:Let me tell you a tale.
3
:It starts with the sky above the dark Caribbean that doesn't wake, it bleeds.
4
:A bruise violent dawn fractures over the horizon.
5
:Clutching the black ribs of the Poseidon's rage, where she sits, anchored off the coast of
Havana, like a waiting vulture.
6
:Through the sulphurous morning mist, a lone dinghy cuts silently across the glass-flat
sea.
7
:A single lantern, sickly and green, swings from its bow, casting a grotesque shadow across
the water.
8
:There are three hooded figures in there.
9
:They pull oars with mechanical and rhythmic finality.
10
:Between them lies a man blindfolded, gagged, and bound in a heavy hemp rope.
11
:They hoist him upward and load him over the gumwale into the damp air.
12
:falls like a sack of lines on the deck.
13
:Hey everybody, this is Nick here from Dead Letter Bureau, and today we are going to be
playing Pirate Borg, the sinking of Cathagon, written by JBC Perry and illustrated by
14
:Stratton.
15
:I'm joined by some illustrious folks.
16
:If you guys want to introduce yourselves, please do.
17
:Jordan, over to you.
18
:Howdy everyone.
19
:Uh this is Jordan from Dead Letter Bureau, currently walking the plank today.
20
:I'm Nathan, I'm from RPG Reanimators, and I am Sweltering with Grog.
21
:And I'm Lex, also from RPG Reanimators, and also coincidentally sweltering from Grog.
22
:Hey, I'm Patrick.
23
:I uh am hanging out.
24
:Well, cool, guys.
25
:We are going to jump right in.
26
:Below deck, the air is overcrowded with bunks thick, and the stench of cheap rum, stale
sweat, damp wool invades your nose.
27
:You had first watch, and your eyes are still burning from the salt crust when the heavy
metallic thud of boots and sudden sharp commotion overhead cuts through the groaning
28
:ship's timbers.
29
:You four rise together and climb a slick ladder toward the morning light.
30
:As each of you step out into the brine slicked wood of the main deck, the world narrows
and you smell wet gunpowder.
31
:As you come out, each of you, what does the camera see?
32
:Alright.
33
:Scrags will be the first out into the sun.
34
:His big cavalier hat casting a nice shadow over his scrawny, like almost emaciated looking
body.
35
:He's smacking his lips with a wet cough underneath.
36
:He's got that sort of like angry thinness with a a bit of a grog belly underneath.
37
:And uh he just looks like he's a a bucket of fun, but he's got a nice machete at his side.
38
:Isabel stumps up the short ladder behind Scrags, wearing just an incredibly fine silk
coat.
39
:Woolen trousers, but beneath those trousers are uh two peg legs.
40
:Uh Isabel appears to be maybe fifteen or so, and would look fairly out of place if it
weren't for the tricorn and three flintlock pistols bandoliered across her chest.
41
:Deadliest sin.
42
:Like the rising of this uh deep tattoo.
43
:emerging from the bulbous belly of Babida Berica crests over the the deck of his ship.
44
:He wears a coat long and dragging across the ground, but nothing could cover the majesty
that is his belly like a gunnel ball.
45
:He look like a man but he hunger
46
:like a corpse's mouth smell foul and uh rank.
47
:No one dare to stand in front of you.
48
:Don't get too close.
49
:Yeah.
50
:As Babida is majestically announcing his presence and making his way up, you see that this
long cloak is kind of going behind him and down still into the hatch.
51
:Then all of a sudden there is an unceremonious GET THE FUCK OUT!
52
:And you see it kind of pfft up, back out, before there is a lot of cursing and thump,
zump, as a wiry yellow-toothed man who got his name through no small similarity, uh Jerry
53
:Ratskull Robinson, is the ship's local philosopher.
54
:And it takes me a little while in order to get all the way up due to this peg leg that's
definitely not a musket.
55
:Don't know why everyone keeps suspecting it's a musket.
56
:I just really like cleaning my rifle.
57
:Ugh.
58
:Uh I had to sell my damn hat in order to afford a fucking flintmark pistol, but you know,
it's a way of a buccaneer.
59
:Holding up my philosophical text that I definitely know how to read to shade my eyes
against the
60
:Waxy son in this guy.
61
:I'm sorry, Cherry, that's very rough on a on a leather.
62
:I'm so sorry about that.
63
:Oh my mistake, sir.
64
:And then as the peg leg like punctures right down on it, you can see it leave a crease as
he walks to another side of the ship.
65
:You come out on the deck, and it is lively.
66
:You see first the captain.
67
:His name is
68
:Will Oldham, the prince.
69
:And he is laughing up a storm, and the men are laughing with him.
70
:And you look around and start to see why.
71
:He has just a massive brute of a pirate standing next to him.
72
:And over that pirate's shoulder is a older man with his bare ass out, and other pirates
are going up and slapping it and laughing.
73
:Who's the ass?
74
:Usually he goes in a barrel first, but you know.
75
:Yeah.
76
:The captain says, well, hello.
77
:It's nice of you to wake up and see what we've got going on.
78
:A little party.
79
:Lover party.
80
:This here is what was his name again?
81
:Another pirate comes in.
82
:Is Quintis or Quintus or something?
83
:Is Quintus?
84
:From Oxford?
85
:Yes, Oxford.
86
:And you know what we do to the king's men here on Poseidon's Rage?
87
:And he points at a pirate.
88
:And the pirate says, We kick their arse!
89
:And he says, We kick their arse.
90
:Now, I'm glad we're all up here.
91
:And I have you all in one place, because well, Quintus here brought us a a gift.
92
:Can anybody guess what that gift may be?
93
:Gold?
94
:Well.
95
:It's a good thought, brat.
96
:It's another good thought, Salty.
97
:And ask.
98
:Yes, most likely.
99
:Uh Isabel, do you have anything you would like to say?
100
:Ash.
101
:Uh
102
:Ash.
103
:No, it's Ash.
104
:You gotta work on your accent there, love.
105
:Ash.
106
:No, it is a map.
107
:What's great?
108
:Pirate tale doesn't start with a map.
109
:I shouldn't Holds it up and it's it's a it's a sizable map.
110
:Well drawn, very interesting, and he holds it up for just the briefest second and then
closes it and deftly folds it and puts it in his coat.
111
:And he is dressed as a naval admiral for the King's
112
:Navy and his admiral hat, large and looming in red, has a shot bullet hole straight
through the middle of it that's circled with black ink, and all over it is just graffiti
113
:that somebody inked all over.
114
:And he just wears his dirty, filthy Admiral.
115
:He maybe he was an admiral, or maybe he stripped it, it's hard to tell.
116
:And he lasts is it well.
117
:We have a bit of old King George with us today.
118
:And oh he points to you, Babida.
119
:What do we say to Old King George when we have him on our ship?
120
:I hope you like the deep He hopes he likes the deep.
121
:Indeed.
122
:We do say that.
123
:Okay.
124
:Well, he spins the guy around the guards dear God, this is
125
:Unbecoming of any gentleman, what have you done to me?
126
:And he looks like he's brick beat red in the sun.
127
:He is old, he's probably in his fifties, which at that time probably looked like he was in
his seventies, and snot is coming out of his nose like he had been sobbing at some point.
128
:And he says, We will see what he thinks of the deep.
129
:And my friends, if the wave is the only true law, what right does old King George have
over us?
130
:Salty, what do you say?
131
:None.
132
:Yes, spoken well and with clarity and a pithy pithy attitude.
133
:I do appreciate that about you, Salty.
134
:No problem, Captain.
135
:Okay.
136
:Now one syllable at the time.
137
:He walks over to Quintus's ass cheeks and squeezes them together, and he says, And if old
King George's pale white ars were right in front of us to boot, what would we do with that
138
:ars, ratskull?
139
:Wah, suppose we boot it, sir?
140
:Right there.
141
:You heard the man.
142
:And he does a high kick up and kicks the man in the ass.
143
:Whoa, I got it right.
144
:Fuck yeah.
145
:Yes.
146
:Now, what do you think, Isabel?
147
:Would we make old King George's man a prisoner and show him what it's like to be under his
liege?
148
:Or, well, would we uh give him the same mercy we give a stowaway rat?
149
:No mercy.
150
:Yeah, the the
151
:Deck erupts No mercy No mercy and you hear Quintus Although in this case that implies
we're taking him prisoner, right?
152
:Did you question the captain Are you are you a mercy was the killing him, right?
153
:No mercy needs no mercy.
154
:Right.
155
:But you said It's about your legal ease you're talking circles around me.
156
:Do you want me to throw him overboard or would you like to chain him up and keep him on
the boat?
157
:Give it to me straight.
158
:Pretty big word.
159
:I'm going to take offense if you don't clarify.
160
:Ransom him.
161
:Oh aye.
162
:We ransom him.
163
:Okay.
164
:Well, what do you think?
165
:Quintus?
166
:Quintus.
167
:Just leave me alone.
168
:Just leave me alone.
169
:And you look out and you see the rest of your crew.
170
:There are only five other sailors, the captain and his first mate.
171
:And behind him is that first mate, which you've grown accustomed to.
172
:But he is or excuse me.
173
:They are a deep one.
174
:And they are a little unsettling to be around at first.
175
:Their face kind of has this nightmarish anatomy.
176
:And at a distance, their mouth looks humanoid, but when they speak or feed, eat, uh, it
almost looks like a visage of a lamprey sucking on things.
177
:And even when it speaks, and the crew avoids the first mate.
178
:He's too beautiful.
179
:This is beautiful.
