughter again.

350

:

ah She's not crying.

351

:

She's.

352

:

Yeah, that makes me feel good about this whole thing.

353

:

No.

354

:

Yeah, there's a little bit of sarcasm there, know.

355

:

Hell goes.

356

:

What do you think?

357

:

You think it's gonna rain soon?

358

:

um I Yeah, her skin was real dry

359

:

So in front of you, have this mountain and there is a village far, far down the valley

behind some hazy smoke.

360

:

um Somebody wanna set that scene or describe some of the details of that walk towards the

mountain.

361

:

Are we going to the mountain or the village from this hut?

362

:

I'm not, I'm not sure.

363

:

You would have to go, you wouldn't go to the village because the village is like further

down the valley.

364

:

Yep, yep.

365

:

uh And there's fire coming off the mountain

366

:

smoke.

367

:

Yeah.

368

:

oh it was smokeless fire by the lady, but smoke coming off the mountain.

369

:

Yeah.

370

:

Yeah.

371

:

We ought to get them together.

372

:

um Make one whole ass fire.

373

:

um

374

:

Hey, uh, Bellum, you ever see a mountain like that?

375

:

It's got smoke coming out the top.

376

:

There's like this weird yellow sky behind it.

377

:

I feel like the sky's white.

378

:

You ever stare at the sky so long that the yellow kind of starts to seem green or other

colors?

379

:

And then there's like.

380

:

through the drifts of ash.

381

:

Yeah, yeah, look at all it's getting it's getting in my potion equipment man.

382

:

This stuff is the worst Yeah, I know i'm gonna have to clean out my cauldron, whenever

whenever I get a chance uh, maybe I need to fashion like a little a little mask for uh for

383

:

it's gonna rain?

384

:

I really need it to rain.

385

:

UGH!

386

:

Maybe if we find some water I can splash it up in the air for you?

387

:

Okay, alright.

388

:

Why do you need a terrain, Bellum?

389

:

maybe uh if we find a big enough thing of water, I can uh shoot a uh fireball at it.

390

:

Palms open, the southern gate, my scroll, and that'll make steam, and then the steam

condenses and comes down as rain.

391

:

You think that'll work?

392

:

I think if we find enough water, I'm set anyhow.

393

:

gotta, I just, there's not really any sludge around here.

394

:

Yeah, I see.

395

:

You do like sludge.

396

:

really dusty, really dry.

397

:

ah And it just makes me feel exposed, you know?

398

:

How about this, every time we have to piss, we piss in my cauldron, and then once we got

enough piss, we can mix the mud with it.

399

:

Or the dirt.

400

:

Alright.

401

:

beautiful.

402

:

you are walking and you hear that creature shout again closer, same goat sound, same human

guttural uh vocal cords below it.

403

:

and you are getting closer to the mountain.

404

:

The mountain has, it's not barren.

405

:

There are stumps around, there's things that have been logged out.

406

:

It is not living necessarily, but there are things that like stones around that you could

hide behind and there's briars that are dead and like hollow inside that.

407

:

would break if you were to snap them, but would probably hurt if you walked through.

408

:

And these briars lead up and you start to see that path up the mountain and these large

timbered sticks that go along it straight up.

409

:

Are these sticks like vertical or are they like a hiking trail sort of stepping logs?

410

:

Yeah, Vrak, you used to have a crucifix.

411

:

They remind you of crucifixes.

412

:

Mmm.

413

:

Yeah.

414

:

Do they have horizontals?

415

:

No, just a straight stick, but yeah.

416

:

crucify someone on a stick.

417

:

Are there any attachments that could be used for crucifixion?

418

:

Any blood on them?

419

:

pretty far away still, but yeah.

420

:

Alright.

421

:

Bellum, you ever hear anything like that goat man sound?

422

:

Okay.

423

:

No.

424

:

Man go.

425

:

Yeah.

426

:

Yeah, man goat man.

427

:

Hmm.

428

:

All right, well, we've got our task.

429

:

ah I guess we keep our eyes peeled for anything we might find.

430

:

ah

431

:

Let's, Let's walk softly.

432

:

Yeah, sneakily, maybe we, it's a little barren, but maybe we can like creep from rock to

rock once we get closer.

433

:

Yes.

434

:

roll agility.

435

:

from minus one to agility.

436

:

14 with a plus 3

437

:

15 with a minus one, but all DRs for agility are lowered by two for me.

438

:

Beautiful.

439

:

So yeah, you're both very quiet.

440

:

Like what is, I mean, you guys have been out there, you messed with some cube thing in the

past.

441

:

Do you have a attack you take when you're trying to sneak?

442

:

we try to be quiet so that the thing we're sneaking up on doesn't hear us.

443

:

Yeah, I, I imagine I'm wearing like a big robe, you know, along with my occult herb master

upbringings, kinda druidic almost, and I kinda put on my hood and I put my cauldron on my

444

:

back so it looks kinda like a hunch, and then I hunch over and try to pretend to be a

stone.

445

:

And then when I think it's clear I move a little bit.

446

:

And I hunch down and I'm a stone.

447

:

Be the stone.

448

:

is consistently behind Vrak, with behind that, like scooting Cauldron.

449

:

Beautiful, yeah.

450

:

Yeah, it's like a military movement.

451

:

Like frat goes first, under cloak, bellum sneaks in, hides behind, little tap, and then

you go forward.

452

:

As you're doing this, you get to the foothills and you see the first of these large

timbers and there are, it looks like at the top, there is a spike through it.

453

:

and there's black remnants of probably dried blood as well.

454

:

ah That's what you see.

455

:

don't see a body on it or anything, but you know, the crucifix thing.

456

:

somewhere on it.

457

:

or a foot spike, so yeah.

458

:

And yeah, this mountain starts to go up.

459

:

You're no longer on flat ground.

460

:

Is it like scraggly?

461

:

Like a lot of scree and stones and like loose footing?

462

:

Yeah, so.

463

:

I start picking up small sharp rocks.

464

:

Yeah, exactly.

465

:

And so you get to there and you're able to definitely find jagged sharp rocks.

466

:

Some of them are yellowed and they kind of look like broken teeth.

467

:

They're not, they're rocks as far as you can tell.

468

:

And yeah, this thing starts to go up and they're, that line of things like points you

straight up, but you see,

469

:

in the distance while you're sneaking a goat just sitting in the path and it's scratching

at its body with its hooves and trying to knock something off of it.

470

:

And it's making a strange like bleeding that almost sounds human.

471

:

I say we get, can we get close enough so we can make out what it's trying to knock off?

472

:

Has it got a little saddle on it or what?

473

:

So with your earlier agility role, sure.

474

:

Give me a presence though.

475

:

Seven plus one is eight.

476

:

Okay.

477

:

Okay.

478

:

no, just five straight.

479

:

If you were thinking of 10, it's minus 2.

480

:

Uh, my, wait.

481

:

So presence always has a minus two.

482

:

Is that what you're saying?

483

:

Oh, okay.

484

:

Yeah.

485

:

Gotcha.

486

:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

487

:

You can't really pick up anything from this distance.

488

:

Hmm.

489

:

Alright, well...

490

:

We gotta keep going.

491

:

Let's...

492

:

Yep, sneak up on the goat, if we can.

493

:

Uh, I-

494

:

me a 2D6?

495

:

I'll roll one, you roll the other.

496

:

There you go.

497

:

Six.

498

:

I don't know if that's good or bad.

499

:

It's another six.

500

:

Yeah.

501

:

Yeah, you get closer and it seems like it's in pain and it's scratching at things and

you're able to sneak right up on it and you see it pull out with a hoof in a strange

502

:

manner.

503

:

a spike with something hanging from it.

504

:

And as you've gotten closer, its entire body is full of these spikes with little tags

hanging off of them.

505

:

And he's like, just bleeding and trying to yank these things out of him.

506

:

Well that's

507

:

I've never seen anything like that.

508

:

Uh, Bellum, you got any ideas?

509

:

I don't want those spike things to come after us.

510

:

This spike things, do they look like they're made of metal?

511

:

Wood?

512

:

Iron?

513

:

They don't look...

514

:

Do they move after it pulls them out or do they clatter to the ground?

515

:

Looks like it's yanked out how many?

516

:

around it?

517

:

Yeah, as you look at it, probably about six or seven, but it's probably got hundreds in

its body.

518

:

You think that's from like some kind of trap?

519

:

some kind of spike trap.

520

:

The tags have letters on them?

521

:

Can I read?

522

:

Hey, hey, uh, Rat, can you go grab one of those and bring it back?

523

:

I like that.

524

:

Yeah, your rat sneaks up and uh give me a, give me an agility for the rat.

525

:

keep wanting to reach for my T100s.

526

:

ah That's a 19.

527

:

Okay, yeah, it grabs, you see it grab it and it's with its little teeth and scurry back

and drops it on the ground.

528

:

And it's a small little iron spike that looks like it's hand Smithied and there's a little

ring put through it and hanging from that ring is a piece of dried skin with something

529

:

written on it.

530

:

what's written on it.

531

:

I looked it up.

532

:

I am literate.

533

:

Okay, great.

534

:

You look at it and this one says...

535

:

This one says adultery.

536

:

Mmm.

537

:

Alright, let's go yank all the spikes out of it.

538

:

It's either that or sneak past and it keeps making noise, so...

539

:

Yeah, that sounds fair.

540

:

I have a feeling the other ones are gonna be, uh, sins of some sort.

541

:

I don't know that many sins.

542

:

Well, you know, I mean, what's a sin really?

543

:

know, it's just people making choices and sometimes...

544

:

what's a sin?

545

:

There's like a bunch of-

546

:

Well, it says who?

547

:

You know, like, if I'm...

548

:

Well, I mean, what do they know rea- Well, like, if I'm...

549

:

If I'm dying, and it's either die or steal some bread, like, you know, is it really a sin

to survive?

550

:

and you pull out another one.

551

:

This one is murder and different handwriting, but it has a strip of flesh that has a

little fresher than the other ones.

552

:

As you've gotten close and seen this go, it is actually a man who has.

553

:

been shaved down and his skin painted black.

554

:

And there are basically these almost like barbed wire iron ropes that are putting holding

horns on his head under his jaw.

555

:

And his entire jaw is split in half and he's making a strange bleeding sound.

556

:

But he's covered in these things.

557

:

And he's weeping and bleeding, bleating as you pull one out.

558

:

pulling won't take that long with our hands.

559

:

You can have one of these, uh, these little healing potion boys I got.

560

:

No- Oh.

561

:

O- okay.

562

:

I don't know, that seems like that might complicate it.

563

:

What if it grows over it or something?

564

:

Yeah, well, yeah, that's I was thinking more like kind of calm him down and maybe he could

tell us why he's this way but

565

:

okay, go for it.

566

:

Yeah, whatever.

567

:

Are you, while you're pulling these things out, are you going for speed or are you going

for care?

568

:

Um, how difficult are they to remove?

569

:

I'm not like swiping my hand across it.

570

:

Yeah, I'm pulling them out one at a time.

571

:

Okay, yeah, go ahead and give me agility.

572

:

Is this something I gotta roll for?

573

:

I got a 13 minus one, so a 12.

574

:

So if the DR was 14, I pass.

575

:

Ew.

576

:

It, it, it, not him?

577

:

Okay.

578

:

It's pretty pathetic, so it at this point.

579

:

And Vrak, you're feeding the potion to this thing?

580

:

Yeah, are you gonna force feed it or?

581

:

I'm gonna like put it up to his mouth and be like, here you go little bud.

582

:

Maybe every time he bleats, I try to like splash them in there.

583

:

Like here bud, good little lamb, whatever you are.

584

:

Well, yeah, guy who with spikes.

585

:

You know, I had some spikes once, but sorry, sorry.

586

:

Yeah, you look at his hands and the same wire is wrapping them into hooves and his feet

have been split down the middle and some ritualistic disfiguring.

587

:

Hey man, are you with the cult?

588

:

He can't speak.

589

:

He's like...

590

:

Yeah, fair enough.

591

:

healing potion starting to do anything or

592

:

Yeah, you see him calm down.

593

:

You see he's laid down and it's kind of moving different ways so Bellum can grab where he

hasn't been able to.

594

:

So he'll like roll on his back now that they're out of his back and you're able to pull

all of them out.

595

:

And they are sins laid out all over in front of you.

596

:

Looking at these sins, what sin would you have nailed to him?

597

:

Probably lying.

598

:

to see.

599

:

Yeah, you know, that's one that I do a lot.

600

:

You know, sometimes when you're trying to talk, I just have a compulsion to talk.

601

:

And when I talk, you know, sometimes things come out that aren't true.

602

:

And then you have to like, well, shit, that came out.

603

:

So I need to like cover for that.

604

:

And it just, gets out of hand real fast.

605

:

That's very funny.

606

:

I thought that you meant, what sin do I assume this man has committed that I would nail to

him?

607

:

No, you mean what is my sin?

608

:

I wildly misunderstood the purpose of this exercise.

609

:

Like, I don't know, I guess he looks like an adulterer.

610

:

I don't know, hard to tell.

611

:

Yeah, what would you do if they were nailing sins on you that you did?

612

:

Which one do think you'd do?

613

:

I don't do any sins.

614

:

Oh, yeah, cause you like the church.

615

:

Got it.

616

:

Okay.

617

:

Oh, okay.

618

:

Oh, that's what I was trying to say earlier.

619

:

I mean, even like this guy we're going to kill, right?

620

:

Like they stick murder on this guy.

621

:

But like if we don't go kill...

622

:

Yeah.

623

:

Well, he's going to kill a kid, right?

624

:

Like, I think killing a guy who's going to kill a kid, not necessarily a bad thing to do.

625

:

Apparently I'm from Brooklyn now.

626

:

Brooklyn.

627

:

Forget about it.

628

:

Yeah, he's like, as you're doing this in Bellum, you feel you have no sins to unburden,

but Vrak, like what would you do to unburdening yourself of your deceit?

629

:

Like would you nail deceit to this scapegoat?

630

:

Well, I was kind of just trying to make him feel better.

631

:

And even though I do deceit, which is some people say it's a sin, I can't really help it.

632

:

I have this compulsion.

633

:

Things come out of my head and then they come out of my mouth.

634

:

And after living with it for so many years, it's like, this is just kind of who I am.

635

:

I'm not doing it because I'm a bad person.

636

:

I'm not particularly sure that I'm choosing to do this.

637

:

This whole concept of free will, people act like I choose to say these things.

638

:

But like,

639

:

you know sometimes they pop in your brain and they come out and I can't stop that you know

it's not okay yeah well then I won't yeah

640

:

You

641

:

So uh, hey, Guy, can you tell us anything?

642

:

You still can't talk.

643

:

I'm not sure how effective these healing potions are.

644

:

I'm not a great herb master.

645

:

Yeah, he just...

646

:

a d6 of HP.

647

:

okay.

648

:

Yeah, roll me that D6.

649

:

Three, great.

650

:

He grabs a spike from the ground and carves in the dust.

651

:

Hello.

652

:

Oh.

653

:

Hi!

654

:

Spectacular.

655

:

And then he carves T-H-X.

656

:

Your text?

657

:

that your name?

658

:

Oh yeah!

659

:

It carves no name.

660

:

That's a cool name, Noname, got it.

661

:

Sounds like it's from the Sarkash.

662

:

Yeah.

663

:

Could be.

664

:

We don't have names like that in Shell Swig where I'm from.

665

:

Hahaha

666

:

little slice where?

667

:

uh

668

:

Yeah, I can't say the name so well, which is also why I didn't really pick up on Thanks.

669

:

He carves UR-er.

670

:

Just as are, he's just telling you where he's from.

671

:

Got it.

672

:

I heard U-Y-O-U space A-R-E-ER, U-R.

673

:

And I struggled.

674

:

I don't know where that is from here, but it seems like...

675

:

Yeah.

676

:

Are you part of this cult?

677

:

No.

678

:

And then he exits through the no multiple times in anger.

679

:

Yeah, it's not-

680

:

do they do- I think it's this iron wire around you, they use like pliers or you know where

they keep them or-

681

:

Yeah, he takes his strange, hoved fingers and points up the mountain.

682

:

And as he does, he moves his hand over and past the trail of crucifixes.

683

:

And you see a jutting that is, excuse me, you see a crack through the mountain, almost

like a gorge that has been split open.

684

:

by time and he points there.

685

:

Okay, well, uh, once we get all these needles out of ya.

686

:

If come with us and we find the pliers, we can get the...

687

:

Yeah, gives you a shrug.

688

:

Well, you don't mind the wire anymore?

689

:

Yeah.

690

:

You guessed that he probably doesn't remember a time before the wire.

691

:

Hmm.

692

:

Okay, well, I bet you you'll be a lot happier without it, but you do you.

693

:

Yeah, he nuzzles up to you and rubs on you like a dog would on the side of your leg.

694

:

And there's some tears coming out of his eyes at this point.

695

:

no, you're a people, don't, no.

696

:

Yeah, we've already got one dog.

697

:

Ol' Arby over here does a good job.

698

:

a lady.

699

:

You see that campfire over there?

700

:

Yeah, he looks where you point.

701

:

Yeah, there's a lady there that really hates the cultists.

702

:

She fucking hates them.

703

:

Maybe she'll help you out.

704

:

Yeah, you're sending him away.

705

:

yeah, he's act- I don't like that.

706

:

Yeah, he takes a few steps in that direction and looks back at you two longingly and then

turns around and continues down the mountain toward Hager.

707

:

Hey, hey, guy, one more question, sorry.

708

:

ah You see a kid go this way?

709

:

You just thumbs up, thumbs down, or hoof up, hoof down, whatever.

710

:

He just points to the top of the mountain.

711

:

Alright, I'll take that as a yes.

712

:

Thank you, sir.

713

:

I'll send you a bill for the potion, alright?

714

:

Yeah, and he like is walking on all fours, but then you see him like snap his back and you

hear it crack along his spine as he stands up fully erect and continues to walk down the

715

:

path toward Hagar.

716

:

And you have two paths in front of you.

717

:

You have the path that snakes around the mountain covered in crucifixes, or this gorge

that looks like a shattered jaw opened in the side of the mountain.

718

:

Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong, he seemed to imply that the cultists were up the Split

Valley?

719

:

He kind of pointed up the trail at the crucifix way and then shifted to the cracked part

after pointing there.

720

:

Yeah, take that how you do.

721

:

is just up the cracked valve.

722

:

No, the kid is up at the top of the mountain, which is what I thought was up the crucifix

way?

723

:

That seems likely.

724

:

If I was gonna, you know, build a, you know, top of the mountain, it's important, right?

725

:

And you're gonna adorn it with your, with your killing devices, because these people

apparently like killing and shit.

726

:

You know, if I was gonna, if I was a crazy cult person and I wanted to do some ritual,

stacking a whole bunch of bodies on crucifixes all the way up to the altar at the top,

727

:

that really, you know, this whole thing's about getting hyped up.

728

:

And if I was that kind of crazy, that'd get me real hyped up.

729

:

Whole parade past dead bodies, up to the top.

730

:

Okay, yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

731

:

Jimmy, are you okay with me occasionally interrupting you?

732

:

I, okay, yeah, that I, it's very hard to like actually be like, you'll be talking for like

a minute and I'll be like, yeah, fuck.

733

:

I guess I'm just, you know, that's one of my talents.

734

:

You know, I got a gift for Gab.

735

:

You know, I can tell us, oh shit, we're supposed to be going.

736

:

All right, dial it in, dial it in.

737

:

You go toward the shattered jaw chasm and you hear the wind funneling through it from a

narrow choke point.

738

:

It doesn't howl, it like whispers in your ear.

739

:

It's like.

740

:

And there's down the, the goal of this thing.

741

:

It's continuous and abrasive.

742

:

There's a, just a cacophony, cacophony is not the right word, but a plethora of sharp

jagged edges you could get sliced on as you navigated it.

743

:

But it is open before you.

744

:

Yes.

745

:

And that, I love it.

746

:

Yeah.

747

:

And you're.

748

:

boot step into the chasm, right?

749

:

Yeah.

750

:

As you're stepping.

751

:

Okay.

752

:

Yeah.

753

:

about monstrous tongues and teeth.

754

:

And I just want to pause for a second and.

755

:

Yeah, as you

756

:

this is a monster valley again.

757

:

Why, it looks a lot like teeth.

758

:

Alright.

759

:

I'm just...

760

:

It's very tooth-maw-like.

761

:

Yeah, very jagged, you know.

762

:

Maybe they should call this mountain like the Mountain of Rock Jaws or something.

763

:

Death Mountain's kinda lame.

764

:

Yeah.

765

:

Mouth mountain, mount, maw, maw mouth.

766

:

mount snaggle tooth I think that's a good one mount

767

:

have sort of the like, uh the gravitas.

768

:

Yeah, alligator teeth, shark tooth, razor jaw.

769

:

is not terrible.

770

:

He's like, can I interrupt you once in a while?

771

:

And then it's like, just goes down the rabbit hole with you this time.

772

:

Yeah.

773

:

Yeah.

774

:

do it.

775

:

I did say shark tooth, but sharp tooth is a lot better.

776

:

I think that's the, wasn't there like a, that a character from a, well, movies don't

really exist in this world, but a long time ago there used to be, or maybe in the future,

777

:

I don't know.

778

:

Yeah.

779

:

I think it was a dragon or maybe like some kind of alien.

780

:

I don't know.

781

:

I straight up don't know what you're referring to.

782

:

there's a movie called The Land Before Time about dinosaurs and they called the T-Rex's

sharp teeth or sharp tooth.

783

:

yeah.

784

:

land before time.