180
:Sits about five feet high, has gills, needs to jump in the water every once in a while,
and you know the first mate as Mehekta.
181
:And Mehekta leans in and whispers something to the captain.
182
:The captain says, Well, I must retire to my quarters to pour over this map.
183
:And he walks toward the small captain's cabin, and Mehekta follows.
184
:And then
185
:The man behind the wheels he didn't tell us which bearing to take.
186
:You know where we're going, Babida.
187
:I I know the way.
188
:uh which way?
189
:Is it one of those follow your heart type things?
190
:I hate those.
191
:Yeah.
192
:No, it's I've never had a heart.
193
:Yeah, exactly.
194
:Well my fact she says that I know the way and am prone to getting lost.
195
:So I don't know how you want me to fuck this up.
196
:Babida and Isabel both give me a presence roll.
197
:It's the DR 14?
198
:It's 12, always 12, basically, but it's contested between you two, so whoever's higher.
199
:And 18.
200
:Yeah, you're both like that way.
201
:uh his eyes go cross for a single I'll just wait for the captain.
202
:We'll just let the wind take us.
203
:And you are left on the deck to have conversation that you may.
204
:And Quintus is laying on the side.
205
:They don't even bother to tie him up anymore, probably.
206
:He's just like sitting there crying.
207
:you see him try to muster himself through some deep breathing and the sobs come through,
so he's like From the hands.
208
:Right, but Isabel, were you inferring that it would be a mercy to kill him or a mercy to
let him live?
209
:Because you could torture the living fuck out of him, and that doesn't seem like much of a
mercy to me.
210
:But Well the captain the captain said the captain said
211
:Do we give him the same mercy as we give a rat we find in the hold?
212
:And I know we kill those rats.
213
:uh Well, technically we eat Right.
214
:You gotta make use of it somehow.
215
:So do we eat him?
216
:uh God eat him because that's not a rat.
217
:Got it.
218
:So well, if we picked mercy, we could eat him.
219
:Right, right, right, yeah.
220
:So no mercy.
221
:Does that just mean keep kicking him in the ass till it falls off or something?
222
:I didn't really know, so I suggested we ransom him.
223
:Hmm.
224
:These negatives are very confusing.
225
:Yeah, we should probably revisit some of the ship motto's.
226
:Yeah, we've had a few just trying to mon for size, but uh, you know, some a little better
than others, I gotta say.
227
:What was our last one?
228
:Parlay or something.
229
:It's awful.
230
:It's parlay time.
231
:I think was my suggestion.
232
:uh When you get too many modifiers, you are making me think, and I am not liking to be
thinking.
233
:Well speaking of thinking, um maybe we uh is since we've picked no mercy, let's let's
squeeze the lad for as much information as we can get.
234
:Like what's at the end of the map?
235
:I can't stand getting another more uh one more X.
236
:You follow these things, you just find X's.
237
:I hate it!
238
:And always in the red.
239
:Right?
240
:Well, it's traumatic, isn't it?
241
:What else do you expect?
242
:Mauve?
243
:Who the fuck wants to find a mauve X?
244
:you want another letter?
245
:Let's find the mauve U.
246
:That it doesn't have the same ring to it, does it now?
247
:What about tea for treasure?
248
:Oh now that's a good one.
249
:I would search for a gold tea.
250
:Don't be telling us it's an X.
251
:We don't like X's.
252
:So honestly, the sooner that you can just lead us straight to the treasure, the less
you're gonna be on this boat, the less captain's gonna have to torture you.
253
:Your ass is looking pretty sore already.
254
:Like I I don't know.
255
:He seems into it, so we don't judge too much around here.
256
:But uh juicy eyes.
257
:It is quite supple, I must say so myself.
258
:dear God.
259
:jeez.
260
:A lot of us have peg legs.
261
:You don't want us kicking with with those up in there, so I I sincerely recommend
complying.
262
:Have you ever had an ice splinter?
263
:No, no, I've had none of the sort.
264
:Just give give me a second to just to compose myself.
265
:Uh you s sprung me away in the night and have haven't had a week of sleep.
266
:Well no, we were sleeping, so we did no springing of the sort.
267
:And I'm just telling you, the captain is gonna come out of his cabin.
268
:Oh, I gotta work on the obliteration there.
269
:Uh any minute now.
270
:So if you don't give us an answer, then he's gonna kick your ass more.
271
:So it's in your best interest.
272
:Y y you follow?
273
:You follow mate?
274
:Yeah, gimme a presence.
275
:Fuck ye.
276
:Happen to have a plus four in that for some fucking reason.
277
:What?
278
:Rascals got it.
279
:Um yeah, so that's uh fifteen.
280
:Oh, okay.
281
:Okay well I just here doing my part for the crown and I was taken in the night and yes I
had the map I was doing some research at Oxford.
282
:Are we in Oxford?
283
:No, we're in the ocean.
284
:I d I you've never heard of Oxford, I see.
285
:Okay.
286
:I was going to a place that academics and philosophers go, and I was pulling up old paper,
like parchment, and uh studying it.
287
:My studies led me here.
288
:Well, those are some shitty studies then.
289
:It shouldn't have led you here.
290
:It's just bad.
291
:Jesus Jesus Christ.
292
:The study should have had some practical advice about, you know, avoiding getting captured
by pirates and the like.
293
:If this Oxford doesn't sound worth a shit.
294
:Apparently it's not.
295
:It's not.
296
:Ooh, I don't know why you took me.
297
:You took me and took my map.
298
:A map is what I had.
299
:What what do you want from me?
300
:Uh the directions from the map, any any findings, interpretations hen thereforth would be
nice.
301
:Why did you have the map?
302
:You're going to see to my safety.
303
:We all all just look at each other like Everyone gets a little more diagonal, let's say
that.
304
:I d I I I don't know what that means, and I'm so scared.
305
:But we we can do our best to mitigate the likelihood of future harm to your ass there, if
306
:You you can help us out of it.
307
:So it could be worse.
308
:We're trying to make it not that much more worse.
309
:Isabella's preaching no mercy, which is actually good for you, it turns out.
310
:Which which might mean it's anything short of eating you, by my understanding.
311
:By my reckon that eating is a mercy.
312
:So anything less than that is on the menu, technically.
313
:Uh so you know, we we can try to skip over some of the more grisly bits.
314
:If you just tell us where the fuck to go.
315
:Ratzko knows what I like.
316
:Nope.
317
:Yeah, you don't want him back back there.
318
:I'm just telling you.
319
:I'm the most polite on this fucking boat, right?
320
:So come on.
321
:That's my that's my interrogation technique.
322
:Come on.
323
:Give him that.
324
:Let me stand.
325
:He stands up and straightens himself out and then pulls up the flap.
326
:of his pajamas to cover his ass and buttons it.
327
:Well I I was sent by the Crown to to find uh a city.
328
:A city it's called well it's called Cathagos.
329
:El Dorito?
330
:sorry.
331
:Well uh Cathagan.
332
:I was doing my studies and I think I found its location and I came here months ago and
333
:I met some people who had been there, and they helped me map out the city proper.
334
:you've been there?
335
:I myself have not, but they sent a initial excursion, and I was waiting for the second one
to come back with the things that I required.
336
:I it's a a a ship of uh mostly Spanish sailors.
337
:They were they were the black vengeance, I believe.
338
:It was a pretty penny, but the crown is willing to pay.
339
:What was their last heading?
340
:Well, it was northeast from Havana, and he points to where Havana is.
341
:And when were you expecting them back?
342
:Three weeks.
343
:So all we have to do is intercept.
344
:Yeah, yeah.
345
:I think I think you're right, Isabel.
346
:Uh I don't I don't know that those Spaniards are coming back.
347
:Uh what kind of you said it's the second expedition?
348
:What did the first one bring back?
349
:Like what was loot, lad?
350
:Th there was no loot, but they confirmed that the city is real and they mapped out what
they could see from afar.
351
:So that their map i th is that a map to the city or of the city?
352
:'Cause there's a very important distinction in there.
353
:What can I call you, sir?
354
:My name is Quintus.
355
:Mr.
356
:Skull's fine.
357
:Mr Skrull.
358
:Mr Skull, it is it is indeed both.
359
:There's the headings from Havana.
360
:On one side and on the other side it is the map of the city.
361
:Proper.
362
:Convenient.
363
:this has been 'cause this has been twenty two years of my life's work.
364
:It's not a mere convenience.
365
:What a waste.
366
:And you didn't uh So you spent two centuries of your life making a double sided map.
367
:You didn't happen to make any redundant copies of it, did ya?
368
:Cause
369
:That seems like a terrible lack of foresight on one's part.
370
:there are copies and I the the crown has them.
371
:King George himself is interested in this venture.
372
:This is you in fact are not merely impeding me, you're impeding the King of England.
373
:And he says and puffs his chest out.
374
:And you would know that Bill Oldham, the prince, your captain, is he absolutely hates the
king and is a
375
:revolutionary, some might say, and his moniker the prince comes from people relating him
to Robin Hood.
376
:Well orders of magnitude are of no issue here, I see, and um heh also, when we are taking
this place, we are giving it a new name, so its own name is of little consequence.
377
:I am s sorry, but he looks at the ship you and over your head if you think that you can do
anything in this city.
378
:Explain yourself.
379
:This is not a mere human city.
380
:This city is built long ago by an ancient civilization.
381
:Some people even say a civilization that came from the stars.
382
:I believe that, and he leans in close, assuming that you would know this, the Atlintean
liturgies reside here.
383
:And with them comes a legendary, reality-warping power.
384
:You're saying a few words I am needing you for to say more words about that.
385
:I do think I said quite a few words, but this Atlantian liturgis the Atlantian liturgis,
sorry, I'm so scared.
386
:I I think the problem is is the length.
387
:Use more words but smaller Okay.
388
:Let me think here.
389
:Is it a liturgy, a book?
390
:Yes, uh it would I believe it is a book, yes.
391
:So we're looking for a book.
392
:Why you gotta say it like that?
393
:The words carry importance.
394
:You keep talking like this, I'm going to take it as a sign of great disrespect.
395
:Okay.
396
:Well I d just tell me how to fucking talk.
397
:I'm so scared Okay, okay.
398
:Ratskall, Ratskal, why are you why are you letting them speak to me this like this way?
399
:Because you didn't answer my fucking question, right?
400
:Like I just asked you to tell me where the fucking city was, and then you you go to look
over my shoulder here.
401
:I'm the most fucking personable person here.
402
:So That's definitely true.
403
:Yeah.
404
:That it's Todd.
405
:I believe it they call it the the new world.
406
:The Yucatan, maybe.
407
:I don't I don't know, but I I can the map will get you there and your captain has it.
408
:Like d
409
:Do not worry, you will get there, but it is what you will find there.
410
:I it is a city of disgusting very disgusting salty.
411
:I saw that.
412
:Cannot focus while you are picking your nose.
413
:Okay.
414
:I don't see how I'm part of this interrogation.
415
:Jeez, I I
416
:He looks the city.
417
:You're saying there's disgusting people in the city?
418
:That sounds like our kind of place.
419
:And reality warping physics to make our greatest dreams come true.
420
:So I'm not seeing a downside here.
421
:I don't think he said that last bit, but I'm here for it.
422
:Reality warping, which means wish-granting manifestation.
423
:I'm pretty sure.
424
:It's based on this book.
425
:I say holding it clearly upside down.
426
:It's like, yeah.
427
:Sir, that is that is uh that's Hegel.
428
:Not okay.
429
:Okay.
430
:Bless you.
431
:When we get there Do you need to do caigles?
432
:I've done plenty the past twenty-four hours.
433
:When we get there, there will be there is a cult.
434
:I think they're they refer to themselves or I've come to refer them to them as the
wretched that are none too friendly to any interlopers.
435
:They were the first to discover the the city after it emerged from the water.
436
:Dangerous.
437
:Well, I don't know.
438
:I don't mean to diminish your powers of observation, but we're pretty fucking dangerous
ourselves.
439
:So if you're so worried about this rat shit called, then why should we?
440
:Right?
441
:We fuck you up, so we're probably stronger than them.
442
:Real thing you have said this entire time, please explain yourselves.
443
:But remember, many small words.
444
:And explaining and explaining and explaining and expla I'll do better.
445
:Here's what I'll say it is dangerous.
446
:There is treasure that is completely alien to anything you've ever seen, and the crown has
a keen interest in it, and that is why I'm here.
447
:And I believe you're going to end up taking me there anyway.
448
:And if you're lucky Hopefully in one piece, yeah.
449
:The the more answers we get, the more likely it is just the one piece.
450
:ah Speaking speaking of the crown, who will uh and this is a question that Isabel is
directing to this fellow.
451
:Who will miss you?
452
:Well my beautiful wife, Dorothy and And how much will she pay to have you back?
453
:She would pay a king's ransom.
454
:No, I mean like how many pieces?
455
:I mean we have an estate that she could leverage.
456
:Um a number.
457
:We don't talk in vagaries.
458
:What currency do you you have here?
459
:You have silver, correct?
460
:I believe.
461
:I mean it would be a hundred thousand silver.
462
:Well only a hundred fucking silver?
463
:Thousand What is it a hundred or a thousand?
464
:god, god.
465
:Magnitude.
466
:We we keep talking about orders of magnitude, Redskill.
467
:We talked about this many times.
468
:It's zeros.
469
:It doesn't sound like much, but it is a lot.
470
:It it means a lot.
471
:Right, right, right.
472
:As you say that, the cap the cabin door opens up and the captain comes out.
473
:Alright, lads.
474
:We know exactly where we're going, and it's straight to treasure.
475
:Hooray!
476
:I know the way.
477
:Isabel Yes, yes, yes, you do know the way, but last time you gave us directions we ended
up lost and
478
:I'm going to use the map this time if it I you I trust you won't mutiny.
479
:um one last question for Quenchas.
480
:That Spanish ship, how many guns did it have?
481
:I I I don't know much about ships.
482
:Um there were six holes on each side.
483
:The captain walks up and talks to the navigator.
484
:He's like, Alright, we're going northeast, northwest, all right, and spins the wheel and
catches the wind, and you are off.
485
:Wait, which north with what which way are we going?
486
:He did keep saying east, but I'm pretty sure the Yucatan's to the west.
487
:I know where we're going.
488
:Yeah.
489
:Yeah.
490
:It goes out past Havana, you lose the land, and then bears east.
491
:And it's a few nights of sailing and traveling.
492
:It's pretty clean water.
493
:The Caribbean is beautiful, and you get into the deeper ocean and
494
:It is a little rockier, but it's the the open sea.
495
:The good kind of water, not polluted from the city.
496
:Are you drinking seawater, Saltley?
497
:Just a little.
498
:Right.
499
:You know, I don't mean for you.
500
:I think that's why you got all that phlegm kind of fucking about in there.
501
:You know.
502
:I didn't realize you'd gotten your doctorate, Rapskill.
503
:Of course I got a doctorate.
504
:I killed him back in Havana.
505
:Look, that guy's right here.
506
:And diploma is fucking diploma right here.
507
:It's the same book, yeah.
508
:Yeah, as you're sailing, there are some goals that start to trail the ship.
509
:Can somebody roll me a D6?
510
:Three.
511
:I'm sorry, this is a completely random aside, but yes, my book is actually someone's
dissertation that I stole because I'm obsessed with philosophy.
512
:I'm a philosopher.
513
:And I carry a book with me at all times, so this is my doctorate of philosophy, is just
reading air quotes out of this book from someone's dissertation on crustaceans.
514
:I do notice it says philosophizer.
515
:Well, perhaps one needs a title out of it.
516
:That's how you know he knows what he's talking about.
517
:Thank you, fist bump.
518
:Yeah, as as you are talking and philosophizing on the deck, you see three seagulls that
look w look rabid.
519
:In a way and converts get they come down like and they come swinging at and you see the
the ship surgeon, Mother Marrow, and she's standing there and a goal just comes up and
520
:starts pecking and just tears her ear off.
521
:And she's like Ow!
522
:my god!
523
:My ear And then the goal the other two come flying down.
524
:Can somebody give me a D6 for initiative?
525
:Five.
526
:You guys all go first.
527
:There's one goal on Mother Marrow's head pecking her ear off and two more streaming down
towards the deck.
528
:You guys choose who goes first in what order.
529
:That's a good ear.
530
:That's a good ear.
531
:And he'll just pull this uh machete, runic insignia all over it, and walk over and take
try and slice this thing in twain.
532
:Yeah.
533
:Go ahead, give me that strength roll.
534
:Yeah.
535
:Always looking for a twelve.
536
:Well, uh an eighteen will do it, and a D6 of damage gets me two whole damage.
537
:Hey, you're lucky.
538
:These goals have two head points.
539
:Just absolutely lops the head off and catches the chunk of ear out of it.
540
:Maybe uh no, picks it up off the ground.
541
:That's more his speed.
542
:Picks it up.
543
:You'll be right as rain in the moment.
544
:Stick, stick.
545
:You can stitch this back on You idiot, I'm the surgeon.
546
:Who's gonna stitch it back on?
547
:I can't do it to myself.
548
:Very use a mirror Just don't don't put it on the wrong side.
549
:Thank you.
550
:Who's next?
551
:Isabel is going to start blasting.
552
:There's two gulls left.
553
:I'll make attacks until either they're dead or I'm out of attacks.
554
:How many attacks do you have again?
555
:Three.
556
:Dang.
557
:So give me that presence.
558
:it's presence, not agility?
559
:It's present.
560
:Yeah.
561
:no.
562
:Shoot.
563
:She has a lot of guns, but can she use them?
564
:They're mostly for show.
565
:Yikes.
566
:Yikes, yikes, yikes.
567
:So here's the first one.
568
:It's a seven.
569
:Miss.
570
:Here's the second one.
571
:It's a nineteen.
572
:So that's a hit.
573
:For six damage.
574
:Oof.
575
:Um
576
:And the third attack is a five, so it's a miss.
577
:Yeah.
578
:I can how where are you holding the third gun?
579
:Is it like I can only imagine that you have an elaborate mechanism so that you can hold it
in your mouth and like bite down to pull the trigger?
580
:No, she drops them as she fires.
581
:that's wasteful.
582
:Yeah, but it's sick.
583
:It's just like belt, belt, belt, boom.
584
:But then she has to go pick them all up.
585
:Yeah.
586
:It takes a round to reload each of so I shoot and then I take three rounds to reload.
587
:my god.
588
:Well there's one goal left.
589
:Right.
590
:Babita, do you want this one?
591
:Or should I just let old faithful rip?
592
:You give it a try.
593
:I will use whatever is left.
594
:Alright then.
595
:I just k hop and precariously balance on my right leg, the left whoops as I just go and sh
596
:Yeah.
597
:As I'm going to use my Gotmon Musket leg?