785

:

I forgot that they called the T-Rex's sharp tooths.

786

:

Sharp tooth, uh Yeah, so as you're walking through this strange geometry of jagged edges,

you start to step and the ground gets a little mushy, Bellum.

787

:

Like, there's some moisture up here.

788

:

Yeah.

789

:

And you pay attention to the side of the walls and there is a trickling down of some sort

of thing.

790

:

um

791

:

It's not water, but it does come to the soil and wet in it.

792

:

I sniff it.

793

:

Yeah, it smells kind of irony.

794

:

Taste it.

795

:

Yes, blood.

796

:

And you're proceeding in this small area and ahead of you, you see a strange little baby

creature crying out in pain.

797

:

It's like, your dog kind of winds along with it.

798

:

Vrock the rat.

799

:

climbs up onto your shoulder and into your shirt.

800

:

And you look at this thing and it's got a strange oxen, a baby ox face.

801

:

And then its back is like white fur and it has a weird beak coming out of it where it's

nose should be.

802

:

And it has a one wing that looks broken and it's flapping against the ground.

803

:

It looks sick.

804

:

You think this is another human with shit stuck on them?

805

:

Just more elaborate shit?

806

:

Probably not.

807

:

How big is this?

808

:

A foot and a half tall?

809

:

about a foot and a half tall.

810

:

I don't think so.

811

:

Yeah.

812

:

um

813

:

Do we get the sense that there's like anything else around, anything watching?

814

:

Is this another trap?

815

:

Someone trying to lure us in?

816

:

I'm always thinking about traps.

817

:

Yeah, give me another presence.

818

:

15.

819

:

Also a 15.

820

:

Yeah, you're looking around and there's not much to see but there's just jagged edges of

like spikes everywhere above you and This thing is just sitting in the middle of the path

821

:

in front of you

822

:

All right, so there's blood trickling down the walls and there's dusty mud everywhere.

823

:

Is it easy to see how this thing got here?

824

:

Are there footprints in the dusty mud?

825

:

Did it get carried here?

826

:

Did it scrabble its own way here?

827

:

Did it fly and then land hard?

828

:

What's the?

829

:

Good question, Vrak, looking around, how do you think this thing got here?

830

:

What's the story you tell yourself?

831

:

Hmm.

832

:

Well, it's got a broken wing and there's like giant steep things on each side.

833

:

Uh, it, you know, I don't see any blood on it right out or do I?

834

:

There's no blood, yeah.

835

:

Okay, well, I'm guessing maybe it fell down and broke its wing.

836

:

I don't know.

837

:

Unless there's footprints going around here.

838

:

No, no footprints.

839

:

It's pretty sludgy.

840

:

fell from above.

841

:

Can I look up and see anything?

842

:

Yeah, with that presence check, not much.

843

:

Hmm...

844

:

Well...

845

:

Hey, Oxbird kid!

846

:

It doesn't respond to you.

847

:

just...

848

:

Well, I kinda wanna try another healing potion, but I don't know if this works on whatever

the hell that thing is.

849

:

Yeah, I know.

850

:

Well, m

851

:

Tell you what, is there a stick nearby or can I peel uh a strip off of one of the crucifix

poles?

852

:

can see you did that earlier, yeah.

853

:

All right, I'm gonna set its little arm, make a little splint.

854

:

Yeah, you approach it and you see that wing is out.

855

:

And as you reach down to pull it over, the underside of the wing is revealed and there

are.

856

:

You can't count, I guess, with this with this quick view, but there are eyeballs that look

up at you from the wing and some of them blink and they look at you and the thing hisses.

857

:

Let's go ahead and get a combat initiative role.

858

:

So who wants to roll initiative for you guys?

859

:

I'll do it.

860

:

I rolled a 19.

861

:

Okay, well for initiative you do a D6 plus your agility.

862

:

Yeah, sorry.

863

:

it then, Vrak.

864

:

I have a minus one to agility.

865

:

Yeah.

866

:

that's a five.

867

:

our initiative?

868

:

So you can choose.

869

:

So this just says if the monsters go first or you go first.

870

:

So A4, five and six, you goes first.

871

:

You can go first and then you can roll or split it up however you want between you.

872

:

So you go first and.

873

:

Yeah, I guess I would say Bellum probably goes first since he's like right there and he's

like,

874

:

Ah!

875

:

Yeah, it hisses at you.

876

:

These eyeballs like open up a few of them blink and as you can see it's little claws that

come out from the side of the wing and the wing snaps to attention.

877

:

It doesn't seem like it's actually broken and it does start to slash towards you.

878

:

What do do?

879

:

I'm gonna whack it with a crowbar.

880

:

Yeah.

881

:

Roll it.

882

:

a 15, which are we, is it a 12 to hit?

883

:

12 to hit?

884

:

Yeah, just a normal.

885

:

Yeah.

886

:

Yeah.

887

:

Give me some damage.

888

:

D4 for four damage.

889

:

space.

890

:

More damage.

891

:

Okay, yeah, you hit it where you just right in the beak, the wing.

892

:

You're gonna be like, I'll actually break that fucking wing.

893

:

Like, woulda.

894

:

ah I think promptly I'd be going for the head.

895

:

Okay, yeah, you smash it right in the head.

896

:

It looks a little disoriented and the claw or the beak opens up and some blood starts to

sputter out as it like, you see the little bird tongue come out too.

897

:

Vrak, it is your turn.

898

:

Do I have a way to move back?

899

:

flee.

900

:

there's no, there's no, what do they call it in D &D?

901

:

uh Yeah, or reaction to like, yeah, yeah, you can, you can smash it in the head and then

take a step, a few steps back, room distance away.

902

:

uh

903

:

Yep.

904

:

Uh, do my animals also get actions?

905

:

Do they have a, let's give your dog that that makes sense.

906

:

Your dog can bite and we'll give it a D4 for damage.

907

:

w- this is probably a waste of a turn, but I think Vrak reaches into his shirt, pulls out

his rat, and goes, go for the eyes, rat!

908

:

And throws it at the wing.

909

:

To, get the wing eyes.

910

:

yeah, that's cool.

911

:

No, yeah, boo.

912

:

Yeah, so you unleash your rat.

913

:

And so I will let you do something as vrac as well.

914

:

Okay, um.

915

:

I guess...

916

:

Can I charge at it with my sword?

917

:

Yeah, so I roll a d20 for that.

918

:

That's a one.

919

:

Okay, give me one second here.

920

:

Yeah, ah you roll up on this thing and you pull out your sword and you hold it overhead

and you don't realize there's just a huge rock out jutting above you and you swing forward

921

:

and it hits the top and shatters above your head and steel rains down on you.

922

:

uh Little shards fall all around you.

923

:

Go ahead and give me a agility roll.

924

:

13 plus three, so 16.

925

:

Okay, yeah, you know it shatters right when it hits and you're able to slink back away so

none of the shards fall into you, but they do fall in the dirt everywhere around you and

926

:

your sword is now broken.

927

:

Son of a bitch!

928

:

That was my second favorite weapon.

929

:

I still got my hook.

930

:

Yeah, this thing, seeing the sword shatter and you running up on it, it lunges straight

for your knees and tries to sink a beak into your knees.

931

:

Go ahead and give me agility.

932

:

That is a 11 with a plus 3.

933

:

That is a 14.

934

:

Yeah, how do you, do you hold this back from biting you right in the knees?

935

:

Like how do you stop it?

936

:

I think I'm still kinda falling back and I've got my hook ah and then Arby like runs up

from the side and just knocks him out of the way.

937

:

Good boy, good boy, get him girl, get him.

938

:

Yes.

939

:

That's right, you're my trained dog.

940

:

Man's best friend.

941

:

Yeah, Arby's got into the wings.

942

:

ah Let me, oh, I can roll for the animals since I don't get to roll that much.

943

:

Not doing any damage with the two, but grabs the wings and, you know, a sense of security

there.

944

:

And you see your rat, you see rat uh crawl up on the wings and try to get under to the

eyeballs.

945

:

And.

946

:

With that Bellum, you're standing there and you hear a whistle from above of air.

947

:

And one of these things drops on your shoulder from the top of the chasm and starts to

peck at you.

948

:

Give me an agility.

949

:

15.

950

:

Yeah, it misses.

951

:

It's like snapping in your ear, but it's on your shoulder.

952

:

The wings are flapping in your face.

953

:

Having those eyeballs so close to your face uh is disturbing and you might get pink eye.

954

:

And we go over to our players.

955

:

So now there's two of these things.

956

:

There are two.

957

:

One is on each of you basically.

958

:

We know they have minimum two damage reduction.

959

:

Yeah.

960

:

I do a D4 at best.

961

:

Yeah.

962

:

ah I heave the one that's on my shoulders into the jagged sharp rocks below.

963

:

I hurl.

964

:

I hurl it.

965

:

Yeah, as you the environment around you, like you think you could grab it and just stab it

out to the side like there's Jagger Rocks coming off to the side.

966

:

There's like one nice one there, too.

967

:

swing it like a sock full of nickels.

968

:

Yeah, hit me with that uh strength.

969

:

13 plus zero, so.

970

:

Yeah, you're able to, let's see what you do.

971

:

Give me a uh D8, that's pretty nasty, right?

972

:

Give me a D8, yeah.

973

:

Okay, so you pin one of its wings against it and it gets impaled on there.

974

:

It is immobile, but it's coming at you with its other winged claw to slash your face.

975

:

Vrak, what do you got going?

976

:

Ah.

977

:

Yeah, I'm not so sure I'm strong enough to do what Bellum did there.

978

:

I'm going to try to use my hook hand and come in under the wing and get it in the eyes,

the wing eyes.

979

:

Yeah, roll that D20 with your strength.

980

:

Oh, it's a strength?

981

:

Okay, that's a...

982

:

What am I doing here?

983

:

12 with a minus 2, so 10.

984

:

Okay, yeah.

985

:

So you, you know, you're trying to be precise with this hook, the commotion there is a lot

as this thing is flapping its wing and your rat's trying to get in there and you miss like

986

:

a tender spot with it.

987

:

So.

988

:

I had a quick question procedurally.

989

:

Are these guys from a book?

990

:

And if they are, do they have perhaps a D2 of damage reduction?

991

:

Yeah, they have a D2 of damage reduction.

992

:

And they're a reskinned thing of the book.

993

:

So, yeah.

994

:

it.

995

:

I think you've like flip a coin each time.

996

:

Oh, to see like how much it reduces.

997

:

Okay, yeah.

998

:

Yeah, cause you hit it with, yeah.

999

:

So when you do actually hit it, so yeah, yeah, yeah.

:

01:04:48,787 --> 01:04:55,671

Okay, now the one on you Vrock, you're wiggling with your hook.

:

01:04:55,671 --> 01:04:57,371

comes in with a claw.

:

01:04:57,371 --> 01:05:02,195

Give me that agility to see if you can get out of its reach.

:

01:05:02,402 --> 01:05:03,182

That's...

:

01:05:03,182 --> 01:05:06,282

Man, I keep doing the D100, dammit.

:

01:05:06,822 --> 01:05:10,682

That's a 12 with a plus 3, 15.

:

01:05:11,035 --> 01:05:18,940

Yeah, yeah, you definitely lose that claw like as it slashes towards your eyes.

:

01:05:18,941 --> 01:05:20,041

Bellum.

:

01:05:20,482 --> 01:05:23,724

This thing is pinned against the side of the wall.

:

01:05:23,724 --> 01:05:27,467

That other claw is coming straight towards your throat agility.

:

01:05:29,126 --> 01:05:32,286

11 minus 1 is 10, not good enough.

:

01:05:32,399 --> 01:05:34,616

Yeah, comes in for a deep.

:

01:05:34,616 --> 01:05:35,259

Oh.

:

01:05:35,259 --> 01:05:36,312

good enough.

:

01:05:36,312 --> 01:05:38,956

Agility and presence tests are DR-2.

:

01:05:39,933 --> 01:05:41,225

yep, exactly.

:

01:05:41,225 --> 01:05:44,648

So yeah, same, same thing.

:

01:05:44,648 --> 01:05:52,475

You juke out of the way as this claw comes tearing for the throat and it is over to you

guys.

:

01:05:52,720 --> 01:05:56,633

Why wouldn't they just give me plus two to agility and presence?

:

01:05:57,595 --> 01:06:01,981

Yeah, they take the difficulty rating down instead, yeah.

:

01:06:01,981 --> 01:06:04,683

Why would this be this way?

:

01:06:05,684 --> 01:06:06,678

Anyways.

:

01:06:08,010 --> 01:06:09,256

What are doing Bellarmine Brook?

:

01:06:09,256 --> 01:06:09,697

that?

:

01:06:09,697 --> 01:06:10,857

Hang on.

:

01:06:11,239 --> 01:06:15,244

Cause if I did misread this, this could just out and out kill me.

:

01:06:15,244 --> 01:06:20,623

Any attack has a chance to just uh get rid of me.

:

01:06:20,981 --> 01:06:21,785

Yeah.

:

01:06:23,678 --> 01:06:25,264

I don't think you misread it.

:

01:06:25,902 --> 01:06:31,416

presence and agility tests have their DR reduced by 2.

:

01:06:31,416 --> 01:06:35,316

Normal tests are DR10 instead of 12.

:

01:06:35,316 --> 01:06:40,286

Yeah, you're lucky little shiteel.

:

01:06:42,232 --> 01:06:43,132

Yeah.

:

01:06:45,259 --> 01:06:46,440

That's awesome.

:

01:06:48,426 --> 01:06:51,293

Okay, it's over to you.

:

01:06:52,233 --> 01:06:53,688

Stackful of nickels again.

:

01:06:55,731 --> 01:07:03,769

This time I wanna, I wanna sway him towards the ground instead of the wall and maybe I can

keep like stomp him or something.

:

01:07:04,148 --> 01:07:06,911

Yeah, go ahead, give me that strength.

:

01:07:08,033 --> 01:07:08,283

No?

:

01:07:08,283 --> 01:07:11,636

Okay, yeah.

:

01:07:12,038 --> 01:07:18,445

Yeah, you just can't get a grip on him as he's stuck against this one piece of rock.

:

01:07:18,966 --> 01:07:20,608

Vrock, what do you got for us?

:

01:07:22,853 --> 01:07:32,523

Yeah, I guess I kinda, maybe I missed him with the hook, but seeing how well the wall

worked, it's like I imagine I kinda got the hook under the arm or the wing, but I didn't

:

01:07:32,523 --> 01:07:33,555

stab anything.

:

01:07:33,555 --> 01:07:38,229

I'm like, ah, and I just try to like yank him back towards the wall with my hook.

:

01:07:38,654 --> 01:07:40,076

Yeah, give me the strength.

:

01:07:41,999 --> 01:07:44,225

That's 16 minus 2.

:

01:07:44,225 --> 01:07:46,772

So 14.

:

01:07:46,772 --> 01:07:49,101

Right, yeah, give me a D8 of damage.

:

01:07:49,787 --> 01:07:53,169

That's a six.

:

01:07:54,493 --> 01:08:05,638

Okay, yeah, you impale this thing against the wall and you see it go stiff for a second

and wiggle almost like it's like in its death throes and its nervous system is shutting

:

01:08:05,638 --> 01:08:10,880

down and it slops like this as you've impaled it against the wall.

:

01:08:11,845 --> 01:08:14,518

Right, you little creepy chimera bastard?

:

01:08:16,073 --> 01:08:16,815

Sorry, lady.

:

01:08:16,815 --> 01:08:18,458

Your knife's not worth it.

:

01:08:18,798 --> 01:08:20,318

Wait, but it is.

:

01:08:20,779 --> 01:08:22,339

Rich is beyond measure.

:

01:08:22,880 --> 01:08:25,161

Well, it was, it always was.

:

01:08:26,082 --> 01:08:28,113

It's what Nick, you said, right?

:

01:08:28,113 --> 01:08:31,204

Like that was your, it is Rich is Beyond Measure.

:

01:08:31,825 --> 01:08:33,825

Like legitimately, yeah.

:

01:08:34,406 --> 01:08:37,757

So, no, don't, don't, don't, don't, we're gonna get it.

:

01:08:37,757 --> 01:08:38,808

Don't tell us.

:

01:08:40,209 --> 01:08:41,289

Find out.

:

01:08:42,150 --> 01:08:43,500

That's what we're here for.

:

01:08:43,514 --> 01:08:44,655

Exactly.

:

01:08:45,197 --> 01:08:46,519

So where were we?

:

01:08:46,519 --> 01:08:48,028

The combat.

:

01:08:48,028 --> 01:08:49,904

I think there was one more.

:

01:08:49,965 --> 01:08:50,486

Yeah.

:

01:08:50,486 --> 01:08:51,172

And.

:

01:08:51,172 --> 01:08:52,474

Patrick's turn.

:

01:08:52,474 --> 01:08:54,458

I went, I think, right?

:

01:08:54,458 --> 01:08:58,976

And then it was did the and I killed my ox bird.

:

01:08:59,940 --> 01:09:03,230

It just attacked me and...

:

01:09:04,667 --> 01:09:07,125

missed and you threw it on the ground.

:

01:09:07,125 --> 01:09:08,602

had a 10.

:

01:09:08,729 --> 01:09:12,939

So I think it's probably its turn.

:

01:09:13,321 --> 01:09:14,112

Sure.

:

01:09:15,038 --> 01:09:17,562

Do you know how morale checks work?

:

01:09:18,912 --> 01:09:26,413

Yeah, when they, well, I guess when they lose half their buddies.

:

01:09:26,588 --> 01:09:27,488

Yeah.

:

01:09:28,028 --> 01:09:41,173

So this thing is flopping on the ground after you've thrown it and it's realized how much

it's missed you and it screeches and goes and it tries to fly away.

:

01:09:42,494 --> 01:09:44,775

Bellum, are you letting it fly away?

:

01:09:45,776 --> 01:09:46,731

Yeah, fuck that.

:

01:09:46,731 --> 01:09:48,980

I'm not tangling with that thing anymore.

:

01:09:49,386 --> 01:09:50,670

These guys suck.

:

01:09:51,360 --> 01:09:54,511

Yeah, it flies away and it's just screeching.

:

01:09:56,799 --> 01:10:01,880

like just echoing through this canyon and it takes off.

:

01:10:01,921 --> 01:10:13,444

And Vrak, the one that you impaled fully starts to turn into a strange, goopy material as

it starts to just melt off of that spike.

:

01:10:13,444 --> 01:10:20,967

And the eyeballs from the wings fall down on the ground like stones and they roll towards

you like marbles.

:

01:10:21,802 --> 01:10:27,704

Oh, well, maybe get some ingredients out of this and scoop some of this up in some jars.

:

01:10:27,817 --> 01:10:30,935

eyeballs are rock hard, they are marbles.

:

01:10:30,997 --> 01:10:35,770

And you think that if you put them in a sling, they'd be quite potent.

:

01:10:36,594 --> 01:10:37,696

hey, Bellum.

:

01:10:37,696 --> 01:10:39,309

ah These eyes are weird.

:

01:10:39,309 --> 01:10:43,426

They're like little, almost like pellets or shots.

:

01:10:44,126 --> 01:10:47,982

eh If they're not sharp, I'm not interested.

:

01:10:48,765 --> 01:10:50,621

He likes sharp stones.

:

01:10:51,375 --> 01:10:54,206

Well, I'll hold onto them in case you run out of shop things.

:

01:10:54,206 --> 01:10:55,576

Maybe I can just throw them.

:

01:10:55,576 --> 01:10:58,417

ah Or shoot them like marbles.

:

01:10:58,417 --> 01:11:06,939

Maybe I could, I know, I'll put them in a pouch and whenever something's coming, I'll

throw them out on the floor and they'll slip and fall on these eye marbles.

:

01:11:06,939 --> 01:11:08,820

And it'll be a great trap.

:

01:11:08,980 --> 01:11:10,620

I think that's the plan.

:

01:11:11,041 --> 01:11:12,141

Yeah.

:

01:11:12,281 --> 01:11:13,381

That's the ticket.

:

01:11:13,381 --> 01:11:16,532

Little eyeball traps that are rolling around.

:

01:11:16,910 --> 01:11:18,780

Man, have you ever seen one of these things before?

:

01:11:18,780 --> 01:11:20,044

What the hell are these things?

:

01:11:20,044 --> 01:11:21,398

ah

:

01:11:21,549 --> 01:11:22,651

Yeah.

:

01:11:22,962 --> 01:11:26,225

Hey Nick, uh morale rules.

:

01:11:26,647 --> 01:11:32,834

It looks like you roll 2D6 and if you roll over their morale, it flees or surrenders.

:

01:11:33,801 --> 01:11:35,893

Yeah, rolled over the morale for this thing.

:

01:11:35,893 --> 01:11:37,134

Low morale.

:

01:11:38,516 --> 01:11:39,476

Yeah.

:

01:11:39,877 --> 01:11:41,999

Do you continue through the chasm?

:

01:11:43,784 --> 01:11:44,584

Yes.

:

01:11:44,937 --> 01:11:45,749

Yeah.

:

01:11:46,783 --> 01:11:47,644

You...

:

01:11:49,499 --> 01:11:59,910

see it start to widen, the jaw is opening as you start to smell cooking meat that is

sweet.

:

01:12:00,031 --> 01:12:05,916

The meat smell wafts in your face and it reminds you of a meal.

:

01:12:06,097 --> 01:12:08,119

What meal does it remind you of?

:

01:12:09,120 --> 01:12:12,718

Of course, from when times were lean.

:

01:12:13,719 --> 01:12:14,641

Nay.

:

01:12:15,428 --> 01:12:18,159

Vrak, what does it remind you of?

:

01:12:19,487 --> 01:12:26,030

Uh, you know, my, my grandma, used to make, uh, what we just call the goop.

:

01:12:26,030 --> 01:12:35,475

It was some kind of like grain mixed with like, you know how at the butcher shop after

they cut up all the good meat and they got the stuff left that they can't sell.

:

01:12:35,795 --> 01:12:37,056

and they put it out in barrels.

:

01:12:37,056 --> 01:12:42,979

And if you get to it soon enough before like the rats get to it, then you can maybe turn

it into something edible.

:

01:12:42,979 --> 01:12:49,330

And so we'd mix like sawdust and these like meat bits, uh, and then, you know,

:

01:12:49,330 --> 01:12:57,378

this other goopy ingredient that she had and uh, you know, it tasted like shit, but it

reminds me of home.

:

01:12:58,701 --> 01:13:17,099

Hey, these thoughts enter as you walk and you see this chasm disappear and in front of

you, there are logged out stretches of.

:

01:13:17,153 --> 01:13:32,750

hillside leading up to the mountain and you see a fire in the distance with a group of

tents around it and a one large tent behind about four smaller tents and that smell is

:

01:13:32,750 --> 01:13:34,671

delicious coming from the camp.

:

01:13:35,672 --> 01:13:39,183

Does it smell like people meat?

:

01:13:40,184 --> 01:13:47,282

Does that, that, does that, is there a difference?

:

01:13:47,282 --> 01:13:48,471

I would know.

:

01:13:48,471 --> 01:13:52,830

I feel like this is a smell that we have smelled before.

:

01:13:52,830 --> 01:13:54,540

it smell like long pig?

:

01:13:54,540 --> 01:13:56,409

Is that what you're talking about?

:

01:13:57,374 --> 01:13:59,004

It's bacony.

:

01:13:59,004 --> 01:14:02,017

Definitely smells like pig more than like a chicken.

:

01:14:02,210 --> 01:14:02,692

Long...

:

01:14:02,692 --> 01:14:06,122

Long pig's a slang term for human meat, so

:

01:14:06,404 --> 01:14:07,265

Yeah.

:

01:14:08,030 --> 01:14:10,315

That is gross.

:

01:14:10,725 --> 01:14:11,575

you didn't know that?

:

01:14:11,575 --> 01:14:19,140

Yeah, it's because if you uh prepare a human and put them on a spit, it looks like a

really long pig.

:

01:14:19,140 --> 01:14:22,460

Okay, yeah, I'll have to Google that someday.

:

01:14:25,720 --> 01:14:26,356

Yeah.

:

01:14:26,356 --> 01:14:27,840

other white meat.

:

01:14:29,208 --> 01:14:30,047

Yeah.

:

01:14:31,652 --> 01:14:52,614

you smell that and are hungry for some long pig and you're walking past ashen stumps and

as you're walking the ground is really mushy and wet there is it's collecting moisture on

:

01:14:52,614 --> 01:15:00,148

the side of the mountain and you do see clouds up on the mountainside coalescing

:

01:15:00,552 --> 01:15:12,685

And on the mountain looks like there's a massive bonfire that has lit like it's almost

like it's erupting and giant billets of black smoke are coming from it.

:

01:15:12,685 --> 01:15:14,766

Now, this is not a volcanic mountain.

:

01:15:14,766 --> 01:15:17,335

It's actually more of a hill than anything.

:

01:15:17,417 --> 01:15:20,357

And the jagged rocks.

:

01:15:21,118 --> 01:15:21,978

Like.

:

01:15:23,038 --> 01:15:26,859

Peak up and then the smoke rises from there.

:

01:15:27,859 --> 01:15:30,140

You're in an open cut.

:

01:15:30,812 --> 01:15:44,020

and this impromptu village tent city is in front of you and you see shambling figures

walking around the tents.

:

01:15:45,021 --> 01:15:46,924

Okay, all right.

:

01:15:47,226 --> 01:15:55,525

Do we, A, go in like, hello fellow cultists.

:

01:15:57,521 --> 01:16:09,391

How do you do, or B, do we ah sneak up on the backside of that big tent, cut a little

hole, and reach in and take their stuff?

:

01:16:10,394 --> 01:16:13,514

You know, I, um...

:

01:16:13,514 --> 01:16:15,234

I like- I like tricking people.

:

01:16:15,234 --> 01:16:17,354

I like being deceptive.

:

01:16:17,354 --> 01:16:23,015

I think if someone- if I was in a cult, I would probably know most of the other cult

members.

:

01:16:23,015 --> 01:16:27,036

we can be more like, hello, we're here to join the cult.

:

01:16:27,177 --> 01:16:29,399

Okay, yeah, alright.

:

01:16:29,881 --> 01:16:32,024

Is that how- is this that kind of cult?

:

01:16:32,024 --> 01:16:36,210

They're like, want people- I- yeah, guess I'm good at lying.

:

01:16:36,210 --> 01:16:37,302

like super friendly.

:

01:16:37,302 --> 01:16:41,967

don't, like, they did that, they did up that one guy pretty good.

:

01:16:42,135 --> 01:16:44,206

Yeah, yeah.

:

01:16:44,466 --> 01:16:45,467

Hmm.

:

01:16:45,927 --> 01:16:49,209

You know, I am kind of interested to see how that plays out though.

:

01:16:49,209 --> 01:17:00,456

I think the other thing is if we get caught sneaking in, ah then we definitely can't, hey,

we were here to join the cult by sneaking in through this hole we cut in your tent.

:

01:17:00,456 --> 01:17:02,369

I don't think that story is going to hold water.

:

01:17:02,369 --> 01:17:10,159

plan C, you are here to join the cult and I am here to cut a hole in the back of the tent.

:

01:17:10,477 --> 01:17:12,418

Oh, I like that plan.

:

01:17:12,418 --> 01:17:14,160

Yeah, that plays to our strengths.

:

01:17:14,160 --> 01:17:16,782

I can talk a good cult game.

:

01:17:16,782 --> 01:17:32,724

ah All hail Lord Abram, ah who nails sins on the people and turns them into goats by

making their hands into cloved hooves and feeding the cloved hooves and barb-wiring horns

:

01:17:32,724 --> 01:17:33,894

to their head.

:

01:17:34,357 --> 01:17:37,168

I like that whole deal he's got going on.

:

01:17:37,168 --> 01:17:44,323

about making up stuff theologically for these guys, but I think that's a good hustle.

:

01:17:45,284 --> 01:17:47,485

But also, do have a knife?

:

01:17:50,034 --> 01:17:57,015

Would I have a knife for like preparing my my potions and stuff like a kitchen knife?

:

01:17:57,372 --> 01:18:06,042

You picked up shards of your blade and you could give him that, but he might cut himself

when he uses it.

:

01:18:06,273 --> 01:18:07,730

I got these little

:

01:18:07,730 --> 01:18:09,184

off with a sharp rock?

:

01:18:10,185 --> 01:18:10,851

Probably not.

:

01:18:10,851 --> 01:18:12,624

I'll take the tip of his sword.

:

01:18:12,885 --> 01:18:13,688

Yeah.

:

01:18:15,231 --> 01:18:17,820

can't believe neither of us has a goddamn knife.

:

01:18:18,095 --> 01:18:23,056

Yeah, I thought about buying one, but I got really invested in the dog and the rat, you

know.

:

01:18:23,056 --> 01:18:25,879

I bought chalk instead.

:

01:18:29,246 --> 01:18:31,519

Actually, that's not true.

:

01:18:31,519 --> 01:18:37,619

I bought a sling instead, which still, I still think that was a reasonable purchase.

:

01:18:37,689 --> 01:18:47,011

Yeah, you know, if you do enough rock slings into the tent, you could punch little holes,

like a little punch out, and then just kind of tear it open like a door.

:

01:18:47,011 --> 01:18:47,851

I think.

:

01:18:48,748 --> 01:18:49,911

time consuming.

:

01:18:50,051 --> 01:18:54,000

Yeah, it's probably not effective, you know, for our purposes.

:

01:18:54,382 --> 01:18:56,767

Okay, yeah, alright, let's go do it.

:

01:18:57,504 --> 01:19:03,006

Okay, Bellum, you will give me a agility.

:

01:19:04,479 --> 01:19:15,655

ah Instead, ah can I uh cover myself in mud and they have to make a DR16 presence check to

notice me?

:

01:19:16,052 --> 01:19:17,054

Yeah, do it.

:

01:19:17,054 --> 01:19:22,723

You're able to get blood ridden mud and cover your body with it.

:

01:19:23,763 --> 01:19:29,861

I sludge up, I sludge myself on over like army crawl up to the back of that tent.

:

01:19:32,050 --> 01:19:33,228

the 12.

:

01:19:33,609 --> 01:19:34,845

Thank goodness.

:

01:19:35,380 --> 01:19:37,495

Yeah, give me the approach.

:

01:19:37,495 --> 01:19:39,209

Like, are you going for the big tent?

:

01:19:39,209 --> 01:19:41,893

Describe your subterfuge.

:

01:19:41,893 --> 01:19:43,906

Yeah, it's Big Tent time.

:

01:19:43,906 --> 01:19:47,301

And Big Tent is like staked down and stuff, right?

:

01:19:48,027 --> 01:19:50,151

yeah, yeah, this is a permanent fixture.

:

01:19:50,151 --> 01:19:53,935

I want to like be laying down on the ground.

:

01:19:54,377 --> 01:19:57,421

I want to sort of peek under the hem.

:

01:19:57,421 --> 01:19:59,817

What do you call the bottom of a tent?

:

01:19:59,870 --> 01:20:02,665

Yeah, that's good enough for me.

:

01:20:02,665 --> 01:20:04,920

Peek under the hem of that big tent.

:

01:20:05,427 --> 01:20:24,708

Yeah, you peek under it and if you would go into the back of it or the side, just so which

one back you see right up against to where you cut a small slit in the him and lift up.

:

01:20:24,708 --> 01:20:31,612

There is a like a wagon wheel in front of you that is.

:

01:20:31,828 --> 01:20:45,953

barbed wire to another wagon wheel to another wagon wheel and when you look up they've

been kind of fashioned into a makeshift throne and you see a tuft of hair over the back of

:

01:20:45,953 --> 01:20:51,227

the throne just hanging there some long dark hair

:

01:20:52,769 --> 01:20:54,236

Give me a...

:

01:20:54,569 --> 01:20:55,930

a presence.

:

01:20:56,931 --> 01:20:58,711

Seven plus one is eight.

:

01:20:59,035 --> 01:21:13,455

you hear some whispers and then somebody walk away from this figure on the throne and

there is a shuffling somewhere in the tent, like maybe somebody else is standing in there.

:

01:21:14,575 --> 01:21:16,135

Let's cut over to Vrak.

:

01:21:16,135 --> 01:21:17,675

Vrak, what's your approach?

:

01:21:19,791 --> 01:21:26,498

Is there anything that looks like a entrance to this encampment this town like a main

thoroughfare

:

01:21:28,083 --> 01:21:35,101

It's like eight tents and then a big tent behind those and people milling between

campfires.

:

01:21:35,394 --> 01:21:36,715

Okay, no guards.

:

01:21:36,715 --> 01:21:37,255

All right.

:

01:21:37,255 --> 01:21:40,217

Um, yeah.

:

01:21:40,217 --> 01:21:40,997

Okay.

:

01:21:40,997 --> 01:21:47,521

I think I kind of walk up to that since where it's like, I'm close enough, but I'm not so

close to be threatening.

:

01:21:47,521 --> 01:21:53,264

And I say, uh, hello, uh, fellow humans.

:

01:21:53,264 --> 01:22:03,854

I, I, um, I heard about what you've got going on here and it sounded like a very close

knit.

:

01:22:03,854 --> 01:22:09,694

uh strong community and I've always felt like I needed a place to belong.

:

01:22:09,694 --> 01:22:19,680

I had left my home a long time ago because I didn't really feel like I fit in there and I

thought maybe with you guys being so inclusive we could

:

01:22:19,680 --> 01:22:33,028

starts walking up as you have said this, he has strange runes carved all in all over his

forehead and he has like a small little club and starts walking towards you with almost

:

01:22:33,028 --> 01:22:33,838

like a marching.

:

01:22:33,838 --> 01:22:35,369

says.

:

01:22:36,450 --> 01:22:38,251

What you going on about?

:

01:22:39,342 --> 01:22:46,922

Well, I was curious about your operation here and if I could join up, you know.

:

01:22:47,442 --> 01:22:50,442

See if I could help and be a part of this community.

:

01:22:50,662 --> 01:22:52,682

I can make potions.

:

01:22:52,682 --> 01:22:54,642

I've got a well-trained dog.

:

01:22:55,662 --> 01:22:58,382

I've got a grappling hook and a hook arm.

:

01:22:58,382 --> 01:22:59,792

I could be useful.

:

01:22:59,792 --> 01:23:00,193

up.

:

01:23:00,193 --> 01:23:01,835

You talk so much.

:

01:23:01,835 --> 01:23:02,305

Come here.

:

01:23:02,305 --> 01:23:07,800

Okay, well, we'll eat the dog.

:

01:23:08,402 --> 01:23:10,063

You can keep the rat.

:

01:23:11,064 --> 01:23:12,938

Can you roll Presence to charm him?

:

01:23:13,939 --> 01:23:21,402

Uh, that's, and yeah, that's just a straight 11, which yeah.

:

01:23:21,402 --> 01:23:23,064

glad I called that before.

:

01:23:26,069 --> 01:23:28,471

So, come on.

:

01:23:29,251 --> 01:23:31,022

Alright, you know, this dog's trained.

:

01:23:31,022 --> 01:23:32,973

He can be pretty useful.

:

01:23:32,973 --> 01:23:35,477

Like if you eat him, he's just gone, but he can go hunt.

:

01:23:35,477 --> 01:23:37,598

And he can bring back more food than he is.

:

01:23:37,598 --> 01:23:38,969

You know what I'm saying?

:

01:23:40,692 --> 01:23:41,409

Okay.

:

01:23:41,409 --> 01:23:43,514

want rabbit, you want squirrels.

:

01:23:44,800 --> 01:23:45,841

All right.

:

01:23:46,786 --> 01:23:47,433

Okay.

:

01:23:47,433 --> 01:23:52,359

to a campfire where there's a rock and he disappears.

:

01:23:52,380 --> 01:23:57,325

And another guy comes out, a little less scuzzy.

:

01:23:57,786 --> 01:24:03,613

And he sits down next to you and sizes you up, but doesn't say anything.

:

01:24:06,636 --> 01:24:09,359

Hey, I'm, I'm, I'm new here.

:

01:24:09,359 --> 01:24:10,740

I'm, I'm frack.

:

01:24:11,721 --> 01:24:12,482

how's it going?

:

01:24:12,482 --> 01:24:16,266

Uh, what can I do to help?

:

01:24:16,266 --> 01:24:22,212

Is there like a pledge I need to sign or, you know, something like that.

:

01:24:22,813 --> 01:24:26,074

Do I have to like strangle anyone to like get in?

:

01:24:26,074 --> 01:24:27,898

Is that like an initiation?

:

01:24:28,053 --> 01:24:28,883

Yeah.

:

01:24:29,324 --> 01:24:35,549

From behind another two, grab your arms and hold your arms behind your back.

:

01:24:35,549 --> 01:24:38,031

Do you struggle against it?

:

01:24:38,374 --> 01:24:41,174

Uh, whoa, hey friends.

:

01:24:41,794 --> 01:24:43,794

Uh, what you doing there?

:

01:24:44,234 --> 01:24:51,006

uh, I don't probably fight, but I'm like, I mean, if it starts to hurt, I might, but...

:

01:24:51,133 --> 01:25:03,649

Yeah, it doesn't hurt, but the one who sat down silently pulls out a small piece of flint

that's sharpened and he walks over to you and he says, put your head back and grabs your

:

01:25:03,649 --> 01:25:05,509

hair and pulls it back.

:

01:25:05,710 --> 01:25:09,391

Yeah, if you want to join, you must carry the mark.

:

01:25:09,432 --> 01:25:14,634

And he starts to stick it onto your forehead and carve symbols into it.

:

01:25:14,634 --> 01:25:16,755

Are you letting this happen?

:

01:25:17,606 --> 01:25:20,889

Like, well, if I want to be part of the gang, I guess I got to get the marks.

:

01:25:20,889 --> 01:25:22,300

Those are some sick tattoos.

:

01:25:22,300 --> 01:25:28,018

I feel like they would certainly, you know, add to my whole aesthetic as like an occult

herb master.

:

01:25:28,018 --> 01:25:31,303

I know I'm not here, but I'd like to ask a question.

:

01:25:32,086 --> 01:25:34,870

Does the guy doing the carving have the marks?

:

01:25:35,231 --> 01:25:36,617

Yeah, they all do.

:

01:25:37,248 --> 01:25:38,069

Yeah.

:

01:25:38,223 --> 01:25:42,987

none of them appear to be enslaved by the Mark doing zombie stuff.

:

01:25:43,488 --> 01:25:46,345

Cool, fine, enjoy your new forehead tats.

:

01:25:46,345 --> 01:25:49,758

Yeah, yeah, he goes to town on it.

:

01:25:49,758 --> 01:25:51,040

Give me a toughness.

:

01:25:51,040 --> 01:25:55,123

You're not gonna lose any hit points, but let's just see how you react here.

:

01:25:57,350 --> 01:25:59,070

19 plus 2.

:

01:25:59,999 --> 01:26:01,593

Great, you're tough.

:

01:26:01,593 --> 01:26:02,134

Yeah.

:

01:26:02,134 --> 01:26:05,313

channel my focus and I'm like, yep, this hurts.

:

01:26:05,313 --> 01:26:09,334

It reminds me of the time when...

:

01:26:09,617 --> 01:26:11,579

can stop speaking.

:

01:26:12,555 --> 01:26:17,890

Do not solely the name and do not solely the mark with your blabbering.

:

01:26:18,094 --> 01:26:19,596

O-o-okay.

:

01:26:19,618 --> 01:26:21,534

Sorry, I just do that sometimes.

:

01:26:21,534 --> 01:26:23,697

We can have a proper conversation now.

:

01:26:23,697 --> 01:26:25,580

The blood's starting to run in your eyes.

:

01:26:25,580 --> 01:26:26,541

You've been marked.

:

01:26:26,541 --> 01:26:28,082

What brings you here?

:

01:26:28,998 --> 01:26:32,411

Uh, you know, like I say, I've been looking for community.

:

01:26:32,411 --> 01:26:35,304

Uh, I've been kind of on the road for.

:

01:26:36,506 --> 01:26:37,997

You're not like bound together.

:

01:26:37,997 --> 01:26:42,431

I mean, this feels like a whole like in group kind of thing that you got going on here.

:

01:26:42,712 --> 01:26:44,255

And that's, that's what I'm looking for.

:

01:26:44,255 --> 01:26:53,682

I want to be in the group in a group instead of like out wandering on my own, you know,

all I got's me and RB and rat, just us three.

:

01:26:53,802 --> 01:26:54,513

up the group.

:

01:26:54,513 --> 01:26:56,766

Give up all of that for Sarai.

:

01:26:58,431 --> 01:26:59,512

okay.

:

01:27:00,217 --> 01:27:03,685

Tell me about that entity.

:

01:27:05,282 --> 01:27:07,035

She's a woman.

:

01:27:07,638 --> 01:27:08,219

Okay.

:

01:27:08,219 --> 01:27:11,488

Oh, I have heard of her, actually.

:

01:27:11,488 --> 01:27:17,132

ah People in the outlying area mentioned the name as I was walking up here.

:

01:27:17,275 --> 01:27:20,652

They mentioned it in spite, in venom I suppose.

:

01:27:21,703 --> 01:27:25,145

Yeah, generally they don't have nice things to say about her.

:

01:27:25,316 --> 01:27:27,988

but you know, I mean, she's never done anything to me.

:

01:27:27,988 --> 01:27:31,311

Uh, what, what do you guys do for her?

:

01:27:31,311 --> 01:27:32,452

What's, what's her deal?

:

01:27:32,452 --> 01:27:33,573

What's her goal?

:

01:27:33,573 --> 01:27:44,245

Is she like looking to, I don't know, like ascend to like the ninth level of whichever

plane you guys are interested in.

:

01:27:44,245 --> 01:27:45,709

talking about?

:

01:27:47,487 --> 01:27:49,693

I'm just trying to guess her motives.

:

01:27:49,693 --> 01:27:50,937

Does she want a kid?

:

01:27:50,937 --> 01:27:51,739

Like sometimes...

:

01:27:51,739 --> 01:27:52,728

oh

:

01:27:52,728 --> 01:27:53,732

her womb.

:

01:27:55,248 --> 01:27:56,149

Fill it with

:

01:27:56,149 --> 01:27:59,164

around and it's all males everywhere.

:

01:27:59,461 --> 01:28:08,986

Hmm, so she wants to like have her own kid Like from herself not just like get a kid from

somewhere No, sir.

:

01:28:08,986 --> 01:28:12,010

I do not never never sired

:

01:28:13,571 --> 01:28:16,112

I could, maybe, I don't know.

:

01:28:17,671 --> 01:28:25,298

I guess I never really like did any alchemical uh tests on my own stuff, you know, to see

like if it works.

:

01:28:25,298 --> 01:28:27,019

ah

:

01:28:27,596 --> 01:28:29,266

We'll find out soon enough.

:

01:28:29,266 --> 01:28:30,126

Come.

:

01:28:31,201 --> 01:28:31,783

You bet.

:

01:28:31,783 --> 01:28:32,839

Now?