598
:Tell me, does a twenty two uh happen to do it?
599
:Yes.
600
:Is that a crit some way?
601
:Or you're gonna plus like a million to your presence.
602
:I don't know.
603
:The random character generator was kind and gave me a plus four to presence.
604
:Oh so that is gonna be eight damage on the gull.
605
:Is it just feathers?
606
:Yes, yes.
607
:There's two
608
:Mist clouds and feathers falling down, and you have a meal out of one, uh that's still on
the deck while the others are destroyed.
609
:I will cast raise the dead on the the one without a head.
610
:And you will land gracefully with all feathers intact or right on my shoulder, as if
nothing is wrong.
611
:Give me the spirit roll.
612
:I don't have to do that.
613
:I'm not a pussy.
614
:No you no role is required.
615
:really?
616
:Just in that romantic.
617
:Yeah.
618
:really?
619
:What do you name your your scavenging seagull?
620
:Big neck for the head on it.
621
:Big neck.
622
:So it doesn't make a sound, it's just like this like headless gold It is quiet just the
way I like.
623
:It tries to call it honk if it like really works at it.
624
:A little spurda spurta blood, spurter blood.
625
:Right.
626
:There are eternal liquids floating this way and that.
627
:I was going to eat that.
628
:You have the headslock.
629
:You can have the odd there's.
630
:This one is mine.
631
:I'll stick it on like a lollipop.
632
:Go fuck.
633
:Yeah.
634
:Smooth sailing for some time again.
635
:Anybody who's above deck typically give me a presence.
636
:I went downstairs to polish my rifle.
637
:Well these other chuckle fucks are upstairs.
638
:Yeah.
639
:Where did that shot come from?
640
:I fail.
641
:Okay.
642
:Just looking for a twelve.
643
:Yeah, I know.
644
:Okay.
645
:Have a natural.
646
:Ooh.
647
:That seems a pretty good isn't our presence guy downstairs.
648
:What did you get, Bibida?
649
:A natural twin.
650
:Well well.
651
:Bibida the sea as it flies up and
652
:Splash your face here and there.
653
:I'm loving it.
654
:Yeah.
655
:And ahead you spot a strange movement under the water.
656
:And as you get close with a natural 20, you pick it out right away.
657
:It is coral.
658
:It's a massive coral reef that you are headed full wind ahead towards.
659
:Watch out, you stupid beaches.
660
:Yeah.
661
:The the guy in the the nest the or sorry, yeah.
662
:What do they call those things?
663
:um You're having the perspective and you're waiting for me to see it.
664
:Yeah, his name's Gallows Gideon and he's like, I'm so sorry.
665
:There's something I had He forgot his glasses.
666
:He was polishing his rifle.
667
:He was polished his rifle up there.
668
:Yeah, and there is a jagged reef in
669
:You see the man at the helm flip the wheel trying to get the sails to turn around and the
captain says Lower the sails Oh who's up to help?
670
:Yeah Sc Scrags He's grabbing ropes, pulling ropes.
671
:Give me an agility.
672
:He's strong.
673
:He's not smart.
674
:agility.
675
:Oh no.
676
:Oh you know what?
677
:Actually, yeah, let's give strength.
678
:Yeah, yeah.
679
:It doesn't matter, I would say, as he gets uh a a four.
680
:With the strength.
681
:You're trying and trying and like you get your ar own hand tangled up and get drunk like
with some of it.
682
:Uh the sails are not coming down.
683
:Can Isabel help?
684
:Oh, it wasn't.
685
:Of course, that in the bat.
686
:Uh natural one on agility.
687
:Okay.
688
:Isabel takes two steps and one of her two peg legs uh actually gets caught in a rope.
689
:Like it just winds around it as it's going past and just zp.
690
:Yeah, okay.
691
:I am not meaning to be rude about this, but how many meat legs do we have amongst us?
692
:Not many.
693
:I have some well as I pulled across the deck.
694
:I believe several legs were considered a mercy, whenever we ran out of supplies.
695
:Okay.
696
:Uh It's Isabel, roll me a D twenty.
697
:Thirteen.
698
:Okay.
699
:Times ten, that's how many feet you're thrown off the ship into the water.
700
:That is a long way.
701
:130 feet.
702
:And can you swim with peg legs?
703
:I hope you have upper body strength.
704
:You you can try.
705
:Um Splash Isabelle's in the water.
706
:Uh anybody el Rat Skull, are you emerging?
707
:Yeah, I've emerged.
708
:Uh it's a good thing I cleaned my rifle.
709
:Can I attempt to shoot the rope that is keeping the sails suspended?
710
:To try and drop them post haste.
711
:Yeah.
712
:I imagine you just stick your leg out of the like cabin quarter like the little pore.
713
:Yeah, roll that presence.
714
:That is an eighteen?
715
:Oof.
716
:It phrase and the sails drop and the ship slows down.
717
:It's still going quick towards the reef.
718
:It hits it.
719
:Can somebody roll me a D eight?
720
:Wow.
721
:Yeah.
722
:And so there the hole does a negative two for armor, so it just scratches a little bit on
this coral and goes We d we dunk off of it.
723
:We hear tiger screech sound effects for some reason.
724
:The captain comes out and he says Ratskull, Ratzko.
725
:Up top.
726
:I know I know it's a bit hard for you to
727
:accessibility of the ship is is wanting, but please, can you Isabel just gave me a wicked
idea.
728
:And I wanna try to rope and fling myself up to the gross nest.
729
:Yeah, gimme an agility.
730
:good, I have a minus one in that.
731
:Good, because you wanna roll low.
732
:Apparently.
733
:That's what I learned.
734
:so that's a ten total.
735
:Yeah, you you're able it's cruising up there.
736
:It's the brakes that don't work.
737
:And you just smash right into the crow's nest and hit your head.
738
:So you're gonna take a minus two on any presence checks now, because you are concussed.
739
:And the captain's like oh Rat, what dear god you guys.
740
:Uh i where is Isabel?
741
:That way, sir.
742
:She's up bolt.
743
:Big neck has just taken between his two flappy feet the freight end of one of these ropes
and it started to fly out towards Isabel's location.
744
:Nice.
745
:How does he know which way he's going?
746
:You really have to give him one direction from the beginning, and if that is not working
well then call it all off.
747
:But how does he hear the direction though?
748
:Well i it's more of a I
749
:I release him in that way.
750
:Ah, okay, alright.
751
:I like how you explain yourself to Rascal.
752
:You're shouting up at him.
753
:He's like, how'd that happen?
754
:But you are not quite getting it, but I promise it is working.
755
:We have a system.
756
:How does it know to drop the rope?
757
:Well, it's ever so gently angled into the surf, and so it is going to crash at one point
or another.
758
:I am hoping that my direction is good enough.
759
:And and hypothetically, if there was a leopard shock in the way between Isabel and I
grabbed the rope.
760
:Super super fucked.
761
:No reason for me to ask that, but uh Yeah, you grab the rope and it's like the s this the
tail of the scorpion who rides the back on the what the whatever animal and the the goal
762
:the headless ghoul sits on your back in an eerie manner.
763
:You feel its little claws kinda
764
:Giving you little birdie massage and you are pulled up to the ship.
765
:Roll agility or be hurled to the other side.
766
:Yes, he no, you're good.
767
:You get on and you're back on and the captain says, Okay, we have to take it easy.
768
:I'll take the helm.
769
:And he grabs it and yells up, Rat, please, guide us through the coral.
770
:All right, sir.
771
:How's the seventeen do ya?
772
:It does me quite well.
773
:You start
774
:to cruise through it and you're you know deftly going around from up there the coral is
strange it's it's like it gives a depth to the ocean that is deceiving which is probably
775
:why you didn't see it has an unnatural shade and it kind of this amethyst glow presents
itself every once in a while and as you're drifting through it slowly you know cat been
776
:oldem is shouting
777
:orders up to the two up top to find the way through, but you start to get a little
hypnotized by this from up there.
778
:Can both of you make a spirit roll?
779
:That's Ratskull and who else?
780
:Yeah, who went up with Ratskill.
781
:Did anyone?
782
:Anyone?
783
:I don't think so.
784
:So that means this is either pretty good or pretty bad, because that's a four.
785
:Ratskill gussed himself I wasn't inclined.
786
:Yeah.
787
:The concussions making the patterns look very enticing.
788
:So sleepy.
789
:Yeah.
790
:You are looking down at this and the geometry of it is just wrong.
791
:You are expecting static coral, but it feels like it moves ev in your peripheral vision
every time you scan over it and it's throwing you for a loop.
792
:Your eyes start to water looking at it and you get vertigo.
793
:And give me a toughness.
794
:This feels somewhat important.
795
:Don't fuck me over, Dice.
796
:I like this character.
797
:Okay, alright.
798
:That is a 19 with the plus one.
799
:You don't pass out and fall over out of the crow's nest, but you have to sit down and
avoid looking at it.
800
:You will not be able to guide the ship anymore.
801
:The captain's like, Rut!
802
:Hey!
803
:As you scrape into some coral.
804
:So it's it's in my head.
805
:I can close my eyes and still say it.
806
:It's not in the ocean, it's around us.
807
:There's nothing we can do.
808
:It's just getting consumed.
809
:Oh Christ.
810
:Is Rax come taking ash?
811
:He's got the coral madness, sir.
812
:No, we don't we don't want to start more rumours, Salty I There's no madness.
813
:Okay, uh who who's going up there?
814
:Isabel will go.
815
:With two peg legs.
816
:Isabel, please, can you
817
:See if Rat's okay and guide us through this maze.