:

01:28:33,840 --> 01:28:43,354

He takes you, Bellum, you hear the tent open up and you hear, yeah, yeah.

:

01:28:43,354 --> 01:28:47,577

like to be scoping out a little bit more of this tent.

:

01:28:47,837 --> 01:28:50,960

Specifically, these wagon wheels.

:

01:28:50,960 --> 01:28:55,883

Can I see through them to the person on the throne and whether they are armed or not?

:

01:28:56,636 --> 01:28:58,716

Yeah, I'll give you that.

:

01:28:58,716 --> 01:29:02,436

It doesn't look like she's armed.

:

01:29:03,176 --> 01:29:06,216

So, just a lady, yeah, elderly.

:

01:29:06,336 --> 01:29:11,176

You do pick up whispers of her voice as she's talking with the people around.

:

01:29:12,036 --> 01:29:13,676

A very motherly voice.

:

01:29:13,676 --> 01:29:18,116

In fact, it kind of reminds you of the mother you never had listening to it.

:

01:29:18,116 --> 01:29:18,916

It's soothing.

:

01:29:20,461 --> 01:29:21,558

Any treasure.

:

01:29:22,559 --> 01:29:25,542

Yeah, I mean those wagon wheels came from somewhere.

:

01:29:25,542 --> 01:29:31,827

You see a chest off to the side that probably has something in it.

:

01:29:32,828 --> 01:29:34,394

Yeah, but not a...

:

01:29:36,146 --> 01:29:39,949

Not anything conveniently behind the wagon wheel thrown, huh?

:

01:29:41,991 --> 01:29:46,661

Yeah, there's, it's utilitarian back there.

:

01:29:47,565 --> 01:29:48,440

There's a skull.

:

01:29:48,440 --> 01:29:49,321

sense.

:

01:29:49,625 --> 01:29:51,320

No, I don't need a skull.

:

01:29:53,151 --> 01:29:55,036

Yeah, you've got one already.

:

01:29:55,036 --> 01:29:58,176

um Bellum, are you just gonna hang out and listen?

:

01:29:58,176 --> 01:30:01,280

Are you gonna get into the tent more?

:

01:30:01,280 --> 01:30:05,510

Well, now I need to wait to find out how I can extract frack.

:

01:30:06,995 --> 01:30:19,698

Yeah, Frack, you, this tent opens up, that smell of meat comes out of here and you see,

let me start that over.

:

01:30:20,159 --> 01:30:29,621

You see atop a throne of broken rag, wagon wheels and small skulls from child to adult

placed around them.

:

01:30:29,621 --> 01:30:36,423

um There's a woman and she's wearing what used to be maybe fine gowns.

:

01:30:36,627 --> 01:30:39,288

but they're beyond fine now.

:

01:30:39,288 --> 01:30:45,310

They have the black tinge of old blood and her eyes are utterly vacant.

:

01:30:45,491 --> 01:30:51,753

And she sees you as you come in and there's a smile on her face, but not in her eyes.

:

01:30:52,273 --> 01:30:57,535

And just kind of looking at it, like makes your teeth ache when you see her smile.

:

01:30:59,096 --> 01:31:04,742

And they bring you in and he kicks you to your knees.

:

01:31:04,742 --> 01:31:06,279

He says, get down.

:

01:31:06,729 --> 01:31:08,628

front of Sarai, the mother.

:

01:31:08,770 --> 01:31:10,257

yep, I'm down.

:

01:31:10,257 --> 01:31:11,722

You've sought to that.

:

01:31:13,395 --> 01:31:16,359

And this is a windy mountain, right?

:

01:31:16,359 --> 01:31:23,908

And you hear that outside the tent, it's like flaps, but her voice cuts through it, but

it's so timid and small.

:

01:31:24,230 --> 01:31:28,455

She says, hello, who are you?

:

01:31:29,439 --> 01:31:31,301

Hi, I'm Vrac.

:

01:31:31,301 --> 01:31:32,402

I'm new here.

:

01:31:32,402 --> 01:31:34,215

Got the fresh cuts on my brow.

:

01:31:34,215 --> 01:31:39,311

I'm just here to kind of see what I can do to help.

:

01:31:39,672 --> 01:31:41,454

I heard you're looking for a kid.

:

01:31:43,781 --> 01:31:48,258

Abram has taken my son to the mountain.

:

01:31:48,697 --> 01:31:51,670

You know, somebody else told me a similar story.

:

01:31:52,671 --> 01:31:56,465

Are you here on behalf of this other person?

:

01:31:57,419 --> 01:31:59,779

not really, I'm here for myself.

:

01:32:00,780 --> 01:32:03,735

But what did she tell you is happening to my son?

:

01:32:04,819 --> 01:32:10,163

Uh, well, you know, since I'm part of this group now, I'm going to be honest with you.

:

01:32:10,163 --> 01:32:18,568

She told us it was her son, but, uh, she said that he was going to like kill him with some

kind of magic knife or something like that.

:

01:32:18,569 --> 01:32:20,930

And that's, that's really as far as she got.

:

01:32:20,930 --> 01:32:23,922

Um, and I was like, yeah, okay.

:

01:32:23,922 --> 01:32:25,954

Well, I'm heading to that mountain anyway.

:

01:32:25,954 --> 01:32:29,556

So, uh, I'll check it out while I'm on the way.

:

01:32:30,277 --> 01:32:33,839

Like I said, I was coming here, uh, you know,

:

01:32:34,166 --> 01:32:36,526

Like, and like I just told you, so...

:

01:32:36,844 --> 01:32:39,726

Hmm, you are already coming to this mountain.

:

01:32:39,726 --> 01:32:43,948

No one comes to this mountain, but we can deal with that later.

:

01:32:44,288 --> 01:32:50,752

How did hearing about my son being killed make you feel?

:

01:32:51,419 --> 01:32:55,020

Why, it didn't make me feel great, generally speaking, you know.

:

01:32:55,020 --> 01:32:58,801

ah Ideally, kids don't get killed.

:

01:32:58,801 --> 01:33:09,705

ah But, you know, if there's some good reason for it, you know, I was having a

conversation with a friend of mine just the other day ah about, well, I don't really have

:

01:33:09,705 --> 01:33:11,585

friends, you know, that's why I'm here.

:

01:33:11,585 --> 01:33:15,547

But, you know, like, what is good anyway?

:

01:33:15,547 --> 01:33:16,581

ah

:

01:33:16,581 --> 01:33:19,247

And it's all kinda coming down to motives, you know?

:

01:33:19,247 --> 01:33:23,887

I heard this guy was gonna kill a kid and I'm like, well that's not necessarily good so

I'm gonna go kill him.

:

01:33:23,887 --> 01:33:27,488

But if there's a good reason to not, then you know, I could do that too.

:

01:33:27,488 --> 01:33:28,646

in this tent?

:

01:33:28,648 --> 01:33:30,539

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

:

01:33:30,539 --> 01:33:33,109

I'm gonna shoot one down with a sling.

:

01:33:34,942 --> 01:33:36,674

Okay, yeah.

:

01:33:36,956 --> 01:33:39,641

The lamp hits the ground.

:

01:33:39,641 --> 01:33:45,692

It's a flame lamp, probably filled with human fat, and it spreads.

:

01:33:45,753 --> 01:33:47,315

Vrak, what do you do?

:

01:33:49,511 --> 01:33:51,933

Uh, holy crap!

:

01:33:51,933 --> 01:33:53,454

That- Ah!

:

01:33:53,695 --> 01:33:54,856

We gotta get outta here, man!

:

01:33:54,856 --> 01:33:57,939

This thing's made of, like, what, fabric and stuff?

:

01:33:57,939 --> 01:33:58,600

And wood?

:

01:33:58,600 --> 01:33:59,731

It's gonna burn like crazy!

:

01:33:59,731 --> 01:34:02,543

That looks like an oil fire, a grease fire!

:

01:34:02,924 --> 01:34:04,484

We gotta get outta here!

:

01:34:05,846 --> 01:34:08,639

I- I mean, can I run away?

:

01:34:08,639 --> 01:34:11,018

I feel like I'm surrounded by these guys, so...

:

01:34:11,018 --> 01:34:23,277

the old guy um like immediately stands up and runs to the fire and pulls off his cloak and

grabs a blanket and they start trying to hit it at hit it.

:

01:34:23,277 --> 01:34:34,345

And the one who was standing kitty corner when you entered the tent approaches Sarai and

grabs her and tries to pull her out as well.

:

01:34:34,345 --> 01:34:37,346

And the old man says, help me put this out.

:

01:34:37,827 --> 01:34:39,428

Seems to have fallen.

:

01:34:40,263 --> 01:34:42,283

Uh, okay, sure.

:

01:34:42,283 --> 01:34:46,271

Uh, and I, uh...

:

01:34:48,315 --> 01:34:56,995

take off my cloak and instead of putting it out I kind of try to like fan the flames like

I'm doing it is this helping I think I'm getting it is this right

:

01:34:57,419 --> 01:34:58,268

Yeah.

:

01:34:58,843 --> 01:35:02,478

Maybe try to fan them towards any flammable goods in the area.

:

01:35:03,158 --> 01:35:14,182

Great, yeah, you are able to start fanning a small section of it that's separate from

where the old man was trying to put it out and it catches the door.

:

01:35:14,182 --> 01:35:16,588

There's no way out behind you now.

:

01:35:16,588 --> 01:35:18,377

Oh, go ahead, sorry, go ahead, Bellum, yeah.

:

01:35:18,377 --> 01:35:19,802

No, no, no, no, keep going.

:

01:35:19,802 --> 01:35:22,796

It's the one spot I really didn't want to be on fire.

:

01:35:22,796 --> 01:35:25,259

Okay, yeah.

:

01:35:25,360 --> 01:35:34,114

And it's just Vrak, Belham conceivably, and this old man in the tent as it's starting to

catch on flames.

:

01:35:34,114 --> 01:35:36,035

Should we get an initiative order?

:

01:35:36,035 --> 01:35:38,817

wait, what about the lady and the other people surrounding us?

:

01:35:38,817 --> 01:35:42,641

The guard grabbed her and pulled her out of the tent.

:

01:35:42,641 --> 01:35:43,822

Yeah.

:

01:35:43,822 --> 01:35:45,374

I can retcon that if you want.

:

01:35:45,374 --> 01:35:46,338

So, yeah.

:

01:35:46,338 --> 01:35:46,929

totally fine.

:

01:35:46,929 --> 01:35:49,351

I'm gonna get that treasure.

:

01:35:49,886 --> 01:35:51,117

Okay, yeah.

:

01:35:51,377 --> 01:35:53,249

So let's go ahead and get an initiative order.

:

01:35:53,249 --> 01:35:54,580

You guys can roll that.

:

01:35:54,580 --> 01:35:58,663

So D6 plus your agility, VROC.

:

01:35:59,089 --> 01:35:59,900

Yeah.

:

01:36:00,406 --> 01:36:03,638

That's uh five plus three, so eight.

:

01:36:03,957 --> 01:36:06,917

you just can't like not go first, I guess.

:

01:36:06,917 --> 01:36:08,542

So we don't even need to roll that.

:

01:36:08,542 --> 01:36:09,694

So yeah.

:

01:36:09,993 --> 01:36:10,664

Wait, what?

:

01:36:10,664 --> 01:36:12,797

Oh, I see.

:

01:36:12,797 --> 01:36:14,369

Yeah.

:

01:36:14,610 --> 01:36:15,931

That's very funny.

:

01:36:16,228 --> 01:36:27,094

yeah, so I guess since I'm like right next to the action, if I can first, I actually have

uh a torch or can I use like my torch or something else to like light this guy's clothes

:

01:36:27,094 --> 01:36:28,274

on fire?

:

01:36:28,635 --> 01:36:30,836

Like surreptitiously from behind.

:

01:36:31,096 --> 01:36:32,076

Yeah.

:

01:36:33,057 --> 01:36:34,037

Okay.

:

01:36:34,858 --> 01:36:35,499

Yeah.

:

01:36:35,499 --> 01:36:39,801

I basically want to do it like so that he doesn't turn around and fight back.

:

01:36:39,801 --> 01:36:43,713

Although if he's just going to burst up into flames and not fight back, then excellent.

:

01:36:44,406 --> 01:36:44,891

Mm-hmm.

:

01:36:44,891 --> 01:36:53,727

Yeah, maybe I just push him at the flames, try to like, trip him a little bit as I do it,

and then I run over to where Bellum is and I'm like, let's go buddy, let's go, out the

:

01:36:53,727 --> 01:36:55,838

back, under the hem.

:

01:36:56,139 --> 01:36:57,159

Strength.

:

01:36:57,840 --> 01:36:58,800

Okay.

:

01:36:59,061 --> 01:37:00,361

D20.

:

01:37:00,482 --> 01:37:02,023

My strength isn't great.

:

01:37:03,804 --> 01:37:06,266

that's a 10 minus two.

:

01:37:06,266 --> 01:37:08,097

I'm pretty sure that does not do it.

:

01:37:08,640 --> 01:37:13,488

Yeah, tell me how you sort of fumble this and miss the opportunity to knock him over.

:

01:37:14,489 --> 01:37:15,399

Hmm.

:

01:37:15,560 --> 01:37:21,335

It's as I'm picturing it's like when the thing fell down and exploded kind of like burning

grease splashed everywhere.

:

01:37:21,335 --> 01:37:24,708

And so there's a section he's working on and there's a section I'm working on.

:

01:37:24,708 --> 01:37:27,759

And I imagine it's getting really smoky and it's hard to see.

:

01:37:27,759 --> 01:37:29,812

And I'm like going to push him.

:

01:37:29,812 --> 01:37:38,739

And instead I just don't see some like, maybe there's like bits of the tent that are now

falling down and I just like trip over some wood that fell and I just fall like maybe with

:

01:37:38,739 --> 01:37:43,883

my head like right between his legs, but like from behind just like face playing into the

dirt.

:

01:37:45,012 --> 01:37:53,231

Yeah, you fall down onto your elbows in the dirt, the fire starting to grow around you,

Bellum, what do you got for us?

:

01:37:54,232 --> 01:37:54,961

What?

:

01:37:54,961 --> 01:37:57,111

I whispered what's in the chest.

:

01:37:57,667 --> 01:37:59,378

you're gonna run over to the chest.

:

01:38:00,078 --> 01:38:10,734

Yeah, yeah, you scramble through the tent I imagine on your hands and knees, rip it open

and there's a decent amount of silver in there and a dagger.

:

01:38:10,734 --> 01:38:13,495

Okay.

:

01:38:13,952 --> 01:38:16,204

Okay, uh money into pockets?

:

01:38:16,204 --> 01:38:16,895

Because I don't have it.

:

01:38:16,895 --> 01:38:18,646

Is there a bag in there?

:

01:38:20,822 --> 01:38:22,436

No, money into pockets.

:

01:38:22,436 --> 01:38:24,623

uh

:

01:38:24,623 --> 01:38:32,477

there's plenty of skin and tint material around, but you would need a turn to like cut

like a square out to like start filling up.

:

01:38:32,477 --> 01:38:35,476

Okay, so you're just like, okay, yeah.

:

01:38:35,476 --> 01:38:42,198

as many coins into my pockets as I can without taking any sharp rocks out of my pockets.

:

01:38:43,345 --> 01:38:44,911

Yeah, great.

:

01:38:44,911 --> 01:38:49,692

then I would like to use that knife to cut a hole in the tent and step through.

:

01:38:50,305 --> 01:38:52,849

And so this would be out the side of the tent.

:

01:38:53,950 --> 01:38:54,751

the side.

:

01:38:54,751 --> 01:38:55,482

Fuck that.

:

01:38:55,482 --> 01:39:00,198

I go back to the hole I cut in the first place and uh sort of wave rock.

:

01:39:00,313 --> 01:39:03,155

Okay, old man's turn now.

:

01:39:03,155 --> 01:39:05,136

uh He has a club.

:

01:39:05,136 --> 01:39:10,690

He wheels around on you after you try to push him, but fall over and takes a swing.

:

01:39:10,690 --> 01:39:12,441

Give me agility.

:

01:39:13,722 --> 01:39:18,162

That is a 17 plus something that probably doesn't matter.

:

01:39:18,291 --> 01:39:19,261

Yeah, it doesn't matter.

:

01:39:19,261 --> 01:39:31,185

Yeah, he comes barreling at you and his legs are starting to catch on fire and it spooks

him a little bit and he stops to pat himself off instead of like even swing at you.

:

01:39:31,186 --> 01:39:32,727

It's over to you, Vrak.

:

01:39:34,459 --> 01:39:44,062

Uh, yeah, I think while he's padding, I just like do kind of a barrel roll over to the

little hole and shimmy out.

:

01:39:45,063 --> 01:39:45,538

Yeah.

:

01:39:45,538 --> 01:39:51,892

Maybe as I'm crawling out I say, I'm burning, I'm dying in here, ah nobody look for me,

I'm all burned to a crisp.

:

01:39:52,999 --> 01:39:59,146

Yeah, both of you give me, we'll do agility.

:

01:40:00,369 --> 01:40:02,071

See if you can get out of here.

:

01:40:02,298 --> 01:40:05,402

Is this to be noticed or to like literally just get out?

:

01:40:05,402 --> 01:40:11,430

uh They get a DR16 presence against me.

:

01:40:11,463 --> 01:40:12,291

Yep.

:

01:40:13,452 --> 01:40:15,523

Yeah, I got a 14 plus three, so.

:

01:40:15,523 --> 01:40:18,064

to one, so, okay.

:

01:40:19,005 --> 01:40:24,108

Yeah, the tint actually goes up in flames faster than you would think.

:

01:40:24,108 --> 01:40:25,748

It must've been dried.

:

01:40:25,748 --> 01:40:31,331

And that smoke is just blindingly giving you cover for all of them.

:

01:40:31,331 --> 01:40:38,775

And you're able to scurry off like rats up the mountain or get back down the mountain at

this point if you wanted, so.

:

01:40:39,776 --> 01:40:44,000

Well, that's a quick action with ah the thing there.

:

01:40:44,000 --> 01:40:45,922

I wasn't sure with the lamp.

:

01:40:46,503 --> 01:40:53,650

I was uh kind of running out of ideas there and it seemed like maybe even if they were

going to use me for something they would have killed me afterwards.

:

01:40:53,650 --> 01:40:55,489

ah

:

01:40:55,489 --> 01:40:57,812

was not looking good, not looking good.

:

01:40:57,933 --> 01:40:59,656

Real, real bad vibes.

:

01:40:59,656 --> 01:41:06,608

Sorry, sorry if you had a game plan and I messed it up, but it didn't, it seemed like you

were playing for time there.

:

01:41:06,644 --> 01:41:08,698

Yeah, I purely making that up as I went.

:

01:41:08,698 --> 01:41:10,132

No final plan involved.

:

01:41:10,132 --> 01:41:12,516

ah

:

01:41:12,941 --> 01:41:15,471

up the mountain or back through the gulch?

:

01:41:16,454 --> 01:41:19,305

Uh, is that knife THE knife?

:

01:41:19,704 --> 01:41:20,856

No, I don't think so.

:

01:41:20,856 --> 01:41:22,908

I look at the knife.

:

01:41:24,171 --> 01:41:24,958

Look magic.

:

01:41:24,958 --> 01:41:26,911

know, I thought I would ask.

:

01:41:26,911 --> 01:41:30,598

So, know, untold riches.

:

01:41:30,598 --> 01:41:33,215

amongst the rocks in my pockets?

:

01:41:34,577 --> 01:41:37,637

Let's do a retcon agility to see.

:

01:41:38,448 --> 01:41:40,983

It's very, very funny.

:

01:41:41,984 --> 01:41:46,971

17 minus one is 18 and the DR is minus two.

:

01:41:48,244 --> 01:41:56,299

18 times 10 uh or 16 actually, 160, I have a minus one to agility.

:

01:41:56,299 --> 01:41:58,209

Yeah, 160.

:

01:41:58,836 --> 01:41:59,844

Love that.

:

01:42:00,597 --> 01:42:03,543

Yeah, you're rich compared to where you started now.

:

01:42:03,664 --> 01:42:04,955

I jingle.

:

01:42:05,956 --> 01:42:07,683

My money does not fold.

:

01:42:08,207 --> 01:42:13,912

You sound like a reindeer over there, just jingling along with all them silver bells in

your pockets.

:

01:42:14,613 --> 01:42:16,054

Hell yeah, brother.

:

01:42:16,760 --> 01:42:20,535

Anyways, do we want to follow these guys up or go back the other way?

:

01:42:21,809 --> 01:42:22,650

Uhhh...

:

01:42:23,258 --> 01:42:24,280

You know...

:

01:42:26,112 --> 01:42:27,605

My life's kinda shit.

:

01:42:27,605 --> 01:42:37,124

Maybe if that knife we get uh makes us untoardly, untoldly rich, ah you know, maybe it'll

make it less shitty.

:

01:42:37,410 --> 01:42:41,616

Oh, no, I meant like, you remember where the paths split?

:

01:42:41,958 --> 01:42:45,643

We could keep going up on that side of the mountain.

:

01:42:46,846 --> 01:42:47,081

Or-

:

01:42:47,081 --> 01:42:49,373

because, you know, the guy isn't here.

:

01:42:49,373 --> 01:42:51,440

So maybe the guy's up the other path.

:

01:42:51,440 --> 01:42:53,932

Well, didn't they all go up the mountain this way?

:

01:42:54,653 --> 01:42:56,315

Did I misunderstand this, Nick?

:

01:42:56,315 --> 01:43:00,568

Are there two paths up the mountain, one through the gulch, or is the gulch a dead end?

:

01:43:00,923 --> 01:43:07,195

No, the Gulch let out into this clearing and now you just have the path that curves up

around the mountain now.

:

01:43:07,238 --> 01:43:15,576

So we could get on a path to the top of the mountain through the gulch, or we could go

back to the first path we were on, which still goes up the mountain.

:

01:43:16,425 --> 01:43:17,929

they would meet here.

:

01:43:18,895 --> 01:43:20,128

they meet here.

:

01:43:21,129 --> 01:43:21,833

Got it.

:

01:43:21,833 --> 01:43:22,517

Great.

:

01:43:22,517 --> 01:43:23,599

One path.

:

01:43:24,266 --> 01:43:24,876

Problem solved.

:

01:43:24,876 --> 01:43:29,561

you could scale like and come up instead of taking the path.

:

01:43:29,561 --> 01:43:30,906

to get the drop on him.

:

01:43:31,619 --> 01:43:35,094

I do have this grappling hook that I bought before we left.

:

01:43:35,130 --> 01:43:36,887

grappling hook!

:

01:43:37,162 --> 01:43:38,684

I was waiting for it.

:

01:43:38,962 --> 01:43:44,713

So yeah, when he said I got a grappling hook, I was like, that's gonna come in handy.

:

01:43:45,173 --> 01:43:45,979

Damn.

:

01:43:46,405 --> 01:43:48,849

Alright, onward and upward.

:

01:43:48,911 --> 01:43:54,241

Maybe this will let us bypass some monsters or more cultists or whatever.

:

01:43:56,211 --> 01:44:00,134

I am now concerned that I let that bat thing go.

:

01:44:00,618 --> 01:44:03,014

Bat-ox-crow.

:

01:44:03,090 --> 01:44:08,129

I kind of wondered about that, but, you know, what's done is done.

:

01:44:08,129 --> 01:44:10,027

No beating yourself up about it.

:

01:44:10,517 --> 01:44:11,749

We'll do our best.

:

01:44:12,133 --> 01:44:12,993

Yeah.

:

01:44:13,293 --> 01:44:14,914

Yeah, we're good in a pinch.

:

01:44:15,715 --> 01:44:18,435

So far, we've been doing all right.

:

01:44:18,736 --> 01:44:28,170

We killed one of them, and then I was in the tent, and you did the thing with the lamp,

and then I think I tricked them pretty good by shouting that I was dying and burning up in

:

01:44:28,170 --> 01:44:29,941

there, so I don't think they'll come looking for me.

:

01:44:29,941 --> 01:44:30,922

ah

:

01:44:30,922 --> 01:44:33,165

hear you talk and they attack.

:

01:44:33,766 --> 01:44:36,910

just kidding.

:

01:44:36,910 --> 01:44:39,684

So going up the mountainside with the grappling hook.

:

01:44:39,684 --> 01:44:41,736

Okay.

:

01:44:42,558 --> 01:44:46,322

So let's do some skill checks here.

:

01:44:48,148 --> 01:44:54,649

We will do, let's get some agility for the grappling hook throw.

:

01:44:55,650 --> 01:44:57,062

automatic fail if it drops.

:

01:44:57,062 --> 01:44:58,581

hope do your men have?

:

01:44:59,420 --> 01:45:00,412

What's that?

:

01:45:01,413 --> 01:45:03,888

Nothing in Warhammer 40k.

:

01:45:03,888 --> 01:45:13,114

I can't remember if it's in one of the actual books, but ah my friends always used to yell

if you drop your dice off the table, like if you can't keep your dice on the table, what

:

01:45:13,114 --> 01:45:14,776

hope do your men have?

:

01:45:15,134 --> 01:45:16,224

I like that.

:

01:45:17,921 --> 01:45:22,121

Yeah, it was a 15 plus three.

:

01:45:22,121 --> 01:45:23,241

So 18.

:

01:45:23,628 --> 01:45:32,542

Yeah, you get a good lock in and now both of you give me agility to client or excuse me,

give me agility or strength.

:

01:45:33,543 --> 01:45:35,384

15 agility again.

:

01:45:35,491 --> 01:45:37,726

is still technically better for me.

:

01:45:39,947 --> 01:45:44,547

8 minus 1 is 7, dr minus 2.

:

01:45:46,228 --> 01:45:47,482

Still not great.

:

01:45:47,498 --> 01:45:48,389

Yeah.

:

01:45:49,572 --> 01:45:54,559

Okay, so Vrak, you go first or does Balam go first?

:

01:45:57,653 --> 01:46:06,360

I think I have more hit points and if there's something up there I'm like, yeah, okay, you

know, if there's something up there I'll kind of, you know, I'll hold them off until you

:

01:46:06,360 --> 01:46:07,321

catch up.

:

01:46:07,786 --> 01:46:08,597

Yeah.

:

01:46:09,441 --> 01:46:11,243

Bellum, give me a presence.

:

01:46:12,244 --> 01:46:14,924

2 plus 1 dr minus 2.

:

01:46:16,917 --> 01:46:17,697

Okay.

:

01:46:18,558 --> 01:46:19,499

Yeah.

:

01:46:19,499 --> 01:46:36,061

Without agility and your lack of presence, you have just started and you grab on and

you're starting to climb and you hit your elbow on an outcropping and it fucking explodes

:

01:46:36,061 --> 01:46:41,235

with pain through your body and you start to lose your grip and fall.

:

01:46:41,235 --> 01:46:43,717

Vrak, give me a presence.

:

01:46:45,238 --> 01:46:47,566

14 with no modifiers.

:

01:46:47,877 --> 01:46:51,317

Okay, you see this happening, you see Bellum slipping.

:

01:46:51,317 --> 01:46:52,478

What do you do?

:

01:46:53,750 --> 01:46:54,734

Hmm.

:

01:46:55,735 --> 01:46:56,858

my elbow.

:

01:46:58,273 --> 01:46:59,527

It's more like, ahhhh!

:

01:46:59,527 --> 01:47:00,697

um

:

01:47:00,977 --> 01:47:06,221

Yeah.

:

01:47:06,361 --> 01:47:16,389

If I can, very quickly with my hook hand, because I don't really have to use strength for

that, I wrap that around the rope so that it would just like hanging by my hook hand.

:

01:47:16,389 --> 01:47:24,696

And then I kind of slip my backpack off or my pack and hold it down with my other hand to

kind of like extend it farther and I'm like, grab on buddy.

:

01:47:24,696 --> 01:47:25,816

I got you.

:

01:47:25,985 --> 01:47:29,832

Cool, I'll reduce your DR by two for that.

:

01:47:29,832 --> 01:47:33,256

Go ahead and give me agility to make that happen.

:

01:47:34,257 --> 01:47:34,749

Vrak.

:

01:47:34,749 --> 01:47:35,552

Sorry.

:

01:47:36,553 --> 01:47:41,603

Well, it's a 6 plus 3, so 9.

:

01:47:41,603 --> 01:47:45,709

And then you said you'll give me a minus 2, or like a lowered 2.

:

01:47:46,352 --> 01:47:47,552

one below.

:

01:47:48,434 --> 01:47:51,696

Bellum, you fall a short distance.

:

01:47:51,696 --> 01:47:54,118

Give me a coin flip for damage.

:

01:47:56,633 --> 01:47:58,206

Have it be a D4, coward.

:

01:47:59,898 --> 01:48:04,489

ah Heads, the basilisks are heads, two-headed.

:

01:48:04,489 --> 01:48:09,520

ah What do you think, does armor protect against fall damage?

:

01:48:10,784 --> 01:48:12,407

How about this?

:

01:48:12,407 --> 01:48:20,765

Give me a toughness and if you survive, if the toughness is a success then it does.

:

01:48:22,477 --> 01:48:23,794

I do not succeed at toughness.

:

01:48:23,794 --> 01:48:25,825

got a seven minus one is six.

:

01:48:25,825 --> 01:48:27,772

So you lose two points.

:

01:48:27,777 --> 01:48:29,514

I have a hit point left.

:

01:48:30,515 --> 01:48:31,565

my elbow!

:

01:48:31,565 --> 01:48:33,156

Ah, my back!

:

01:48:33,772 --> 01:48:34,835

my neck!

:

01:48:36,272 --> 01:48:38,376

Hey, you okay buddy?

:

01:48:38,376 --> 01:48:39,507

Hold on.

:

01:48:39,601 --> 01:48:41,777

Well, I'm not dead, so I-

:

01:48:43,505 --> 01:48:55,753

And uh here, hold on, I uh lift my bag that I was holding down for him up and I bite into

one of the straps to hold it with my mouth and I rummage around and then I drop down my

:

01:48:55,753 --> 01:48:57,253

medicine box.

:

01:48:57,325 --> 01:48:59,334

I'm like, here, use one of these.

:

01:48:59,465 --> 01:49:01,376

I think it has five uses.

:

01:49:02,257 --> 01:49:02,915

Where is this?

:

01:49:02,915 --> 01:49:04,209

Medicine box?

:

01:49:05,210 --> 01:49:06,605

That's what it was called.

:

01:49:07,606 --> 01:49:08,789

equipment.

:

01:49:10,551 --> 01:49:16,104

Yeah, Medicine Box, 15 silver, stops bleeding, infection, plus D6HP.

:

01:49:18,755 --> 01:49:20,395

for uses.

:

01:49:21,235 --> 01:49:22,535

That's pretty cheap.

:

01:49:23,115 --> 01:49:25,255

Yeah, yeah, that's a good investment.

:

01:49:25,298 --> 01:49:26,722

full health there.

:

01:49:27,377 --> 01:49:28,432

Probably.

:

01:49:30,022 --> 01:49:33,867

Yeah, he drops down the medicine box and.

:

01:49:33,867 --> 01:49:36,008

ace me with it by dropping it on my leg.

:

01:49:36,008 --> 01:49:37,628

Yeah, and kill you.

:

01:49:37,628 --> 01:49:40,188

It's like hit your toe and you die.

:

01:49:41,659 --> 01:49:48,121

Yeah, I start bandaging up my elbow and bandaging up my back and bandaging up my neck.

:

01:49:48,584 --> 01:50:04,090

So you're you're starting to bandage yourself and Vrock you hear a strange Crying sound

and you see the oxen thing come swooping in Toward Bellum as he's been injured um You can

:

01:50:04,090 --> 01:50:10,371

yeah, just give me that initiative role just in case you roll a one So a d6 plus your

agility

:

01:50:10,371 --> 01:50:12,826

3 plus 3 6.

:

01:50:12,826 --> 01:50:15,497

Okay, you see this happening and it's coming in.

:

01:50:15,497 --> 01:50:17,874

What do you got for us?

:

01:50:19,341 --> 01:50:20,453

Hmm.

:

01:50:21,380 --> 01:50:22,461

Hmm.

:

01:50:26,231 --> 01:50:33,794

I think I'm gonna wait until it's like kind of under me and then I'm gonna just undo my

hook from the rope.

:

01:50:33,794 --> 01:50:42,967

Actually, no, I'm gonna like try to loosen it so it kind of slides down like the rope, you

know, it's like wrapped around my hook and it kind of, yeah, like a little rappel line and

:

01:50:42,967 --> 01:50:44,918

I just want to drop straight on them.

:

01:50:45,338 --> 01:50:47,669

Just squish that little bastard.

:

01:50:47,878 --> 01:50:53,284

Yeah, it's coming down and give me strength for that one.

:

01:50:53,284 --> 01:50:54,503

So this is kind of a grapple.

:

01:50:54,503 --> 01:50:55,324

Yeah.

:

01:50:56,835 --> 01:50:59,323

That's 19 minus 2.

:

01:51:00,328 --> 01:51:03,814

Wow, yeah, you fall straight on it.

:

01:51:03,814 --> 01:51:07,371

It's between your legs kind of, and you hit on the ground.

:

01:51:07,371 --> 01:51:09,243

How much is VRAQAWAY?

:

01:51:10,244 --> 01:51:11,361

You're lazy.

:

01:51:11,936 --> 01:51:13,996

Yeah, I'm lazy.

:

01:51:14,036 --> 01:51:18,876

I imagine he he's probably kind of like I don't know.

:

01:51:18,876 --> 01:51:21,556

He does a lot of gardening, I guess, if he's an herb master.

:

01:51:21,556 --> 01:51:23,096

So he's probably like average weight.

:

01:51:23,096 --> 01:51:27,896

But I've also got, you know, a bunch of shit in my bag.

:

01:51:27,896 --> 01:51:29,916

I guess I don't actually have that much shit in my bag.

:

01:51:29,916 --> 01:51:33,536

I would say he maybe weighs like 165 pounds.

:

01:51:33,536 --> 01:51:35,224

Just average dude.

:

01:51:35,245 --> 01:51:39,428

Okay, yeah, give me a D4 minus one.

:

01:51:40,429 --> 01:51:42,386

It's a two, it's a one.

:

01:51:42,386 --> 01:51:43,707

Okay, one.

:

01:51:43,707 --> 01:51:46,450

Yeah, you have it grappled though.

:

01:51:46,450 --> 01:51:53,475

It is under you and it's going to try to claw your legs.

:

01:51:53,876 --> 01:51:55,858

Go ahead and roll agility.

:

01:51:57,997 --> 01:52:00,917

13 plus 3 so 16

:

01:52:01,106 --> 01:52:05,817

Okay, it is cutting into you, but it's not making purchase.

:

01:52:05,817 --> 01:52:08,242

It's being squeezed under you.

:

01:52:09,446 --> 01:52:11,369

Bellum, you're healing yourself.

:

01:52:12,699 --> 01:52:15,433

Yep, well, I could stop, probably.

:

01:52:15,433 --> 01:52:17,076

that's really up to you.

:

01:52:17,967 --> 01:52:23,961

Do I think it'll take longer than two full rounds to finish up what I'm up to?

:

01:52:25,603 --> 01:52:28,055

I knock it off and go in with the crowbar.

:

01:52:28,626 --> 01:52:32,654

Okay, it's between Vrox legs and.

:

01:52:33,019 --> 01:52:34,194

Don't move!

:

01:52:34,512 --> 01:52:38,286

Okay, all right.

:

01:52:39,228 --> 01:52:41,582

Strength, critical fail.

:

01:52:41,582 --> 01:52:42,802

kidding.

:

01:52:43,012 --> 01:52:44,253

Five rock.

:

01:52:45,495 --> 01:52:48,358

Okay, yeah, what's the damage on that?

:

01:52:48,817 --> 01:52:50,337

It's like a D4.

:

01:52:52,358 --> 01:52:55,265

Okay, D4 minus two.

:

01:52:55,338 --> 01:52:57,217

minus your D2.

:

01:52:58,736 --> 01:53:02,313

So a minus is two, so one.

:

01:53:02,313 --> 01:53:04,236

yay.

:

01:53:04,366 --> 01:53:05,758

A little bonk.

:

01:53:06,521 --> 01:53:07,422

Yeah.

:

01:53:07,724 --> 01:53:09,476

All right, Vrock, go ahead.

:

01:53:10,585 --> 01:53:15,743

Uh, yeah, so I imagine I kind of got him like pinned between my knees with his head going,

I guess in front of me.

:

01:53:15,743 --> 01:53:20,981

Uh, I just want to take my hook and swing right down into his mouth.

:

01:53:21,990 --> 01:53:23,799

Yeah, strength.

:

01:53:24,800 --> 01:53:27,136

That's an 8 minus 2, so 6.

:

01:53:28,069 --> 01:53:37,200

Yeah, you know, with a cold shot like that, you're kind of like rooting for something

specific, but you just like wiggling around like a blender, but it's not really cutting

:

01:53:37,200 --> 01:53:38,211

into it.

:

01:53:38,262 --> 01:53:40,258

glance off of his beak maybe.

:

01:53:40,857 --> 01:53:46,987

Yeah, yeah, and the beak reaches up straight for your crotch and tries to bite.

:

01:53:46,987 --> 01:53:48,628

Give me agility.

:

01:53:50,588 --> 01:53:53,551

that's a nat 20 if that's a thing in this game.

:

01:53:53,743 --> 01:53:55,018

It sure is.

:

01:53:56,019 --> 01:54:09,659

Yeah, so it comes up to bite your crotch and you stick your hook in its mouth and it can't

bite down and you can get a free attack in right now, yeah.

:

01:54:10,191 --> 01:54:12,390

Yeah, I think I, ah

:

01:54:13,974 --> 01:54:17,039

Maybe take my torch and I just...

:

01:54:17,039 --> 01:54:17,840

Well, it's not lit.

:

01:54:17,840 --> 01:54:18,501

Never mind.

:

01:54:18,501 --> 01:54:22,127

I take those eyeball marbles and I'm like, choke on your own eyes, you bitch.

:

01:54:22,127 --> 01:54:23,629

And I just pour them in his mouth.

:

01:54:23,629 --> 01:54:24,561

So he chokes.

:

01:54:24,561 --> 01:54:28,639

just like, you're holding it open with the hook and you, yeah, shove them in.

:

01:54:28,639 --> 01:54:30,621

Give me strength for that.

:

01:54:32,404 --> 01:54:33,981

Nice to meet you.

:

01:54:35,188 --> 01:54:36,329

No!

:

01:54:36,526 --> 01:54:40,367

That's 16 minus 2, so 14.

:

01:54:40,545 --> 01:54:42,307

Yeah, you shove them down.

:

01:54:42,307 --> 01:54:48,917

He's like choking on him and probably take a second to choke.

:

01:54:48,917 --> 01:54:51,820

So we'll go over to you, Bellum.

:

01:54:52,821 --> 01:54:54,884

Have you played Bloodborne?

:

01:54:55,914 --> 01:54:56,694

Me?

:

01:54:57,694 --> 01:54:58,697

Yeah, yes.

:

01:54:58,697 --> 01:55:04,354

Yeah, yeah.

:

01:55:06,144 --> 01:55:07,878

Just thought of that just now.

:

01:55:08,502 --> 01:55:09,456

Hell yeah.

:

01:55:09,493 --> 01:55:12,092

Um, I give him a, I give him a bark.

:

01:55:13,673 --> 01:55:14,098

Maybe.

:

01:55:14,098 --> 01:55:14,802

it.

:

01:55:16,777 --> 01:55:19,090

I miss, I got a three.

:

01:55:19,207 --> 01:55:20,068

okay.

:

01:55:20,068 --> 01:55:24,613

You come dangerously close to Vrock's knee and smack the ground.

:

01:55:24,613 --> 01:55:27,666

um It's still choking.

:

01:55:27,666 --> 01:55:35,264

It's gonna get negative two on its CR, but it's going to try to dig its nails into your

thighs again, Vrock.

:

01:55:35,325 --> 01:55:37,066

Give me that agility.

:

01:55:38,530 --> 01:55:41,070

I know that's a nine plus three.

:

01:55:41,070 --> 01:55:42,814

I guess that's 12.

:

01:55:43,124 --> 01:55:46,401

Yep, so you are able to fend it off.

:

01:55:47,874 --> 01:55:51,533

All right, Vrak, you have one last round probably here.

:

01:55:52,337 --> 01:55:58,877

Yeah, I, uh, I think I, uh, you know, I still got my hook in his mouth.

:

01:55:58,877 --> 01:56:01,517

Those marbles are in there and he's kind of trying to gargle them up.

:

01:56:01,517 --> 01:56:09,097

And I just like with my free hand hit the bottom of his beak, shove it up as I like twist

my hook out.

:

01:56:09,097 --> 01:56:14,464

Uh, and I just try to hold his mouth shut so that he chokes on them for final, for real

life.

:

01:56:14,464 --> 01:56:15,018

Beautiful.

:

01:56:15,018 --> 01:56:17,411

Give me the strength.

:

01:56:18,779 --> 01:56:22,416

it's a 15 minus 2, which is still a 12.

:

01:56:22,836 --> 01:56:41,794

Yeah, I'll let you hold that as a grapple and you hold his beak shut as you feel the life

drain from it slowly and it's thrashing and then the thrashing it intensifies for a second

:

01:56:41,814 --> 01:56:52,278

and then disappears and under you he starts to turn to black goo and these eyeballs and

his wings hit the ground.

:

01:56:54,120 --> 01:56:54,581

Sick.

:

01:56:54,581 --> 01:57:00,533

is like, you know, you're never going to run out of eyeballs if I just keep killing these

guys with more eyeballs.

:

01:57:00,533 --> 01:57:02,520

There you go, there you go.

:

01:57:03,254 --> 01:57:04,360

It's a business.

:

01:57:05,168 --> 01:57:06,259

Yeah.

:

01:57:06,359 --> 01:57:08,021

Man, if you could farm these things?

:

01:57:08,021 --> 01:57:08,842

Holy crap.

:

01:57:08,842 --> 01:57:09,653

Domesticated?

:

01:57:09,653 --> 01:57:13,266

Man, you can make a killing on whatever these weird eyes do.

:

01:57:14,267 --> 01:57:24,501

With that noise, um you do see the camp start to materialize and people come running

towards your location.

:

01:57:26,282 --> 01:57:33,085

And in front of them, you see Sarai sprinting your way.

:

01:57:34,851 --> 01:57:35,981

That doesn't look good.

:

01:57:35,981 --> 01:57:38,729

I think it's time we beat it.

:

01:57:40,304 --> 01:57:42,126

I guess we beat feet.

:

01:57:42,468 --> 01:57:46,835

The whole camp comes running back because one of the bad things makes noise.

:

01:57:47,643 --> 01:57:49,289

I mean, it was screaming.

:

01:57:50,054 --> 01:57:51,771

They always screaming.

:

01:57:52,944 --> 01:57:54,167

They live here.