818
:so yeah, Isabel uh scuttles up the rigging.
819
:That is what a thing to watch, Isabel.
820
:Probably.
821
:Your upper body strength.
822
:Something.
823
:Okay.
824
:Okay, Isabel, you see this quarrel.
825
:Can you give me a presence roll?
826
:It's presence, not spirit, right?
827
:Presence to guide the ship.
828
:That's a six, so I do in fact know the way.
829
:Yep.
830
:Yeah.
831
:Onward.
832
:Quickest way is a straight line, right?
833
:Dead ahead.
834
:Yeah.
835
:Okay.
836
:And he pushes forward.
837
:Now, Isabel, as you're looking down at this coral, the same thing starts to happen to you.
838
:You feel like you have vertigo.
839
:Give me a spirit roll.
840
:I have a minus three to this.
841
:It's the human minimum.
842
:You got a checking like you were going to have some advantage if it was spirit.
843
:It's really just so that you didn't fall into a trench.
844
:Uh I collapse.
845
:Okay.
846
:So you rolled a thirteen?
847
:I did, which minus three is ten.
848
:Yeah.
849
:You wait, you know what, actually, this might be a great time.
850
:Well, I should have done it for crashing the ship, but I'm gonna spend an omen.
851
:devil's luck.
852
:Yeah.
853
:What do you you're gonna re-roll or are you going to just If I give it minus four DR, I
succeed, right?
854
:Do it.
855
:Uh or do you can you only do that before you roll?
856
:What are the rules here?
857
:It doesn't say.
858
:Let's just have fun.
859
:Yeah.
860
:Yeah.
861
:You you know, you start to feel it.
862
:And the for you it's almost like a dread that comes over you.
863
:It just is gone and it's coral and you see the path forward.
864
:When you use your devil's luck, how do you call on that?
865
:I think that uh yeah, Isabel is getting hypnotized by the by the coral and begins to sway
and actually uh catches her palm on a splinter on the edge of the crow's nest.
866
:It's like ow, shit.
867
:So she she gets lucky.
868
:Yeah.
869
:Yeah.
870
:You look down it it is deep and the nurse surgeon
871
:Missing an ear, so on your own for this one.
872
:She picks it out with her teeth.
873
:In rat school, Isabella's up here with you now.
874
:The funniest choice for a navigator.
875
:Okay.
876
:Silent.
877
:He's silent, but he's Oh sorry.
878
:Sorry, Lex.
879
:Sorry.
880
:I forgot how to speak.
881
:I just there's tears running down my eyes.
882
:Do you say it?
883
:I slap him.
884
:Oh fuck, that's not very nice.
885
:I'm good class, do you know?
886
:What?
887
:Did that cure my concussion?
888
:It snaps you out of it.
889
:Yeah.
890
:Yeah, do you wanna try navigating again?
891
:Right.
892
:Well fucking hell.
893
:I she's gonna lead us into fucking coral again, so yeah, why not?
894
:Jesus Christ.
895
:Yeah.
896
:That's a Jesus Christ.
897
:Uh so yeah, if I'm only have a plus two to presence, that's a twenty-one.
898
:Yeah.
899
:I'm gonna keep this d20.
900
:Thank you.
901
:Um Isabel, you you got rat back on track.
902
:I appreciate it.
903
:Just stay up there, I don't want to make you climb down again.
904
:And you navigate through this coral.
905
:Salty and Babida, what are you doing as the ship is trying to get through this maze?
906
:Please.
907
:I am it trying to use a big neck for to navigate, which I'm not realizing that eyes are a
fairly important component of the seeing.
908
:And the the deciding, but perhaps there is like a smelling that can still happen from the
neck hole.
909
:Yeah, yeah.
910
:So you want the bird to fly in front of you and smell?
911
:Big neck is flying in front and is through the neck hole, and perhaps that is providing
some idea as of left or as of right as which one.
912
:The way to go.
913
:Mechanically useless.
914
:Uh, and but that is what they are always telling me.
915
:Yeah, it's just making everybody uneasy.
916
:It just sounds like a middle-aged man is snoring at all hours of day and night.
917
:And I think Scraggs is just staring into the water at this like coral stuff.
918
:He's going for that high, baby.
919
:Okay, Scraggs.
920
:As you stare into it, you also notice that the first mate is swimming alongside the boat
through the coral on the side of the ship.
921
:That trimmy person.
922
:Yeah.
923
:And he's just swimming along.
924
:And it's common for him to swim beside the boat sometimes, but you would think with this
hypnotic coral it's Yeah.
925
:I i I mean Scraggs is no stranger to swimming alongside the ship, you know, the the mood
strikes him, but nothing as beautiful as Mahekta's stuff.
926
:Like it is there's a purity to be admired with them, like if only.
927
:They're but for the grace of Dagon Go I.
928
:Yeah, it indeed.
929
:Yeah, Mahekta he is like a dolphin, or sorry.
930
:They are like a dolphin almost, like it it is something to behold.
931
:But go ahead and give me that spirit check for looking at that coral.
932
:Yeah, I I I may have rolled that and I I'm pretty sure I have a negative.
933
:So five?
934
:Five's good, right?
935
:Mm-hmm.
936
:Yeah, five's great.
937
:Um you start to look into it in where Isabel felt some despair, Ratzgull felt confusion.
938
:You feel an overwhelming sense of oneness with the sea.
939
:And the corals will inviting you to swim with it.
940
:Like you and Mahekta could swim with this together.
941
:Go ahead and give me toughness if you want to resist this.
942
:He doesn't want to resist it.
943
:Finally.
944
:I can I can do it!
945
:I finally today is the day I show him up.
946
:Ha!
947
:Does the uh you know the d the dive where your arms are right out.
948
:Please don't dive right into a coral.
949
:Swan dive.
950
:I'm doing it!
951
:I'm cor just breaks his neck immediately.
952
:Yeah, give me an agility roll to keep up with the ship as you swim.
953
:And are you transforming?
954
:Yeah, yeah.
955
:Once he hits the water, the uh the illusion
956
:that he has two legs goes away.
957
:It it's strange how he never seems to kick Quintus's ass.
958
:Maybe.
959
:He's always slapping.
960
:And it's it's because he in fact only has the tail.
961
:And uh I think it's that same kind of like scrawny bit.
962
:Like you can see all the bones clearly in it as he's a uh a kind of an ugly merman.
963
:And
964
:Immediately with a roll of three starts to fall behind the boat.
965
:Oh my god.
966
:You're going the wrong direction.
967
:Yeah.
968
:Let me go roll me a D twenty to see if Mahecta can notice this and help you.
969
:Natural twenty.
970
:dude he Mehcta
971
:They are your person.
972
:Like they flip around, create like this sick ass whirlpool next to the boat quickly and
then swim double speed what they were going back and throw you over their shoulder and
973
:swim with you in taking you for the ride.
974
:Like this isn't like a hey, I'm gonna get you back on the boat.
975
:They are like, hey, you should enjoy this too.
976
:And you're at one with the sea.
977
:And this quarrel is just emanating to you.
978
:Like you hear it.
979
:It's almost whispering like swim, swim, swim.
980
:He's moving, not accomplishing anything.
981
:And when he comes to, he's not gonna be sure any of this is real.
982
:This is like he has these dreams nightly.
983
:Yeah.
984
:And now it's happening.
985
:Yeah.
986
:As you're swimming.
987
:Mahekta takes you out past one bar of coral and you see the open sea ahead of you and the
ship gets out of the coral maze.
988
:And the water here feels a little thicker.
989
:Like it's y you know, in in like uh like in the beaches of Maine, where it has like a
slate color at times in the winter the the ocean.
990
:It it looks like that, very different than the waters of the Caribbean that you are used
to.
991
:The captain shouts to him, aboard.
992
:What?
993
:Come aboard.
994
:He's stroking Mahekta's jaw.
995
:Yeah, you do that and it's like a the lamprey mouth opens up and you feel the little
spines and teeth.
996
:And they kinda it's like sandpaper in parts.
997
:And he's like, I wish I could be like you water.
998
:Yeah.
999
:You are like me.
:
00:56:18,323 --> 00:56:19,814
You are of the sea.
:
00:56:19,814 --> 00:56:23,916
He's crying, just sobbing into the salt water.
:
00:56:24,136 --> 00:56:26,257
We're all part of the sea.
:
00:56:26,257 --> 00:56:28,519
We are part of the sea.
:
00:56:28,519 --> 00:56:32,881
Where we are going, we will be at home scraps.
:
00:56:35,523 --> 00:56:36,924
I can't wait.
:
00:56:36,924 --> 00:56:38,164
You climb aboard.
:
00:56:38,164 --> 00:56:40,966
The illusion comes back after a moment.
:
00:56:40,966 --> 00:56:44,888
He's gotta do like the I'm just lying down for a second.
:
00:56:45,548 --> 00:56:46,368
Yeah.
:
00:56:48,511 --> 00:56:49,342
Wiggle the toes.
:
00:56:49,342 --> 00:56:50,542
Two legs.
:
00:56:51,363 --> 00:56:52,664
Cat the captain yells.
:
00:56:52,664 --> 00:56:54,165
Bring out Quintus.
:
00:56:54,165 --> 00:56:54,695
Anybody.
:
00:56:54,695 --> 00:56:55,996
I don't fucking care.
:
00:56:55,996 --> 00:56:56,867
Please.
:
00:56:56,867 --> 00:56:57,757
Just get the man.