:

01:57:54,565 --> 01:57:57,730

Not the whole camp, just Sarai, how about that?

:

01:57:58,813 --> 01:58:00,515

And she's screaming.

:

01:58:00,757 --> 01:58:01,617

Yeah.

:

01:58:01,779 --> 01:58:05,644

You have your grappling hook still in set up there.

:

01:58:07,290 --> 01:58:10,346

Yep, Bellum, it seems like your strength and what-all ain't so good.

:

01:58:10,346 --> 01:58:16,339

Uh, can I get a sense of how many grappling hook things we'd have to pass to climb up?

:

01:58:17,915 --> 01:58:21,001

I would only make you do one for the whole thing, so.

:

01:58:21,049 --> 01:58:22,089

Okay.

:

01:58:22,189 --> 01:58:23,649

Uh, what do you think?

:

01:58:24,149 --> 01:58:28,069

My strength is not good, but we can also use agility and mine is excellent.

:

01:58:28,509 --> 01:58:29,849

I think you are.

:

01:58:29,849 --> 01:58:30,589

Yes.

:

01:58:32,400 --> 01:58:35,651

I see, so that was a condemnation of the entire party.

:

01:58:36,346 --> 01:58:36,826

Yeah.

:

01:58:36,826 --> 01:58:40,972

you know, just, if we try to climb up and don't make it, we're kind of screwed.

:

01:58:40,972 --> 01:58:44,376

But if we uh run up the path, I imagine we can...

:

01:58:44,997 --> 01:58:45,478

Okay.

:

01:58:45,478 --> 01:58:46,129

All right.

:

01:58:46,129 --> 01:58:47,420

Yeah.

:

01:58:47,741 --> 01:58:48,862

Up the hook.

:

01:58:49,964 --> 01:58:50,475

All right.

:

01:58:50,475 --> 01:58:51,346

Let's roll.

:

01:58:51,346 --> 01:58:52,447

Let's do it.

:

01:58:52,688 --> 01:58:53,719

Heave-ho.

:

01:58:55,696 --> 01:58:56,513

I fail.

:

01:58:58,189 --> 01:59:02,068

I got a nat 20 on agility or strength, whatever.

:

01:59:03,291 --> 01:59:05,264

Okay.

:

01:59:05,264 --> 01:59:10,250

You are able to bring Bellum up with you.

:

01:59:10,250 --> 01:59:12,312

Like you see him struggling.

:

01:59:12,533 --> 01:59:13,293

Yeah.

:

01:59:13,411 --> 01:59:15,242

Buddy, you're kind of small.

:

01:59:15,242 --> 01:59:16,332

Just hop in my pack.

:

01:59:16,332 --> 01:59:17,863

We'll see if I can pull this off.

:

01:59:17,863 --> 01:59:20,744

You know, I'm not so strong, but I'm pretty dexterous.

:

01:59:20,744 --> 01:59:25,767

I think I can like stretch my feet around and get good footing on these, these little

outcroppings.

:

01:59:25,767 --> 01:59:27,767

Maybe that one that you busted your elbow on.

:

01:59:27,767 --> 01:59:30,109

Uh, I think I can do it.

:

01:59:30,109 --> 01:59:31,298

Let's, let's go.

:

01:59:31,298 --> 01:59:35,712

you climb up and then you hold the wall and I'll grab the grappling hook and put it up

one.

:

01:59:36,791 --> 01:59:37,723

Okay.

:

01:59:38,571 --> 01:59:39,140

Yeah.

:

01:59:39,140 --> 01:59:44,332

together like a little dig, dug type thing or whatever those ice climbers are.

:

01:59:44,332 --> 02:00:00,453

And yeah, you get up there and you look down as Sarai gets to the edge of the cliff, your

dog sitting next to her now staring up at you, wondering why you abandoned him and.

:

02:00:00,453 --> 02:00:02,130

around boy, go around.

:

02:00:02,523 --> 02:00:05,517

Yeah, the dog stands there.

:

02:00:05,517 --> 02:00:09,961

She doesn't do anything to the dog, but she shouts up at you.

:

02:00:11,985 --> 02:00:16,670

hell, well, she's always whispering, but it's loud.

:

02:00:17,351 --> 02:00:22,337

It's like, why did you burn down my camp?

:

02:00:23,321 --> 02:00:25,884

Well, technically the fire did it.

:

02:00:26,016 --> 02:00:27,227

we didn't really...

:

02:00:27,227 --> 02:00:28,791

Oh, okay, yeah.

:

02:00:28,791 --> 02:00:29,953

Alright, alright.

:

02:00:29,953 --> 02:00:31,695

Sorry, I can't answer.

:

02:00:31,776 --> 02:00:33,798

Don't have a go- Yeah.

:

02:00:35,931 --> 02:00:39,334

Yeah, she just starts ranting like a mad woman down there.

:

02:00:39,334 --> 02:00:41,967

She's like, speak to me of mother's love.

:

02:00:41,967 --> 02:00:46,410

You spoke to me of what is right and good.

:

02:00:46,411 --> 02:00:48,532

We've ascended past that.

:

02:00:48,572 --> 02:00:52,015

You seem to understand and you run away.

:

02:00:52,496 --> 02:00:54,097

Shouting at you, Vrak.

:

02:00:55,192 --> 02:00:56,033

But...

:

02:00:56,056 --> 02:00:58,586

Yeah, it seemed like you were gonna do something bad to me, so...

:

02:00:58,586 --> 02:00:59,818

Oh, okay.

:

02:01:01,432 --> 02:01:05,356

And she starts screaming, the world my son is already a corpse.

:

02:01:05,356 --> 02:01:06,898

We are all corpses.

:

02:01:06,898 --> 02:01:08,840

It's a dying world.

:

02:01:09,401 --> 02:01:10,963

Leave them be.

:

02:01:10,963 --> 02:01:12,584

Leave them be.

:

02:01:13,635 --> 02:01:14,583

Yeah, Vrak?

:

02:01:14,583 --> 02:01:16,683

that's true, I just want the knife though.

:

02:01:16,951 --> 02:01:24,186

Yeah, yeah, Vroc can't not respond, but he's like, okay, and he starts like whispering to

himself.

:

02:01:24,186 --> 02:01:30,790

He's like, look lady, I know you can't hear me, but I, and I kind of agree with what

you're saying, but I don't like the way you're going about it.

:

02:01:30,790 --> 02:01:33,482

And if there's no right, then like, I'm not really wrong, right?

:

02:01:33,482 --> 02:01:37,265

So like, you know, you don't really have a leg to stand on.

:

02:01:37,265 --> 02:01:40,097

You're philosophically undermining your own argument here.

:

02:01:40,097 --> 02:01:41,558

Uh, yeah, yeah.

:

02:01:41,558 --> 02:01:42,438

All right.

:

02:01:42,438 --> 02:01:42,838

Okay.

:

02:01:42,838 --> 02:01:45,660

I think that, that got the mental pressure off and out.

:

02:01:45,660 --> 02:01:47,091

Let's, let's keep going.

:

02:01:47,454 --> 02:01:49,756

Yeah, she's like, Isaac does not weep.

:

02:01:49,756 --> 02:01:51,557

Isaac does not weep.

:

02:01:51,557 --> 02:01:56,191

The absolute requires everything over and over and over again.

:

02:01:56,191 --> 02:02:03,306

And then the people come out after her, the cultists, and they start shouting along with

her.

:

02:02:03,427 --> 02:02:09,912

And she drops to her knees and just says these things over and over again.

:

02:02:09,912 --> 02:02:16,277

And you hear them echoing her almost in a chant and you ascend.

:

02:02:17,697 --> 02:02:19,230

I think maybe they're cheering us on.

:

02:02:19,230 --> 02:02:21,705

That's how I'm gonna tell myself what's happening.

:

02:02:22,308 --> 02:02:23,890

Get some motivation.

:

02:02:24,212 --> 02:02:25,143

Yeah.

:

02:02:27,240 --> 02:02:31,811

Those clouds before they do start to trickle some rain.

:

02:02:32,371 --> 02:02:36,352

It's acid rain here, of course, like it sizzles and it hits your skin.

:

02:02:36,352 --> 02:02:40,893

This atmosphere is dying and the sky's rotten, basically.

:

02:02:40,893 --> 02:02:55,817

uh The bruised looking clouds peel back and you do see that sickening yellow behind it

every once in a while, but it's getting a little darker and darker as you get to the top.

:

02:02:58,077 --> 02:03:01,677

There, the rock is a void at this point.

:

02:03:01,677 --> 02:03:08,817

It's blackened so much by who knows, like the fire, maybe it's volcanic, but it's like

you're climbing a void.

:

02:03:08,817 --> 02:03:15,217

It's even hard to figure out where to put your hands at times because it's so

obsidian-like.

:

02:03:15,617 --> 02:03:18,797

And you get to the top.

:

02:03:20,017 --> 02:03:22,337

Do you just crest over?

:

02:03:23,338 --> 02:03:25,272

think we do a...

:

02:03:27,358 --> 02:03:32,804

What was that World War II meme with the little guy with the...

:

02:03:32,804 --> 02:03:34,746

Killroy, yeah we Killroy it.

:

02:03:34,973 --> 02:03:41,827

Okay, you peek your head over one second here.

:

02:03:44,046 --> 02:03:44,955

Let's see.

:

02:03:45,956 --> 02:03:51,522

pasting rules in Google Docs with descriptions is a bad idea.

:

02:03:53,806 --> 02:03:55,528

Just like, where is that?

:

02:03:56,529 --> 02:03:57,789

Okay, yeah.

:

02:03:57,810 --> 02:04:04,313

You peek over the top and the summit is flat.

:

02:04:04,313 --> 02:04:06,474

It's like a plateau on the top.

:

02:04:06,474 --> 02:04:08,335

The expanse of blackened rock is there.

:

02:04:08,335 --> 02:04:19,761

You see a massive bonfire and silhouetted in that bonfire is a towering large figure in

some sort of...

:

02:04:19,939 --> 02:04:29,954

robe and he holds a dagger at his waist and there is a 12 year old child standing next to

him holding his hand.

:

02:04:29,954 --> 02:04:42,241

It looks like they're conversing and the dagger nervously flips in his fink between his

hands and he's kind of wiggling it a little bit like with some anxiety.

:

02:04:43,641 --> 02:04:44,457

Frick.

:

02:04:45,458 --> 02:04:48,099

Can I get one of those addictive healing things?

:

02:04:48,712 --> 02:04:50,068

yeah, sure.

:

02:04:50,866 --> 02:04:51,736

Thanks.

:

02:04:53,885 --> 02:04:54,638

What do you want to do?

:

02:04:54,638 --> 02:04:56,033

We gonna?

:

02:04:56,238 --> 02:04:57,612

I chug that thing.

:

02:04:58,204 --> 02:04:59,043

Okay.

:

02:05:00,966 --> 02:05:06,035

since the medicine box, not gonna have time to do it on this sheer cliff face.

:

02:05:06,938 --> 02:05:09,292

I gained six HP back.

:

02:05:09,414 --> 02:05:10,035

Nice.

:

02:05:10,035 --> 02:05:13,341

eh It's really good man.

:

02:05:13,402 --> 02:05:15,870

Like, it's so fucking good.

:

02:05:15,870 --> 02:05:18,594

I cannot wait for my next one.

:

02:05:18,895 --> 02:05:23,183

Maybe I'll be a little clumsy in this fight just to make sure I can get a little.

:

02:05:23,183 --> 02:05:24,263

You

:

02:05:24,720 --> 02:05:42,827

You, yeah, as you sip that you see Isaac uh sit down in front of the flames and Abraham

leans over his body and ties him to a wooden brace.

:

02:05:42,927 --> 02:05:46,548

And it's hard to see because it's silhouetted.

:

02:05:46,749 --> 02:05:49,349

You can't see their faces or anything.

:

02:05:49,687 --> 02:05:55,545

Ibram holds up the dagger and it's shaking in his grasp.

:

02:05:56,546 --> 02:05:57,377

Hmm.

:

02:05:58,464 --> 02:06:01,805

You think he can, like, sling that thing out of his hand?

:

02:06:03,343 --> 02:06:04,244

Awesome idea.

:

02:06:04,244 --> 02:06:09,611

ah You got any of those eyeball marbles?

:

02:06:09,920 --> 02:06:13,858

yeah, and I hold out a little leather pouch and I just kinda hold it open.

:

02:06:13,951 --> 02:06:16,792

are- I do the thing.

:

02:06:17,491 --> 02:06:18,321

Yeah.

:

02:06:19,343 --> 02:06:20,323

Yeah.

:

02:06:20,644 --> 02:06:26,008

Give me the agility or sorry, presence.

:

02:06:26,501 --> 02:06:28,594

an important presence roll.

:

02:06:29,216 --> 02:06:31,097

What's the DR on this?

:

02:06:31,721 --> 02:06:33,464

It's a little tiny thing.

:

02:06:33,464 --> 02:06:34,405

Yeah.

:

02:06:35,311 --> 02:06:35,508

16.

:

02:06:35,508 --> 02:06:37,691

All right, I reduce it by two.

:

02:06:39,347 --> 02:06:43,147

And I get a 13 plus one.

:

02:06:43,250 --> 02:06:52,723

So at it, you see the marble flying through and it hits his hand and the hand explodes.

:

02:06:52,723 --> 02:07:04,187

He didn't have a good grip on this anyway, not like his hand explodes, it opens and the

dagger falls down and sticks into the stone.

:

02:07:04,468 --> 02:07:06,028

And when it does.

:

02:07:06,408 --> 02:07:13,879

you see cracks illuminate from earth, just spiral out like a spider web from where it hits

the stone.

:

02:07:13,879 --> 02:07:17,223

And you hear a wh- almost like lightning.

:

02:07:18,224 --> 02:07:19,067

And.

:

02:07:21,418 --> 02:07:31,406

The sky above the fire tears open and a strange yet red glow emits from it.

:

02:07:31,598 --> 02:07:38,681

And through it, there is a massive grinding intersecting rusted iron wheels.

:

02:07:38,681 --> 02:07:44,204

And there's a pale fire in the middle of it that peeks through this hole in reality.

:

02:07:44,204 --> 02:07:57,830

And the wheels are turning and the eye opens up and it's actually thousands of other

smaller eyes and they dart frantically around and a voice erupts into your head that you

:

02:07:57,830 --> 02:08:01,653

do not quite understand at first, but it knocks you over.

:

02:08:01,653 --> 02:08:03,699

Can you both give me a toughness?

:

02:08:04,617 --> 02:08:07,097

Does it say be not afraid?

:

02:08:09,237 --> 02:08:12,857

Fuck, I got a 12 with a minus one is 11.

:

02:08:13,044 --> 02:08:13,917

Okay.

:

02:08:14,048 --> 02:08:14,473

Yeah.

:

02:08:14,473 --> 02:08:17,512

ah No, sorry.

:

02:08:17,512 --> 02:08:18,947

No, please continue.

:

02:08:19,110 --> 02:08:22,201

I got a 10 with a plus two, whatever that means.

:

02:08:23,666 --> 02:08:25,387

Okay, you pass.

:

02:08:25,387 --> 02:08:34,682

Vrak, this thing addresses Ibram and you hear it rumble through your body.

:

02:08:34,682 --> 02:08:35,863

Belham, it's too loud.

:

02:08:35,863 --> 02:08:44,117

You're in the fetal position now with your slinging your hand and the sharp rocks are

poking into your thighs.

:

02:08:44,278 --> 02:08:51,981

And in a strange voice that almost sounds like a trombone and trumpets um singing says,

:

02:08:54,318 --> 02:08:56,380

Isaac is safe.

:

02:08:57,041 --> 02:09:00,444

Your new ram is here.

:

02:09:00,524 --> 02:09:04,067

And the eyes point towards Bellum and Vrakh.

:

02:09:04,769 --> 02:09:18,021

And Isaac turns to you, illuminated by this strange eyeball, and you see his face and you

see elation on it that he no longer has to sacrifice his son.

:

02:09:18,534 --> 02:09:22,182

and he bends over to pull the dagger from the earth.

:

02:09:22,182 --> 02:09:24,105

Can you roll your initiative?

:

02:09:25,638 --> 02:09:27,438

That's a D6, right?

:

02:09:28,058 --> 02:09:30,018

That's a 6 plus 3.

:

02:09:30,036 --> 02:09:30,836

Okay.

:

02:09:32,788 --> 02:09:34,231

Vrak, what do you do?

:

02:09:34,231 --> 02:09:37,342

ah

:

02:09:39,011 --> 02:09:39,875

Hmm

:

02:09:40,876 --> 02:09:42,660

Uh...

:

02:09:43,305 --> 02:09:45,631

Can I try to grappling hook the dagger?

:

02:09:46,632 --> 02:09:48,278

Yeah, of course.

:

02:09:51,800 --> 02:09:55,319

Is ah that strength or agility or?

:

02:09:55,935 --> 02:09:56,980

presence.

:

02:09:57,720 --> 02:09:59,104

Yeah, I guess.

:

02:09:59,104 --> 02:10:05,489

says grapple for strength because like grappling somebody, but let's just say, let's call

it strength.

:

02:10:06,534 --> 02:10:07,976

Strength or agility.

:

02:10:08,408 --> 02:10:09,289

Okay.

:

02:10:10,853 --> 02:10:13,639

Well, that's a two, which is a fail on either one.

:

02:10:13,639 --> 02:10:14,480

So.

:

02:10:14,868 --> 02:10:19,042

Yeah, you throw wide and it clatters to the ground.

:

02:10:19,042 --> 02:10:20,969

Do you maintain hold of the rope?

:

02:10:20,969 --> 02:10:23,466

Okay.

:

02:10:23,466 --> 02:10:25,860

say, yeah, I meant to do that, sir.

:

02:10:25,860 --> 02:10:26,391

Mr.

:

02:10:26,391 --> 02:10:26,781

Mr.

:

02:10:26,781 --> 02:10:27,352

Ebram.

:

02:10:27,352 --> 02:10:29,095

Uh, it's all right.

:

02:10:29,095 --> 02:10:30,436

I was trying to.

:

02:10:32,019 --> 02:10:32,390

Shit.

:

02:10:32,390 --> 02:10:33,144

I don't know what I'm saying.

:

02:10:33,144 --> 02:10:35,043

I need to stop talking so much.

:

02:10:35,580 --> 02:10:38,440

Yeah, he looks at you, he says, you!

:

02:10:39,420 --> 02:10:40,740

My new lambs!

:

02:10:40,740 --> 02:10:44,880

And he starts trying to get the dagger out and pulls on it.

:

02:10:44,880 --> 02:10:50,860

Bellum, you have blood running out of your ears and your nose and your eyes, but it is

your turn.

:

02:10:51,861 --> 02:10:52,801

Catch!

:

02:10:53,723 --> 02:10:59,489

And I underhand lob my bomb at him.

:

02:11:05,392 --> 02:11:07,914

that's that's definitely a presence.

:

02:11:09,855 --> 02:11:12,591

really like to pass this chat.

:

02:11:14,395 --> 02:11:18,691

A 16 plus one with a minus two DR.

:

02:11:18,708 --> 02:11:23,677

Yeah, you chuck it center mass or in front of him.

:

02:11:25,129 --> 02:11:26,510

I want him to catch it.

:

02:11:29,057 --> 02:11:38,839

He's down pulling this dagger up and you throw it and reflex he grabs it and it's like in

his hand and does this have a fuse I'm assuming as well.

:

02:11:38,839 --> 02:11:39,363

Yeah.

:

02:11:39,363 --> 02:11:41,288

a sealed bottle, it says.

:

02:11:41,288 --> 02:11:47,811

So I'm imagining like a milk can with a whi- with a fuse coming out of the top.

:

02:11:48,606 --> 02:11:49,971

Yeah, he grabs it.

:

02:11:49,971 --> 02:11:52,037

uh Give me some damage.

:

02:11:53,038 --> 02:11:55,679

Okay, yeah.

:

02:11:55,859 --> 02:12:11,183

It blows up and you see him fly backwards and hit the same pile that uh Isaac is bound to

and he lays next to him for a second and he has shrapnel all over his body.

:

02:12:11,183 --> 02:12:13,024

His face is blackened.

:

02:12:13,024 --> 02:12:21,146

Now the eye thing twitches and blinks a bunch and

:

02:12:21,858 --> 02:12:24,410

He stands up and let me see.

:

02:12:24,410 --> 02:12:27,912

I'm gonna give him a toughness to see if he can like even go.

:

02:12:27,912 --> 02:12:32,926

Actually go ahead and roll the toughness as a part of that Bellum.

:

02:12:35,309 --> 02:12:36,464

You got a seven.

:

02:12:37,518 --> 02:12:38,580

Okay, plus zero.

:

02:12:38,580 --> 02:12:41,996

So he does not have a turn, Frockett is your turn.

:

02:12:42,378 --> 02:12:51,927

um I'm gonna uh yank the grappling hook back and try to catch the knife on the way and see

if I can pull the knife towards us.

:

02:12:51,927 --> 02:12:53,157

Just go get it.

:

02:12:54,242 --> 02:12:56,046

yeah, guess I could, can I?

:

02:12:56,046 --> 02:13:02,748

I'm not quite sure about like the geog- Okay, well yeah, I'll just go try to grab the

knife then.

:

02:13:02,882 --> 02:13:08,814

Yeah, you run over, slide in maybe like uh you're sliding into a base.

:

02:13:09,277 --> 02:13:10,970

Yeah, Destiny slide exactly.

:

02:13:10,970 --> 02:13:14,036

And then give me a strength to see if you can rip it out.

:

02:13:15,058 --> 02:13:15,741

so strong.

:

02:13:15,741 --> 02:13:20,388

Uh, yeah, that's a one.

:

02:13:21,966 --> 02:13:33,313

Okay, you go up and yeah, you grab the blade instead of the knife and you lose your hand,

um your other hand.

:

02:13:33,313 --> 02:13:37,769

So now you just have a hook and give me a D6.

:

02:13:41,700 --> 02:13:42,512

Uh, two.

:

02:13:42,512 --> 02:13:46,039

And I have, I think my light armor, it says D2.

:

02:13:46,039 --> 02:13:47,250

Does that do anything?

:

02:13:47,250 --> 02:13:47,630

Or no.

:

02:13:47,630 --> 02:13:49,428

for critical failure.

:

02:13:49,843 --> 02:13:50,705

Yeah, probably not.

:

02:13:50,705 --> 02:13:53,729

gets him on the armored bit of his hand?

:

02:13:53,729 --> 02:14:07,386

Okay, Okay, you slide in, it hits your wrist and then it slides up and degloves you

instead of taking your hand and the skin on your palm is torn asunder.

:

02:14:07,386 --> 02:14:14,209

You can still grip a sword, but I will need a toughness roll to bear through it if you

want to do anything with that hand.

:

02:14:15,119 --> 02:14:15,821

Yeah.

:

02:14:15,821 --> 02:14:17,264

Yeah, armor's not gonna.

:

02:14:18,008 --> 02:14:20,836

Yeah, but you don't take any HP damage.

:

02:14:21,756 --> 02:14:22,788

Alright.

:

02:14:23,031 --> 02:14:24,915

That's a fair compromise.

:

02:14:25,359 --> 02:14:27,263

More than fair, I feel like.

:

02:14:27,466 --> 02:14:28,705

Yeah, it was pretty funny.

:

02:14:28,705 --> 02:14:33,465

wild like, I mean, we're at the end of this, right?

:

02:14:33,465 --> 02:14:35,777

Like, yeah.

:

02:14:35,777 --> 02:14:40,292

for a second he was real excited about having two hook hands if he lives through this,

but.

:

02:14:41,916 --> 02:14:43,875

It's fine, we'll do the tea club.

:

02:14:44,162 --> 02:14:52,457

Yeah, yeah, you were stands up and you see him chanting to himself.

:

02:14:52,457 --> 02:14:53,258

Sorry, go ahead, Belham.

:

02:14:53,258 --> 02:14:54,059

Yeah.

:

02:14:54,781 --> 02:14:56,244

yeah, yeah, yeah, it is your phone.

:

02:14:56,244 --> 02:14:57,085

It is balance.

:

02:14:57,085 --> 02:14:58,006

My bad.

:

02:14:59,035 --> 02:15:03,262

I would like to do the same thing, but I want to slow down a little before I get to the

knife.

:

02:15:03,342 --> 02:15:06,655

Okay, yeah, let's see if your roll lets you slow down.

:

02:15:08,340 --> 02:15:11,528

I own chalk.

:

02:15:12,452 --> 02:15:14,035

It's in my pockets.

:

02:15:14,258 --> 02:15:16,422

Can I chalk my hands first?

:

02:15:16,942 --> 02:15:22,713

Yeah, yeah, I'll give you, yeah, that'll reduce it by one.

:

02:15:22,713 --> 02:15:27,031

Should have done that before the rock climbing part of our show, but whatever.

:

02:15:27,604 --> 02:15:29,692

You know don't always think of it

:

02:15:31,393 --> 02:15:32,510

And that one.

:

02:15:33,134 --> 02:15:34,805

Are you fucking joking?

:

02:15:38,229 --> 02:15:39,290

Jesus Christ.

:

02:15:39,290 --> 02:15:40,171

Okay.

:

02:15:40,171 --> 02:15:41,602

You're going for the blade as well.

:

02:15:41,602 --> 02:15:42,933

Okay.

:

02:15:43,194 --> 02:15:44,154

Yeah.

:

02:15:45,697 --> 02:15:46,547

Do you have any armor?

:

02:15:46,547 --> 02:15:50,561

Okay.

:

02:15:50,561 --> 02:15:53,444

Give me a D6 as you slide into this blade.

:

02:15:54,991 --> 02:15:56,071

6

:

02:15:56,270 --> 02:16:00,593

minus one, the D2.

:

02:16:04,505 --> 02:16:09,451

Minus two, so still um totally lethal.

:

02:16:09,550 --> 02:16:10,441

Yeah.

:

02:16:11,626 --> 02:16:15,535

So you, do you want to narrate how this happens, Bellum?

:

02:16:16,235 --> 02:16:34,147

Yeah, so Bellum is running over and he's chalking up his hands and um as he pulls the

chalk out of his pocket, he spills maybe a dozen of his small sharp rocks on the ground

:

02:16:34,467 --> 02:16:37,349

and slips on them like ball bearings.

:

02:16:37,790 --> 02:16:46,335

And as he does this, he baseball slides basically into the knife that is sticking out of

the ground that

:

02:16:46,415 --> 02:16:56,783

cuts him from uh between his middle and uh ring finger up through his shoulder.

:

02:16:57,364 --> 02:16:59,785

Just the whole way up like a bandsaw.

:

02:17:00,026 --> 02:17:02,037

And he sort of looks at that.

:

02:17:03,949 --> 02:17:06,372

and then just bleeds out, like then and there.

:

02:17:06,372 --> 02:17:11,738

Okay, well, let's roll on the broken table for me.

:

02:17:11,738 --> 02:17:14,340

Give me a D4, okay.

:

02:17:14,340 --> 02:17:17,330

Oh, okay, yeah, so.

:

02:17:17,330 --> 02:17:18,481

omen do?

:

02:17:19,845 --> 02:17:21,599

I have one omen.

:

02:17:21,710 --> 02:17:24,807

Yeah, you call upon the omen.

:

02:17:24,807 --> 02:17:29,065

yeah, I probably should have called upon the omen for this not to be a critical failure.

:

02:17:30,817 --> 02:17:32,537

Omen omen omen.

:

02:17:33,618 --> 02:17:35,443

What page are the omens on?

:

02:17:36,747 --> 02:17:38,847

Uh, page 38.

:

02:17:39,068 --> 02:17:40,448

So here's a question.

:

02:17:40,489 --> 02:17:50,393

Omens, deal max damage with one attack or, well, I should have done that to fucking that

guy before when I threw a D10 bomb at him.

:

02:17:50,533 --> 02:17:53,094

That would have solved our problems.

:

02:17:53,094 --> 02:17:56,776

Uh, or, yeah.

:

02:17:56,776 --> 02:18:00,357

Or reroll a die roll, yours or someone else's.

:

02:18:00,618 --> 02:18:03,219

Or lower damage dealt to you by a D6.

:

02:18:03,987 --> 02:18:09,842

or neutralize a crit or a fumble or lower one test's DR by four.

:

02:18:09,842 --> 02:18:11,113

Here's my question.

:

02:18:11,114 --> 02:18:17,338

Why is neutralize a crit or a fumble on the table when you can reroll a dice roll?

:

02:18:17,338 --> 02:18:20,353

Well, because you could just reroll another crit.

:

02:18:20,875 --> 02:18:21,836

Right?

:

02:18:23,340 --> 02:18:24,381

Okay.

:

02:18:24,923 --> 02:18:25,530

Yeah.

:

02:18:25,530 --> 02:18:28,562

that I just band sawed myself like a butcher.

:

02:18:28,717 --> 02:18:33,092

Yeah, so I imagine Bellum imagines this.

:

02:18:33,092 --> 02:18:34,974

He's chalking up, getting ready.

:

02:18:34,974 --> 02:18:44,474

He just saw what happened to Vrak and he sees himself doing the same thing and then

slicing his entire arm up to his shoulder.

:

02:18:44,474 --> 02:18:50,519

And then that bad omen is like, wait a second, maybe there's another approach.

:

02:18:52,015 --> 02:18:53,695

All right, rerolled it.

:

02:18:53,695 --> 02:18:58,635

get a 15 plus zero.

:

02:18:59,450 --> 02:19:00,340

Great.

:

02:19:00,541 --> 02:19:07,247

You get over, you slow down and get a good grasp on the knife.

:

02:19:07,568 --> 02:19:10,341

And that was a agility, right?

:

02:19:10,341 --> 02:19:11,512

That you're rolling or strength.

:

02:19:11,512 --> 02:19:12,313

Yeah.

:

02:19:12,313 --> 02:19:16,857

And you pry it up and it breaks through the stone.

:

02:19:18,099 --> 02:19:19,760

You have the knife now.

:

02:19:19,919 --> 02:19:21,079

I have the knife, let's go!

:

02:19:21,079 --> 02:19:22,159

Go go go!

:

02:19:24,038 --> 02:19:25,897

Do we cut loose the kid?

:

02:19:27,439 --> 02:19:28,553

Do we have to?

:

02:19:28,982 --> 02:19:29,761

No.

:

02:19:30,265 --> 02:19:31,069

What?

:

02:19:33,893 --> 02:19:36,773

Okay, so you grab the knife out.

:

02:19:36,773 --> 02:19:38,917

Are you helping Vrock up?

:

02:19:40,404 --> 02:19:41,265

Okay.

:

02:19:41,487 --> 02:19:44,788

I grab them by the hook.

:

02:19:45,623 --> 02:19:46,479

Yeah.

:

02:19:47,762 --> 02:19:49,819

What page were the scrolls on again?

:

02:19:50,820 --> 02:19:51,676

you

:

02:19:53,255 --> 02:19:54,535

35.

:

02:19:55,059 --> 02:19:57,975

Let me know which one you want.

:

02:19:57,975 --> 02:20:01,571

Oh, you didn't use any of your scroll, Jimmy.

:

02:20:01,624 --> 02:20:03,204

Yeah, I was...

:

02:20:03,667 --> 02:20:13,179

Yeah, I should have probably used it more, but I was gonna use some this fight, but you

just got the knife, and I figure running away is maybe better than, you know, fireballing

:

02:20:13,179 --> 02:20:14,690

him, unless I have to.

:

02:20:16,092 --> 02:20:17,487

Yeah, if you wanna send me.

:

02:20:17,487 --> 02:20:18,489

the kid.

:

02:20:19,400 --> 02:20:20,354

Just kidding.

:

02:20:20,354 --> 02:20:22,032

Yeah, good.

:

02:20:22,963 --> 02:20:24,307

I got four of them.

:

02:20:25,936 --> 02:20:32,584

If you send me eyelids of the blind mind or eyelid blinds the mind, I will read it.

:

02:20:33,839 --> 02:20:35,874

Is that the invisibility one?

:

02:20:37,365 --> 02:20:38,226

No.

:

02:20:38,670 --> 02:20:40,735

Creatures fall asleep for an hour.

:

02:20:41,736 --> 02:20:43,471

I should have labeled these better.

:

02:20:44,061 --> 02:20:45,744

You can just give me any of them.

:

02:20:48,381 --> 02:20:50,557

I could do the death scroll if you prefer.

:

02:20:51,954 --> 02:20:52,964

No thanks.

:

02:20:53,965 --> 02:21:01,749

For some reason, it's very hard to find this um chat, this thread.

:

02:21:03,785 --> 02:21:04,586

where?

:

02:21:04,586 --> 02:21:07,248

You can just put it in Riverside, right?

:

02:21:07,248 --> 02:21:08,349

no, it doesn't take pictures.

:

02:21:08,349 --> 02:21:10,331

You can put it in any channel.

:

02:21:10,521 --> 02:21:11,731

you got it already.

:

02:21:12,844 --> 02:21:13,644

God.

:

02:21:13,644 --> 02:21:14,877

I'll try to read that.

:

02:21:14,877 --> 02:21:20,649

I made these and told my players that they had to read them in six seconds or else the

spell-

:

02:21:21,098 --> 02:21:22,785

Cool, okay

:

02:21:22,785 --> 02:21:27,188

So they were like shouting these like at their top speed.

:

02:21:28,046 --> 02:21:30,327

Okay, yeah.

:

02:21:30,327 --> 02:21:47,623

Yeah, he starts standing up after getting this explosion all over him and like he's

smoking too and he breathes heavily and he's like, I lights the blind mind that holds the

:

02:21:47,623 --> 02:21:51,664

band that covers the noise of the dreams yet.

:

02:21:51,700 --> 02:21:58,208

undreamt by those sleepers in the darker waters of the lake of mud.

:

02:21:58,208 --> 02:22:05,716

And he's at the end and he can do a d4 of people.

:

02:22:06,919 --> 02:22:10,220

He gets three, so.

:

02:22:10,220 --> 02:22:11,394

um

:

02:22:11,394 --> 02:22:13,375

say up to D4.

:

02:22:15,148 --> 02:22:18,956

Yeah, so you are the two that he's trying to put to sleep.

:

02:22:18,956 --> 02:22:22,844

oh

:

02:22:24,028 --> 02:22:25,268

Is he picking himself?

:

02:22:26,568 --> 02:22:27,308

No, I'm kidding.

:

02:22:27,308 --> 02:22:30,956

I'm sure it does not work that way, but I'm doing my best here.

:

02:22:30,956 --> 02:22:31,996

Yeah.

:

02:22:32,899 --> 02:22:33,339

Yeah.

:

02:22:33,339 --> 02:22:34,234

So give.

:

02:22:34,234 --> 02:22:38,166

as an idea though, that it does mean exactly that many.

:

02:22:38,308 --> 02:22:38,768

That's funny.

:

02:22:38,768 --> 02:22:40,050

That would be funny.

:

02:22:40,050 --> 02:22:43,614

And you would have to make yourself fall asleep if it's just like, yeah.

:

02:22:45,337 --> 02:22:45,858

Yeah.

:

02:22:45,858 --> 02:22:47,539

Like, oh, fuck.

:

02:22:47,941 --> 02:22:51,424

Well, we all just wake up together and resume.

:

02:22:51,468 --> 02:22:52,748

yeah.

:

02:22:53,047 --> 02:22:53,418

Yeah.

:

02:22:53,418 --> 02:22:57,012

Can you give me a strength or a toughness?

:

02:22:58,013 --> 02:23:02,393

That's a 15 plus 2.

:

02:23:03,169 --> 02:23:05,407

Okay, you do not fall asleep.

:

02:23:07,348 --> 02:23:09,816

I got a 12 minus 1.

:

02:23:10,049 --> 02:23:14,309

Okay, you feel like you're falling asleep.

:

02:23:14,309 --> 02:23:17,509

It's a 14 test.

:

02:23:18,049 --> 02:23:23,449

And you see Bellum as he's shouting for you to get your ass moving, Vrock.

:

02:23:23,929 --> 02:23:28,389

He looks woozy and starts to fall over and hits the ground.

:

02:23:28,768 --> 02:23:33,259

Pour some of that berserker potion in me.

:

02:23:34,255 --> 02:23:35,207

Mmm.

:

02:23:35,471 --> 02:23:36,392

Yeah.

:

02:23:39,741 --> 02:23:40,430

Uhhhh

:

02:23:40,430 --> 02:23:50,884

the dagger hits the ground again when it's in Bellum's hand and you see the spot it hits,

cracks, and you hear lightning again.

:

02:23:52,647 --> 02:23:54,189

It is your turn, Vruk.

:

02:23:54,592 --> 02:23:57,991

Yeah, how come God didn't give me a target when I got the knife?

:

02:23:58,992 --> 02:23:59,880

Hmm.

:

02:24:00,881 --> 02:24:02,199

Yeah, I, uh...

:

02:24:04,583 --> 02:24:11,461

Do I have, like, with my occult herb sense, uh any sense that the Berserker potion would

work?

:

02:24:13,770 --> 02:24:14,532

Yeah.

:

02:24:15,303 --> 02:24:15,523

Okay.

:

02:24:15,523 --> 02:24:15,984

Yeah.

:

02:24:15,984 --> 02:24:17,805

It's a, it's a powder.

:

02:24:18,586 --> 02:24:19,347

Yeah.

:

02:24:19,347 --> 02:24:20,288

Yeah.

:

02:24:21,089 --> 02:24:22,029

Yeah.

:

02:24:22,050 --> 02:24:24,152

It's, it's basically magic cocaine.

:

02:24:24,152 --> 02:24:25,423

Uh, yeah.

:

02:24:25,423 --> 02:24:34,242

So I, uh, you know, I have a little vial and I just like pour some right in your nose and

I close the other nostril and close your mouth.

:

02:24:35,765 --> 02:24:42,002

Yeah, it goes up, Bellum, you feel the life come back to you.

:

02:24:42,304 --> 02:24:44,607

Vrak, that's your turn.

:

02:24:44,607 --> 02:24:46,429

The dagger's laying on the ground.

:

02:24:46,429 --> 02:24:51,655

uh We will, well, Bellum, I'll let you take a turn, yeah.

:

02:24:52,656 --> 02:24:56,580

Uh, can I pick up the knife?

:

02:24:56,580 --> 02:24:59,062

So there's three things I'd like to do.

:

02:24:59,062 --> 02:25:03,936

are pick up the knife, resume running, and also whip a sling stone at this guy.

:

02:25:03,936 --> 02:25:06,648

Uh, how many of those can I do?

:

02:25:07,023 --> 02:25:13,332

you can pick up the knife and start running or pick up the knife and start swinging your

sling.

:

02:25:16,851 --> 02:25:19,252

let's get out of this guy's line of sight.

:

02:25:20,234 --> 02:25:23,276

How hard is it gonna be to get back down the sheer cliff face?

:

02:25:23,276 --> 02:25:28,120

Otherwise we're gonna run into um every cultist on the way.

:

02:25:29,199 --> 02:25:43,173

you going back down the side, it's gonna be tricky with speed and then who knows what is

gonna be thrown down at you, but there is the path too that you could take that would have

:

02:25:43,173 --> 02:25:44,404

taken you up.

:

02:25:44,548 --> 02:25:47,703

Yeah, but there's eight dudes in that lady on that path.

:

02:25:49,284 --> 02:25:51,831

Seven, if we burned up that one guy.

:

02:25:52,624 --> 02:25:53,452

Yeah.

:

02:25:54,453 --> 02:25:55,481

choices.

:

02:25:56,790 --> 02:25:58,663

What would your gut tell you, Bellum?

:

02:25:59,967 --> 02:26:02,695

Okay, run down the path.

:

02:26:02,695 --> 02:26:09,105

run down the path and maybe we can hop over the side of the path and like skid down the

side of the mountain.

:

02:26:09,510 --> 02:26:12,305

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.

:

02:26:12,305 --> 02:26:15,377

You start taking off, Brock, you see him taking off.

:

02:26:15,377 --> 02:26:22,190

He gets a room's distance away, which is about 25 feet or so.

:

02:26:22,551 --> 02:26:25,012

You're still in line of sight at this point though.

:

02:26:27,131 --> 02:26:29,753

Real quick ah it is getting a little late.

:

02:26:29,753 --> 02:26:32,934

Do you guys want to call it like 20 minutes?

:

02:26:34,055 --> 02:26:34,955

Maybe 30.

:

02:26:34,955 --> 02:26:40,579

I don't know where we are in the in the story Yeah, that's what I thought all right

:

02:26:42,766 --> 02:26:45,519

Uh, yeah, yeah, I'm good to keep going.

:

02:26:46,071 --> 02:26:50,908

it's, not that I want this to be the case, but it's Ibram's turn, right?

:

02:26:50,908 --> 02:26:52,650

Like I use my turn for the snuff.

:

02:26:52,650 --> 02:26:54,332

Bellum did his thing.

:

02:26:55,530 --> 02:26:57,022

Yep, yep.

:

02:26:57,104 --> 02:27:05,603

Yeah, Ibram pulls out a sling of his own and spins it around to you, Vrak, can you give me

any agility?

:

02:27:06,604 --> 02:27:11,584

That's an 11 with a plus 3, so 14.

:

02:27:11,664 --> 02:27:12,725

Beautiful.

:

02:27:12,726 --> 02:27:25,687

Yeah, you see one of those eyeballs fly past your head and he starts bounding toward where

Bellum was running um for his dagger.

:

02:27:26,990 --> 02:27:28,945

Yeah, I want to fireball him

:

02:27:29,590 --> 02:27:30,275

Yes.

:

02:27:30,275 --> 02:27:32,818

Okay.

:

02:27:34,754 --> 02:27:35,877

Yeah.

:

02:27:35,877 --> 02:27:38,273

What's the activation again for that?

:

02:27:40,061 --> 02:27:41,201

Your presence.

:

02:27:41,201 --> 02:27:44,674

the thing I think so and then I say the thing

:

02:27:44,674 --> 02:27:46,572

Yeah, you should say the things.

:

02:27:48,138 --> 02:27:55,853

Palms open the southern gate, knuckles close the northern gate, fingers close the eastern

gate, nails open the western gate.

:

02:27:56,536 --> 02:27:59,060

From Hell's Heart I stab at the kapow.

:

02:28:00,875 --> 02:28:05,124

Yeah, give me the presence role to see if the activation goes well.

:

02:28:05,124 --> 02:28:07,439

I have two omens if need be.

:

02:28:07,439 --> 02:28:09,024

Can I use one on this?

:

02:28:09,024 --> 02:28:11,710

Yeah, I got an eight which I'm pretty sure fails.

:

02:28:12,834 --> 02:28:14,574

You can use your OMEN, yeah.

:

02:28:15,202 --> 02:28:20,197

an Omen reduces the DR by four and it succeeds, right?

:

02:28:20,197 --> 02:28:21,727

it succeeds, yeah.

:

02:28:21,891 --> 02:28:23,293

okay, sweet.