:
00:56:57,757 --> 00:56:58,768
Yeah.
:
00:57:00,609 --> 00:57:04,881
Somebody get this man away from me.
:
00:57:04,881 --> 00:57:10,135
That's the worst of your worries.
:
00:57:11,897 --> 00:57:13,498
Nightmares about you.
:
00:57:14,399 --> 00:57:15,149
Yes, Captain.
:
00:57:15,149 --> 00:57:17,739
And he he's wearing the same clothes.
:
00:57:17,739 --> 00:57:19,039
hasn't had a change of clothes.
:
00:57:19,039 --> 00:57:24,071
Um has soiled himself a few times and stinks of shit.
:
00:57:24,071 --> 00:57:25,641
Same, honestly.
:
00:57:27,361 --> 00:57:29,842
Yes, Captain, what what can I do for you?
:
00:57:29,842 --> 00:57:33,243
Well, it seems that we're getting close.
:
00:57:33,243 --> 00:57:36,444
W yes, it we we passed the coral.
:
00:57:36,444 --> 00:57:38,704
It's the thick water, Captain.
:
00:57:38,704 --> 00:57:40,025
The thick water.
:
00:57:40,025 --> 00:57:40,725
Hmm.
:
00:57:40,725 --> 00:57:43,465
It is th he looks down interesting.
:
00:57:43,465 --> 00:57:44,786
Lower a bucket.
:
00:57:45,940 --> 00:57:52,312
He takes it out and he doesn't taste it, he snorts at this is strange water.
:
00:57:53,871 --> 00:57:59,654
Hm Right, the water is the strange part in that equation.
:
00:57:59,654 --> 00:58:02,354
Well it's a double C thick.
:
00:58:02,735 --> 00:58:07,036
Yes, it's it's triple C thick, I I presume.
:
00:58:08,316 --> 00:58:14,678
I'm covered in it, I am Don't lick yourself, Scrags.
:
00:58:14,860 --> 00:58:20,204
Mecta in your swim what did you find?
:
00:58:20,705 --> 00:58:29,011
I found scrags and the coral is what we are looking for.
:
00:58:29,011 --> 00:58:30,453
What we are looking for?
:
00:58:30,453 --> 00:58:34,075
It smells of katagan.
:
00:58:34,075 --> 00:58:37,009
So if we hit the thick water we went too far?
:
00:58:37,009 --> 00:58:40,501
No Somebody slapped Quintus's a Oh okay, never mind.
:
00:58:40,501 --> 00:58:44,063
No, we're right on target.
:
00:58:44,129 --> 00:58:45,399
Terraquintus.
:
00:58:45,580 --> 00:58:46,360
Mm?
:
00:58:46,560 --> 00:58:48,041
Yes, we we are.
:
00:58:48,221 --> 00:59:00,068
what we should expect is the the city is in an alcover bay of sorts, and it should be
another day's ride up the coast, Nee points out, and you see land in the distance.
:
00:59:00,068 --> 00:59:03,570
It's uh I hope you can get a night's rest.
:
00:59:03,570 --> 00:59:07,779
Gideon, is it your job to do the landhoe thing?
:
00:59:07,779 --> 00:59:11,894
Ah well Radskull was up there.
:
00:59:11,894 --> 00:59:13,535
It's his job now.
:
00:59:13,723 --> 00:59:14,944
it is, is it?
:
00:59:14,944 --> 00:59:21,638
Well shit fuck fuck Landhoo Almost wanted to do that.
:
00:59:21,638 --> 00:59:27,141
It's a it's a good try, you gotta get a bit your pitches on your a LAN hoo!
:
00:59:27,141 --> 00:59:28,392
So everyone hears.
:
00:59:28,392 --> 00:59:31,374
Oh right, that's good projection, yeah, yeah.
:
00:59:31,374 --> 00:59:32,574
Yeah, see?
:
00:59:32,574 --> 00:59:36,436
That way the captain hears ya Anyway Right next to him.
:
00:59:36,877 --> 00:59:37,497
Yeah.
:
00:59:37,497 --> 00:59:38,617
Gideon.
:
00:59:40,003 --> 00:59:40,907
Well
:
00:59:40,907 --> 00:59:43,998
We have a night of merriment as we sail along the coast.
:
00:59:45,820 --> 00:59:49,342
Can everybody roll me 4D20?
:
00:59:49,342 --> 00:59:50,822
And sum them up?
:
00:59:50,822 --> 00:59:52,250
Nah, just yeah.
:
00:59:52,250 --> 00:59:53,624
Just tell you three numbers?
:
00:59:53,624 --> 00:59:53,994
Three numbers?
:
00:59:53,994 --> 00:59:54,705
Or four numbers?
:
00:59:54,705 --> 00:59:55,405
Yeah.
:
00:59:55,405 --> 00:59:56,897
One at a time though.
:
00:59:56,926 --> 00:59:59,177
I'll just put them in chat for sake.
:
00:59:59,177 --> 00:59:59,847
perfect.
:
00:59:59,847 --> 01:00:00,117
Yeah.
:
01:00:00,117 --> 01:00:01,108
Put it in chat.
:
01:00:01,108 --> 01:00:02,577
I didn't roll above a 10.
:
01:00:02,577 --> 01:00:02,863
my god.
:
01:00:02,863 --> 01:00:04,450
That's a good thing, right?
:
01:00:04,460 --> 01:00:05,550
my god.
:
01:00:05,550 --> 01:00:08,652
So Scrags was four three nine nine.
:
01:00:08,660 --> 01:00:11,901
Isabel is eight three three six.
:
01:00:11,901 --> 01:00:22,884
Oof Babida is twenty fourteen eight and eleven and Jerry Ratskull is eighteen fourteen ten
and five.
:
01:00:22,884 --> 01:00:25,765
Alright, we'll start with Scraggs.
:
01:00:25,765 --> 01:00:28,906
Scraggs, you spend the night carousing.
:
01:00:28,906 --> 01:00:29,506
Ha!
:
01:00:29,506 --> 01:00:35,728
Oh it's a small ship, you know everybody on here, but you've made enemies with somebody.
:
01:00:35,728 --> 01:00:36,508
Yeah.
:
01:00:36,508 --> 01:00:37,396
And that
:
01:00:37,396 --> 01:00:41,718
Somebody is the hog in the hold below deck.
:
01:00:41,718 --> 01:00:43,259
Hog in the hold.
:
01:00:43,259 --> 01:00:44,920
Yes, yes.
:
01:00:44,920 --> 01:00:47,942
Always said the hog's the mermaid of the land.
:
01:00:47,942 --> 01:00:50,243
Son of a bitch thinks he's all that.
:
01:00:50,243 --> 01:00:59,548
Yeah, and you wake up, and at first when you wake up, you think you are in a dark,
lightless cave, and you panic.
:
01:00:59,548 --> 01:01:05,601
And you hear the oinking in the side of your ear, and the hog is laying on your face.
:
01:01:05,601 --> 01:01:06,612
Right there.
:
01:01:06,612 --> 01:01:07,136
Right.
:
01:01:07,136 --> 01:01:12,107
On your face, and you are now haunted by this hog's oink.
:
01:01:12,107 --> 01:01:13,588
Haunted by the hog.
:
01:01:13,588 --> 01:01:15,588
Yes.
:
01:01:15,588 --> 01:01:16,868
Hogginted.
:
01:01:16,868 --> 01:01:19,029
Babida, our friend.
:
01:01:19,049 --> 01:01:25,650
Babida, you had dinner last night, and you know you had dinner with yourself.
:
01:01:25,850 --> 01:01:27,291
Good company.
:
01:01:27,291 --> 01:01:28,251
Indeed.
:
01:01:28,251 --> 01:01:33,532
And you wake up swinging from the mast, upside down.
:
01:01:33,532 --> 01:01:35,013
Say what now?
:
01:01:35,013 --> 01:01:37,133
Back and forth, back and forth.
:
01:01:37,181 --> 01:01:40,604
And you wake up and you are ravenously hungry.
:
01:01:40,604 --> 01:01:42,245
Is always.
:
01:01:42,526 --> 01:01:50,093
Isabel, you had a wild night, but you stole from that pig downstairs.
:
01:01:50,093 --> 01:01:51,415
Yeah, the same pig.
:
01:01:51,415 --> 01:01:53,316
I don't know what you stole from them.
:
01:01:53,316 --> 01:01:55,478
And you wake up in your bunk.
:
01:01:55,478 --> 01:01:59,682
But you are missing your pinky.
:
01:01:59,682 --> 01:02:01,724
Hey, where'd I put that thing?
:
01:02:01,724 --> 01:02:02,865
Rat Skull.
:
01:02:03,057 --> 01:02:14,905
Wha wait, that's the subtotal You guys had a good night?
:
01:02:15,066 --> 01:02:17,347
I gotta get a peg pinky now.
:
01:02:17,347 --> 01:02:19,909
Okay.
:
01:02:19,909 --> 01:02:20,870
This is great.
:
01:02:20,870 --> 01:02:22,971
Uh rat school.
:
01:02:23,091 --> 01:02:29,416
you wake up and you last night you got married to yourself somehow.
:
01:02:29,416 --> 01:02:31,257
And you
:
01:02:31,618 --> 01:02:36,122
Wake up deep in the hold and you're sitting in a coffin.
:
01:02:36,122 --> 01:02:42,687
The coffin that the captain brings with him just in case he comes across King George, and
you're passed out in it.
:
01:02:42,687 --> 01:02:47,391
And when you wake up, you are haggard.