:

02:28:24,217 --> 02:28:28,846

So then I do the damage with the d8.

:

02:28:29,851 --> 02:28:30,962

That's an eight.

:

02:28:31,768 --> 02:28:48,416

Wow, you see Ibram bounding toward Belim and he's running past you and you give him some

lead as you read this scroll aloud and the flames erupt from like your hand and hit him in

:

02:28:48,416 --> 02:28:49,566

the side.

:

02:28:49,587 --> 02:28:54,752

Yeah, give me a description of how he's consumed by flames and killed.

:

02:28:55,420 --> 02:28:59,982

Uh, yeah, so I was picturing him in like robes and maybe like kind of a fancy hat.

:

02:28:59,982 --> 02:29:09,325

Uh, and I, with my skinned palm hand, I kind of point my hook at him and my hook starts to

glow red as I'm doing the chant.

:

02:29:09,326 --> 02:29:14,508

And then just like, bam, and like fire shoots out and it's still kind of in the hook

shape.

:

02:29:14,508 --> 02:29:21,651

Uh, and it just like flies straight at him as this like fiery hook and like digs right

into his back.

:

02:29:21,651 --> 02:29:25,022

And there's a split second where he kind of jerks like, ah, like

:

02:29:25,022 --> 02:29:29,435

hands up and maybe stumbles a step and then his robes just erupt in fire.

:

02:29:30,052 --> 02:29:35,332

Yeah, he falls to the ground screaming in agony as he's consumed by flame.

:

02:29:35,332 --> 02:29:36,712

He's like, ah!

:

02:29:37,713 --> 02:29:45,829

Bellum, as you're running, you have the dagger in your hand still, right?

:

02:29:46,450 --> 02:29:56,036

It gets to a point where you run and it stops midair and you get jerked forward and it

will not move any further.

:

02:29:56,917 --> 02:29:59,379

And the figure in the sky.

:

02:30:00,680 --> 02:30:02,177

rings in your head.

:

02:30:03,977 --> 02:30:06,273

We demand a sacrifice.

:

02:30:07,616 --> 02:30:12,949

I turn around and start dashing towards ah Ibrahim.

:

02:30:12,950 --> 02:30:14,170

What's?

:

02:30:14,851 --> 02:30:15,851

Ibram.

:

02:30:16,152 --> 02:30:17,283

Is he still alive?

:

02:30:17,283 --> 02:30:19,284

Ibram?

:

02:30:19,987 --> 02:30:23,060

screaming and burning.

:

02:30:23,060 --> 02:30:24,521

can get there in time.

:

02:30:24,602 --> 02:30:27,957

Also, I got a quibble for you, God.

:

02:30:27,957 --> 02:30:30,730

Is it really a sacrifice if it's someone I don't know?

:

02:30:32,898 --> 02:30:33,702

putting that out there.

:

02:30:33,702 --> 02:30:36,179

I'm gonna go plant this in Abram's chest.

:

02:30:36,717 --> 02:30:37,553

Yeah.

:

02:30:37,609 --> 02:30:40,922

You're not really sacrificing anything, but something's dying.

:

02:30:41,152 --> 02:30:49,498

Yeah, but it seemed to have counted because God said, oh, you can go sacrifice these mooks

instead of your kid, so.

:

02:30:51,497 --> 02:30:58,809

Yeah, at this point it's a guy I want to kill, I mean, hey, it's a win-win scenario, you

get your dead body and we get this guy killed.

:

02:30:59,207 --> 02:31:16,260

You mercy kill Ibram and he is on fire as this dagger comes into him and that lightning

like resonance passes through him and splits him in half and one of the halves slops

:

02:31:16,260 --> 02:31:23,826

around and falls off the side of the mountain and Isaac screams from there.

:

02:31:23,846 --> 02:31:24,926

He's just like

:

02:31:26,273 --> 02:31:29,028

Dad, father, father!

:

02:31:29,028 --> 02:31:32,814

And he's screaming and lashing against his restraints.

:

02:31:34,276 --> 02:31:37,415

Uh, yeah, I think we leave that kid there.

:

02:31:37,415 --> 02:31:39,038

Someone will come up and get him.

:

02:31:40,039 --> 02:31:45,921

Yeah, he seemed like he wanted this whole thing to happen and I don't even really know

which mother he is.

:

02:31:45,921 --> 02:31:46,652

Hey, you know what?

:

02:31:46,652 --> 02:31:52,803

For funsies, maybe we could pull a whole Bible and like saw them in half and then each

mother can have the half they want.

:

02:31:54,864 --> 02:31:55,705

Okay, all right.

:

02:31:55,705 --> 02:31:57,026

Yeah, let's get out of here.

:

02:31:58,541 --> 02:32:04,701

Yeah, you take off down the path with the dagger in your hand.

:

02:32:05,401 --> 02:32:09,301

And you hear, go ahead, yeah.

:

02:32:09,461 --> 02:32:11,132

Is God still there?

:

02:32:11,575 --> 02:32:12,847

God's still there watching.

:

02:32:12,847 --> 02:32:13,649

Yeah.

:

02:32:13,649 --> 02:32:15,390

Yeah.

:

02:32:15,712 --> 02:32:16,063

You.

:

02:32:16,063 --> 02:32:18,899

wanna do like a sorta like what the fuck gesture.

:

02:32:18,899 --> 02:32:20,030

At God.

:

02:32:20,077 --> 02:32:20,983

Mm-hmm.

:

02:32:20,983 --> 02:32:21,834

Yeah.

:

02:32:22,371 --> 02:32:23,775

You got your show.

:

02:32:24,967 --> 02:32:28,711

uh problems with authority and blasphemous tattoos.

:

02:32:29,729 --> 02:32:30,589

Yeah.

:

02:32:32,151 --> 02:32:32,831

Okay.

:

02:32:32,831 --> 02:32:33,201

Yeah.

:

02:32:33,201 --> 02:32:34,272

You do the gesture.

:

02:32:34,272 --> 02:32:36,553

uh Seems uncaring.

:

02:32:36,833 --> 02:32:38,534

Standing in the sky.

:

02:32:38,534 --> 02:32:49,421

um These whirling strange rusted circles and you run down the mountain and just take the

path all the way down.

:

02:32:50,710 --> 02:32:53,034

Where's the lady and the rest of the cultists?

:

02:32:53,311 --> 02:32:55,902

at the end of the path.

:

02:32:56,604 --> 02:32:59,346

And waiting, you see them in the distance.

:

02:32:59,346 --> 02:33:07,233

They're all supplicated at the bottom of the mountain with the staring up at the strange

eye in the sky.

:

02:33:08,654 --> 02:33:10,641

ah You think we can just run past them?

:

02:33:10,641 --> 02:33:12,385

They seem preoccupied.

:

02:33:12,994 --> 02:33:15,488

I mean we did their sacrifice, so...

:

02:33:15,488 --> 02:33:17,760

hold the knife like behind my back.

:

02:33:19,345 --> 02:33:20,287

because I can't see it.

:

02:33:20,287 --> 02:33:39,135

yeah, yeah as you run into view Vrak you notice that Bellum holding this knife is Glowing

strangely It's like a like a dark obsidian blackness folds the shadows around him and an

:

02:33:39,135 --> 02:33:45,968

anti glow almost and They noticed that as well and they start

:

02:33:45,968 --> 02:33:55,537

They start bowing as you guys run up and turn towards you screaming prayers at you as you

run by.

:

02:33:56,088 --> 02:33:58,187

See, I told you they were cheering us on.

:

02:33:59,516 --> 02:34:00,432

Yeah.

:

02:34:01,073 --> 02:34:02,161

don't overthink it.

:

02:34:02,161 --> 02:34:02,938

Just keep going.

:

02:34:02,938 --> 02:34:03,784

Go, go, go.

:

02:34:03,784 --> 02:34:09,837

Yeah, go, go, We, yeah, well, road runner off into the distance.

:

02:34:09,837 --> 02:34:12,080

Like I don't think we stop running.

:

02:34:12,777 --> 02:34:15,026

Yeah, where do you stop eventually?

:

02:34:16,382 --> 02:34:19,042

Does God remain in place?

:

02:34:19,070 --> 02:34:20,689

Mm-hmm, doesn't follow you.

:

02:34:20,884 --> 02:34:22,352

Does it go away?

:

02:34:22,485 --> 02:34:26,825

Yeah, after a while, it slinks back and...

:

02:34:28,436 --> 02:34:32,368

Probably that's when Bellum stops running.

:

02:34:32,809 --> 02:34:33,669

Yeah.

:

02:34:33,797 --> 02:34:38,659

Yeah, I think I'm just following your lead at this point because you seem to know more

about this whole god stuff than I do.

:

02:34:38,659 --> 02:34:40,188

I'm just, I'm along for the ride.

:

02:34:40,188 --> 02:34:40,680

got nothing.

:

02:34:40,680 --> 02:34:42,193

I don't know what that thing is.

:

02:34:42,517 --> 02:34:45,489

towards a village, towards wilderness.

:

02:34:45,489 --> 02:34:46,333

you

:

02:34:46,333 --> 02:34:47,096

Uh.

:

02:34:49,147 --> 02:34:49,898

village.

:

02:34:49,898 --> 02:34:59,903

If this knife can make us lots of money, ah well, I don't know, maybe we chop a tree with

the knife and gold pops out and then, uh that's, don't know how this thing gets us money,

:

02:35:00,164 --> 02:35:02,605

but yeah.

:

02:35:03,453 --> 02:35:05,339

Yeah, you go to a village.

:

02:35:06,427 --> 02:35:08,252

Take a night's rest.

:

02:35:09,992 --> 02:35:14,462

Are we able to stop at the lady, like run past the lady?

:

02:35:14,462 --> 02:35:15,676

Of course, yeah.

:

02:35:16,690 --> 02:35:18,450

He's dead, goodbye.

:

02:35:18,979 --> 02:35:19,790

Yeah.

:

02:35:20,334 --> 02:35:22,701

Your son's still alive if you want to go get him.

:

02:35:23,097 --> 02:35:30,848

bows over and over again, slamming her head into the ground as you run by.

:

02:35:32,732 --> 02:35:34,011

Yeah, okay.

:

02:35:34,011 --> 02:35:34,405

days.

:

02:35:34,405 --> 02:35:35,951

These people are weird.

:

02:35:37,777 --> 02:35:41,957

I mean, I'm not exactly normal, but like, I, you know, I wouldn't do stuff like that.

:

02:35:41,957 --> 02:35:45,297

You know, I, yeah, it's, ah crap.

:

02:35:45,297 --> 02:35:47,457

I still got these carvings on my head.

:

02:35:47,457 --> 02:35:50,409

Well, maybe one of the healing potions will take care of that.

:

02:35:51,111 --> 02:35:52,101

I so.

:

02:35:53,022 --> 02:35:53,842

Yeah.

:

02:35:53,842 --> 02:36:10,567

As a part of a, I guess, uh a epilogue, Bellum, you arrive in civilization and you cannot

stop people from trying to follow you and bow to you.

:

02:36:11,628 --> 02:36:16,389

You, against your will, have become a father of nations.

:

02:36:16,905 --> 02:36:21,371

you gather more and more and more people everywhere you go.

:

02:36:21,371 --> 02:36:24,555

You go into the wilderness to try to escape them.

:

02:36:24,555 --> 02:36:27,209

People follow and then animals follow.

:

02:36:27,209 --> 02:36:34,808

You have wolves, deer lying together in your presence.

:

02:36:35,026 --> 02:36:36,817

I give Rack the knife.

:

02:36:38,120 --> 02:36:39,540

That's fucked up.

:

02:36:39,822 --> 02:36:41,903

Bellum is not okay with that.

:

02:36:42,825 --> 02:36:46,064

Bellum does not- cannot become the authority.

:

02:36:46,064 --> 02:36:48,444

Yeah, it's kind of your whole not thing.

:

02:36:48,444 --> 02:36:56,304

It's a real, uh, you know, uh, Paul Atreides, I don't want to be king kind of situation,

but you can't really stop it.

:

02:36:56,304 --> 02:36:57,627

I don't know what happened.

:

02:36:57,627 --> 02:36:58,791

him the knife.

:

02:37:00,703 --> 02:37:03,555

Frack, you can't touch or lift the knife.

:

02:37:03,635 --> 02:37:06,357

it falls.

:

02:37:07,158 --> 02:37:08,138

Yeah.

:

02:37:08,959 --> 02:37:11,333

You're unable to touch it.

:

02:37:12,900 --> 02:37:14,401

Yeah, I'm okay with that.

:

02:37:14,401 --> 02:37:15,632

I didn't really want it either.

:

02:37:15,632 --> 02:37:19,700

I'm not King material.

:

02:37:19,700 --> 02:37:22,305

I know that about myself.

:

02:37:22,305 --> 02:37:29,069

I guess it, you know, even if I had like subjects to sit and listen to me ramble all day,

I don't really like that I ramble.

:

02:37:29,069 --> 02:37:30,630

It's kind of like a stress thing.

:

02:37:30,630 --> 02:37:31,730

I don't really want to do it.

:

02:37:31,730 --> 02:37:34,632

And if I had people stuck here that would listen to me all the time.

:

02:37:35,787 --> 02:37:48,356

Bellum, you realize after a while that in your followers, some say that your nature is

this, others say your nature is that.

:

02:37:48,937 --> 02:37:50,138

None are quite right.

:

02:37:50,138 --> 02:37:52,600

None really have a full understanding of you.

:

02:37:52,600 --> 02:37:58,845

And then they start killing each other because they don't really understand you.

:

02:38:01,247 --> 02:38:06,572

But you cannot stop this unless you have a creative way to.

:

02:38:06,802 --> 02:38:08,795

I'm not sure he tried.

:

02:38:09,268 --> 02:38:10,022

Yeah.

:

02:38:10,298 --> 02:38:15,435

Hey, uh Bud, what if we take the knife back to the mountain and get someone else to kill

someone?

:

02:38:15,435 --> 02:38:17,006

And then they have the knife.

:

02:38:19,472 --> 02:38:21,219

I mean, we got our wealth.

:

02:38:21,219 --> 02:38:25,482

Why don't we just get rid of this thing and we can give it a shot.

:

02:38:26,034 --> 02:38:32,078

Yeah, I think we trek back to the mountain with a horde of people.

:

02:38:32,078 --> 02:38:35,034

Someone's gonna wanna be sacrificed, I'm sure.

:

02:38:35,923 --> 02:38:36,774

Yeah.

:

02:38:37,377 --> 02:38:42,239

Yeah, you get to the top of the mountain and raise the knife above.

:

02:38:42,239 --> 02:38:43,912

Okay.

:

02:38:43,978 --> 02:38:45,062

Someone else has to raise...

:

02:38:45,062 --> 02:38:46,003

Fuck!

:

02:38:46,226 --> 02:38:48,561

Can someone else raise the knife?

:

02:38:50,856 --> 02:38:53,445

like on a fundamental literal level.

:

02:38:54,446 --> 02:38:57,282

Like I give it to some guy, like here, hold this.

:

02:38:57,903 --> 02:38:59,823

Yeah, no one can hold it.

:

02:39:00,394 --> 02:39:05,986

What uh, about if you kinda hold it up and they do like the baseball and then...

:

02:39:05,986 --> 02:39:10,782

Yeah, somebody else has their hand on it you let go and it falls into a person.

:

02:39:10,806 --> 02:39:12,459

try to trick God.

:

02:39:12,751 --> 02:39:22,854

Yeah, you stand up top this mountain doing strange rituals that are mimicked throughout

the land now by your followers.

:

02:39:22,854 --> 02:39:25,004

People drop knives into their own feet.

:

02:39:25,004 --> 02:39:31,506

People try to hold knives up together in a large group and hurt themselves all the time.

:

02:39:31,506 --> 02:39:40,538

And there's just strange things just around the land as this world's dying even faster

now.

:

02:39:41,039 --> 02:39:41,939

But.

:

02:39:42,019 --> 02:39:43,732

You have temples built in your name.

:

02:39:43,732 --> 02:39:49,710

You have access to gold and riches and men and women and everything in between.

:

02:39:49,710 --> 02:39:53,376

Your desires can be met no matter what.

:

02:39:53,376 --> 02:39:55,678

The world is honestly your slave.

:

02:39:56,970 --> 02:40:01,075

Yeah, except to one desire to not be the person that has all this stuff.

:

02:40:02,076 --> 02:40:04,737

The Monkey's Paw Curls!

:

02:40:05,030 --> 02:40:06,050

Is that a monkey's paw?

:

02:40:06,050 --> 02:40:06,732

I don't know.

:

02:40:06,732 --> 02:40:07,769

The end.

:

02:40:07,769 --> 02:40:09,125

yeah.

:

02:40:09,125 --> 02:40:13,875

what I asked for in a way that makes me completely unable to enjoy it.

:

02:40:13,875 --> 02:40:15,357

Sure, there you go.

:

02:40:16,670 --> 02:40:18,269

Yeah, that's excellent.

:

02:40:18,761 --> 02:40:19,581

Cool.

:

02:40:20,823 --> 02:40:21,743

Yeah.

:

02:40:21,844 --> 02:40:24,807

Vrock, do you have a prologue or just hanging out with Bellum?

:

02:40:24,807 --> 02:40:26,788

Or not a prologue, an epilogue.

:

02:40:27,458 --> 02:40:30,831

Yeah, I mean, I think I probably just hang out with Bellum.

:

02:40:32,113 --> 02:40:35,396

but I don't, I don't want like any kind of spotlight.

:

02:40:35,396 --> 02:40:38,539

It's more like maybe we're drinking buddies or something.

:

02:40:38,539 --> 02:40:47,107

Uh, and I commiserate with you and maybe after years of this, I kind of learned how to

shut the hell up.

:

02:40:47,117 --> 02:40:50,981

cause he's the one with the problems and I find some inner peace from that.

:

02:40:50,981 --> 02:40:52,492

Uh,

:

02:40:53,353 --> 02:41:06,550

Problem is thus spoke for rock and everyone writes every little thing you say down and

repeats it constantly throughout because you have the era of Bellum and your scripture and

:

02:41:06,550 --> 02:41:15,385

testaments of Bellum are one of the only books that is rewritten and written over and over

again.

:

02:41:15,573 --> 02:41:25,970

Okay, well then I think that actually has uh unfortunate feedback for Vrak, because then

he's like, one, he just is hyper verbose and says all this stuff, but then two, because

:

02:41:25,970 --> 02:41:32,024

he's deceitful and kind of gets a kick out of it, he starts saying really dumb shit just

to see how much people will write down.

:

02:41:32,024 --> 02:41:38,919

ah Maybe sometimes he tries to like, you know, because he didn't want to see the kid get

killed.

:

02:41:38,919 --> 02:41:42,091

He doesn't like the people dropping knives in their feet and stuff like that.

:

02:41:42,091 --> 02:41:43,128

He's, you know.

:

02:41:43,128 --> 02:41:49,691

I mean, he'll kill a man if there's a good reason, but people just sticking knives in

themselves because of some weird ritual.

:

02:41:49,852 --> 02:41:52,813

That's just pointless.

:

02:41:52,813 --> 02:42:00,517

he maybe tries to be like, no, don't with the knives and the dropping in the feet.

:

02:42:00,678 --> 02:42:04,280

Maybe drop it next to your foot.

:

02:42:04,280 --> 02:42:09,062

ah And it's like the closer to your foot you get, the closer you are to God.

:

02:42:09,062 --> 02:42:11,163

But God doesn't want you to hurt your foot.

:

02:42:11,163 --> 02:42:12,575

ah

:

02:42:12,575 --> 02:42:21,949

If you make a mistake, then you gotta like give money ah to, I don't know, some kids who

are in trouble or some of it to us.

:

02:42:22,129 --> 02:42:23,949

But not, you know.

:

02:42:24,810 --> 02:42:27,871

Yeah, I, yeah.

:

02:42:28,732 --> 02:42:30,902

And then you also have to fuck off for a week.

:

02:42:30,902 --> 02:42:33,203

That's how, more than a week, a year.

:

02:42:33,203 --> 02:42:36,295

After you donate money to us, you have to go away for at least a year.

:

02:42:36,295 --> 02:42:40,126

So thus spake Vrak, leave us the fuck alone.

:

02:42:40,135 --> 02:42:45,450

Yeah, and Vrak's verbose like scripture is so confusing and archaic.

:

02:42:45,450 --> 02:42:58,704

There are colleges and universities that devote their entire study to understanding and

unpacking what Vrak has said, and they translate it into other languages and miss stuff,

:

02:42:58,704 --> 02:43:04,289

and they try to retranslate it, and those are the testaments of Vrak.

:

02:43:05,304 --> 02:43:08,266

people making themselves hook hands, is that.

:

02:43:10,085 --> 02:43:12,250

In the monasteries, absolutely.

:

02:43:12,440 --> 02:43:13,320

Yeah.

:

02:43:15,268 --> 02:43:17,153

Yeah, that's that's pretty sick.

:

02:43:18,580 --> 02:43:19,431

For real life.

:

02:43:19,431 --> 02:43:19,944

then

Dead Letter Bureau

As the arbiter of the game's reality, Nick presents a world where the Unnatural is not just a monster to be fought, but a complex, indifferent force with its own ancient logic. His scenarios are built around deep, interconnected lore, weaving together threads of rogue government agencies, alien biology, and human folly. He guides his players through investigations that are as much about uncovering terrifying truths as they are about the psychological and moral erosion of the agents themselves, ensuring that every choice has weight and every victory comes at a profound cost. His focus is on crafting a deeply immersive and unsettling narrative experience, where the true horror is often found in the quiet moments just before the storm breaks.