:
01:02:47,391 --> 01:02:51,074
Like that marriage to yourself wore you ragged.
:
01:02:51,074 --> 01:02:52,475
Can you roll me a D4?
:
01:02:52,475 --> 01:02:56,318
Whoa, I always said the honeymoon would really take it out of you.
:
01:02:56,318 --> 01:02:57,399
That's a two?
:
01:02:57,399 --> 01:02:58,100
Okay.
:
01:02:58,100 --> 01:03:01,314
Yeah, you have t two less hit points right now.
:
01:03:01,314 --> 01:03:02,815
I have one hit point remaining.
:
01:03:02,815 --> 01:03:03,616
Oh, okay.
:
01:03:03,616 --> 01:03:05,217
There you go.
:
01:03:05,217 --> 01:03:06,799
This could have killed him.
:
01:03:06,799 --> 01:03:09,151
It literally I could have fucked myself.
:
01:03:09,151 --> 01:03:12,403
And so I was rolling off of this carousing table for your night.
:
01:03:12,403 --> 01:03:16,807
I was about to ask, what the hell table was that?
:
01:03:16,807 --> 01:03:29,474
And I love it.
:
01:03:29,902 --> 01:03:31,983
The captain looks like he carroused too.
:
01:03:31,983 --> 01:03:39,942
He's wearing his pants backwards and comes out with a half mug of rum still.
:
01:03:39,942 --> 01:03:42,926
Ugh, boys, what a night.
:
01:03:43,166 --> 01:03:45,542
Isabel, what happened to your pinky?
:
01:03:45,542 --> 01:03:49,108
I uh I I lost it somewhere on the ship.
:
01:03:49,468 --> 01:03:50,748
Let me know if you find it.
:
01:03:50,748 --> 01:03:51,789
Watch your step.
:
01:03:51,789 --> 01:03:53,549
Captain, great news!
:
01:03:53,549 --> 01:03:54,129
Yes.
:
01:03:54,129 --> 01:03:56,470
We had an extra pinky in the holds.
:
01:03:56,865 --> 01:03:57,796
Salty!
:
01:03:57,796 --> 01:03:58,596
You savior!
:
01:03:58,596 --> 01:04:00,295
Give give that to Isabel.
:
01:04:00,295 --> 01:04:06,662
I I do believe it's Finder's Keepers, but if you It's the Pirates Code.
:
01:04:06,662 --> 01:04:09,024
Salt Salty you Finder's Keepers.
:
01:04:09,024 --> 01:04:11,505
It's Finder's Keepers.
:
01:04:11,505 --> 01:04:14,367
That's one of our little mottos that got crossed out.
:
01:04:14,367 --> 01:04:16,949
uh That's right, it was causing too many troubles.
:
01:04:16,949 --> 01:04:18,991
Fine, here you go, Isabel.
:
01:04:18,991 --> 01:04:20,712
She puts it in her pocket.
:
01:04:20,712 --> 01:04:21,672
Okay.
:
01:04:22,533 --> 01:04:25,154
You are g glowing, Rat Skull.
:
01:04:26,002 --> 01:04:27,173
thank you, sir.
:
01:04:27,173 --> 01:04:28,613
I'm a married man today.
:
01:04:28,613 --> 01:04:33,895
Oh, although may want to let that coffin there air out a bit, if you know what I mean.
:
01:04:33,895 --> 01:04:35,236
It's it's an open coffin.
:
01:04:35,236 --> 01:04:35,676
Great.
:
01:04:35,676 --> 01:04:41,649
Um what is did Mother the is Mother Merrow the object of your matrimony?
:
01:04:41,649 --> 01:04:51,512
Uh no, but I am gonna need Mother Marrow to help patch me up a bit, as I think I threw my
back out, giving myself what for last night on the old marriage bed.
:
01:04:51,512 --> 01:04:52,452
Haha.
:
01:04:53,116 --> 01:04:56,019
Congratulatory Pat on the back.
:
01:04:56,019 --> 01:04:57,159
Yeah.
:
01:04:58,221 --> 01:04:59,001
right.
:
01:04:59,082 --> 01:05:00,944
it's a slip disc, alright.
:
01:05:00,944 --> 01:05:02,425
Congratulations, rat.
:
01:05:02,425 --> 01:05:04,646
I I I'm happy for you.
:
01:05:04,907 --> 01:05:06,048
Does he have a ring?
:
01:05:06,048 --> 01:05:10,414
uh
:
01:05:10,414 --> 01:05:10,984
Mm.
:
01:05:10,984 --> 01:05:11,585
Well I do.
:
01:05:11,585 --> 01:05:14,926
I found it on a pinky and it happened to be my five.
:
01:05:14,926 --> 01:05:16,867
Except I have a ring on both fingers.
:
01:05:16,867 --> 01:05:18,948
Like the left hand, right hand.
:
01:05:18,948 --> 01:05:21,030
Because you had to do the the thing.
:
01:05:21,030 --> 01:05:21,570
Uh-huh.
:
01:05:21,570 --> 01:05:22,830
Mm-hmm.
:
01:05:22,931 --> 01:05:24,391
When I turn this way, it's my left.
:
01:05:24,391 --> 01:05:26,232
When I turn that way, it's my right.
:
01:05:26,471 --> 01:05:28,313
Somebody get Babida down.
:
01:05:28,313 --> 01:05:31,695
I'm actually having a pretty good time up here.
:
01:05:31,695 --> 01:05:32,984
Take your time up.
:
01:05:32,984 --> 01:05:33,886
Yeah, never mind.
:
01:05:33,886 --> 01:05:34,186
Leave it.
:
01:05:34,186 --> 01:05:39,889
Just uh
:
01:05:39,889 --> 01:05:43,482
Well we are approaching, I believe.
:
01:05:43,482 --> 01:05:54,101
Ouch Could I talk to Miss Meadow to could I try to get patched up before we disembark,
Captain?
:
01:05:54,101 --> 01:05:54,822
Yeah.
:
01:05:54,822 --> 01:05:58,064
Go ahead and roll me a D twenty for her.
:
01:05:58,064 --> 01:06:04,590
And did we get back our devil's luck or did I fail to spend both of mine and thus it does
not refresh?
:
01:06:04,590 --> 01:06:07,344
You get your devil's luck back, but yeah.
:
01:06:07,344 --> 01:06:08,765
Well that's not another The first time.
:
01:06:08,765 --> 01:06:09,495
The first time.
:
01:06:09,495 --> 01:06:13,008
Okay, so you're gonna lose another pinky if it happens again.
:
01:06:13,008 --> 01:06:14,569
it's an eighteen on the die.
:
01:06:14,569 --> 01:06:14,979
Great.
:
01:06:14,979 --> 01:06:17,651
Yeah, give yourself a D4 of hit points back.
:
01:06:17,651 --> 01:06:18,091
One?
:
01:06:18,091 --> 01:06:18,532
Fuck.
:
01:06:18,532 --> 01:06:19,332
Okay, fine.
:
01:06:19,332 --> 01:06:20,312
Whatever.
:
01:06:21,113 --> 01:06:24,436
and now you have to split it between both sides.
:
01:06:24,436 --> 01:06:26,757
I don't think you've thought this through, rascal.
:
01:06:26,757 --> 01:06:27,420
Ah shit.
:
01:06:27,420 --> 01:06:29,459
Do you know how to divorce yourself?
:
01:06:29,459 --> 01:06:31,320
Did you sign a prenup?
:
01:06:31,961 --> 01:06:36,244
no, I I I'm trying to make a nipple joke and it's just I I got nothing here.
:
01:06:36,244 --> 01:06:37,084
Yeah.
:
01:06:37,414 --> 01:06:44,128
Quintus You guys you sure know how to party, Oh what a night.
:
01:06:44,128 --> 01:06:47,570
Um and he's wearing somebody else's clothes.
:
01:06:47,570 --> 01:06:59,696
Well, um we are on the precipice, everybody, and I this was not the means which I plan to
travel here, but I do thank you for bringing me along.
:
01:06:59,696 --> 01:07:07,420
It's been a rough journey, but um I would like to give a speech, and I want to tell you a
bit about
:
01:07:07,440 --> 01:07:08,921
The city of Cathagen.
:
01:07:08,921 --> 01:07:11,141
And are we letting him do this?
:
01:07:11,322 --> 01:07:18,285
That the prisoner we've been abusing for days is just like let me tell you a story.
:
01:07:18,285 --> 01:07:22,507
Well, he said the word speech is, I think, where we would get rowdy.
:
01:07:23,626 --> 01:07:26,589
Go somebody give me a presence roll.
:
01:07:26,589 --> 01:07:26,999
Three.
:
01:07:26,999 --> 01:07:28,249
Okay.
:
01:07:28,249 --> 01:07:29,390
You hate speeches.
:
01:07:29,390 --> 01:07:34,478
Uh Ratskill he must have found
:
01:07:34,478 --> 01:07:41,153
a stash of ash on board because you see The ash stash some ash on his face.
:
01:07:41,153 --> 01:07:43,014
In the old Yeah, the in his stash.
:
01:07:43,014 --> 01:07:45,825
So he's it's quite unruly now.
:
01:07:46,276 --> 01:07:47,387
his eyes are kite.
:
01:07:47,387 --> 01:07:49,578
Maybe he'll let loose where that treasure is.
:
01:07:49,578 --> 01:07:50,879
Then we can shoot him.
:
01:07:50,879 --> 01:07:52,644
What it is one second.
:
01:07:52,644 --> 01:07:56,583
We're gonna ransom him for a hundred thousand silver, I think he said.
:
01:07:57,124 --> 01:08:00,466
Can somebody roll me a D twenty?
:
01:08:00,466 --> 01:08:03,942
oh
:
01:08:03,942 --> 01:08:06,863
Pick a two or a seven, which one's more interesting, or whoever you like better.
:
01:08:06,863 --> 01:08:07,753
Okay.
:
01:08:07,753 --> 01:08:10,844
Um two is fascinating.
:
01:08:10,844 --> 01:08:13,655
So I will need another D twenty though.
:
01:08:13,655 --> 01:08:14,255
Yeah.
:
01:08:14,255 --> 01:08:15,745
It's a seven, that's what we got.
:
01:08:15,745 --> 01:08:16,345
yeah, yeah, yeah.
:
01:08:16,345 --> 01:08:17,006
Yeah.
:
01:08:17,006 --> 01:08:17,916
Okay, perfect.
:
01:08:17,916 --> 01:08:19,356
Yeah.
:
01:08:19,356 --> 01:08:21,177
He Democracy.
:
01:08:21,177 --> 01:08:23,597
He stumbles forward.
:
01:08:23,597 --> 01:08:28,338
And uh toast to our captain for steering us true.
:
01:08:28,659 --> 01:08:31,520
And the captain's like, What's what's he on about this?
:
01:08:31,520 --> 01:08:33,492
And he's on Ash.
:
01:08:33,526 --> 01:08:39,459
He falls to the deck and k dunk and he tries to lift himself up but can't.
:
01:08:39,459 --> 01:08:43,881
He's like, Uh dear, what is going on?
:
01:08:44,242 --> 01:08:47,054
This is what a life of academia will do to you.
:
01:08:47,054 --> 01:08:48,044
Yeah.
:
01:08:48,044 --> 01:08:49,385
He's not wrong, yeah.
:
01:08:49,385 --> 01:08:55,348
There's an you get next to him and you know those heat lines that come off of highways in
in the sun?
:
01:08:55,348 --> 01:08:57,550
That's coming off the deck now.
:
01:08:57,550 --> 01:09:01,852
And as you take a step forward, it is like you are wading through water.
:
01:09:02,530 --> 01:09:05,522
It's the ash He's on the ash.
:
01:09:05,522 --> 01:09:10,726
eh Well it's a it's a bit hard to move, but I s we we stay along.
:
01:09:10,726 --> 01:09:12,427
Can somebody get him below deck?
:
01:09:12,427 --> 01:09:16,440
Are we not concerned that he's gonna push burst into flames or something?
:
01:09:16,440 --> 01:09:20,172
Well maybe we should get him in the water to cool him off a bit.
:
01:09:20,172 --> 01:09:21,153
Tie a rope to him.
:
01:09:21,153 --> 01:09:24,495
Tie a rope under his arms and overboard he goes.
:
01:09:24,495 --> 01:09:27,317
I was just gonna push him off the plank, but yeah, that works too.
:
01:09:27,317 --> 01:09:29,018
He's being drugged by the buttons.
:
01:09:29,018 --> 01:09:31,079
We're gonna ransom him.
:
01:09:31,079 --> 01:09:32,590
You can grab him?
:
01:09:33,616 --> 01:09:34,696
The fish guy.
:
01:09:34,696 --> 01:09:35,678
Yeah, the fish guy.
:
01:09:35,678 --> 01:09:36,278
Right.
:
01:09:36,278 --> 01:09:36,758
Okay.
:
01:09:36,758 --> 01:09:37,809
uh Sorry.
:
01:09:37,809 --> 01:09:39,600
Um, no speeches.
:
01:09:39,921 --> 01:09:41,042
onward.
:
01:09:41,483 --> 01:09:44,825
Boy, I feel like we missed some exposition there, but that's all right.
:
01:09:44,825 --> 01:09:48,828
Yeah, you get the sense that he was gonna tell you something really important.
:
01:09:49,736 --> 01:09:51,491
Well to hell with that.
:
01:09:51,491 --> 01:09:59,747
Yeah, you sail on and it the clear skies of the Caribbean turn into a cloudy morass above
you.
:
01:09:59,747 --> 01:10:03,480
It's not stormy, it's just a blanket of grey.
:
01:10:03,642 --> 01:10:05,192
You push forward.
:
01:10:05,192 --> 01:10:14,915
And the shore is a normal shore for a while, and then you go around this strange cove, and
there is from afar the city.
:
01:10:14,915 --> 01:10:16,736
Does anybody have a spy glass?
:
01:10:16,736 --> 01:10:18,876
For sure I do.
:
01:10:18,876 --> 01:10:19,576
Yeah.
:
01:10:19,576 --> 01:10:21,457
Are you you're looking through it then I'm guessing?
:
01:10:21,457 --> 01:10:24,378
So what are you stupid?
:
01:10:24,378 --> 01:10:25,878
Yeah, yes.
:
01:10:25,878 --> 01:10:33,640
You look through it and you s start to go through you see jagged land and then you see the
city.
:
01:10:33,724 --> 01:10:37,365
itself and Cathagon, it doesn't look like solid land.
:
01:10:37,365 --> 01:10:42,767
It's like fractured on the edge, fractures on the edge of the world.
:
01:10:42,767 --> 01:10:52,990
There seems to be just this strange architecture that doesn't look like any city you've
seen or town or even jungle.
:
01:10:52,990 --> 01:10:57,971
Like it is just weird shape after weird shape.
:
01:10:57,971 --> 01:11:00,342
And there is emerald smoke
:
01:11:00,400 --> 01:11:09,707
That rises from a massive obelisk looking thing further inland, and there's low clouds
right above it.
:
01:11:09,707 --> 01:11:18,212
And the horizon behind it, where there's a huge mountainside and cliffside, like it was
carved into that.
:
01:11:18,212 --> 01:11:21,575
Not by any civilization you would know.
:
01:11:21,575 --> 01:11:25,097
Uh it looks sickly back there.
:
01:11:25,097 --> 01:11:29,276
Like the rocks are stained with this strange.
:
01:11:29,276 --> 01:11:36,856
Purplish green and you look down at the sea beneath you and it's getting darker and darker
as you've gotten closer.
:
01:11:36,856 --> 01:11:39,463
He said not so good.
:
01:11:39,463 --> 01:11:45,177
And let me get a share a this is what the captain's map looks like.
:
01:11:45,177 --> 01:11:46,588
Like the emerald smoke.
:
01:11:46,588 --> 01:11:49,029
This is what the captain's map looks like?
:
01:11:49,130 --> 01:11:53,873
I mean it's not as good, but I can see why it took him twenty-two years to make this.
:
01:11:53,873 --> 01:11:55,815
This is some qual the illustration.
:
01:11:55,815 --> 01:11:57,872
Damn, this rules.
:
01:11:57,872 --> 01:11:58,882
This is very fun.
:
01:11:58,882 --> 01:12:00,274
I really like this ISO.
:
01:12:00,274 --> 01:12:02,416
And you said you've never seen it.
:
01:12:02,416 --> 01:12:06,418
I've He had a really tall ship and a really good spy glass.
:
01:12:07,340 --> 01:12:09,621
You even got the color right.
:
01:12:10,342 --> 01:12:17,098
I c I commissioned the best map maker and in the crown he's down he's under the t he's
sleeping off ash.
:
01:12:17,098 --> 01:12:17,948
Yeah.
:
01:12:17,948 --> 01:12:24,194
I'm I'm shouting down through like the Although the statute to Cthulhu is a little sus.
:
01:12:24,194 --> 01:12:25,113
It's fine.
:
01:12:25,113 --> 01:12:27,496
What w how do you spell this place's
:
01:12:27,620 --> 01:12:29,641
Name, don't worry about it.
:
01:12:29,681 --> 01:12:30,922
Kathagen.
:
01:12:30,922 --> 01:12:32,773
Totally different from Katung.
:
01:12:32,773 --> 01:12:33,353
Yeah.
:
01:12:33,353 --> 01:12:43,089
And Fatagan definitely not just outta here with that Fatagan tag and if he shows up, we'll
just hit him with the boat.
:
01:12:43,089 --> 01:12:45,410
It works every time.
:
01:12:45,531 --> 01:12:50,934
As you say that, there is a thump on the side of the ship.
:
01:12:50,934 --> 01:12:51,994
Katunk.
:
01:12:52,795 --> 01:12:54,356
On the port side.
:
01:12:56,284 --> 01:12:57,024
Let's go take a look.
:
01:12:57,024 --> 01:12:58,265
We go look.
:
01:12:59,346 --> 01:13:04,308
You look down and Scrags, you see a a merman.
:
01:13:05,168 --> 01:13:08,830
Maybe its body, but it's laying face down.
:
01:13:09,690 --> 01:13:13,052
Hey Does not rouse.
:
01:13:15,023 --> 01:13:17,854
I'm gonna go overboard for just a moment.
:
01:13:20,175 --> 01:13:21,936
Nah, throw him a rope.
:
01:13:23,504 --> 01:13:25,665
We're in weird waters.
:
01:13:26,506 --> 01:13:27,646
Splat.
:
01:13:28,687 --> 01:13:30,258
Please draw on the back of You jump in.
:
01:13:30,258 --> 01:13:32,469
Yeah.
:
01:13:32,659 --> 01:13:34,450
scum.
:
01:13:34,450 --> 01:13:35,861
Yeah, roll a jelly.
:
01:13:35,861 --> 01:13:37,392
Unconvincingly.
:
01:13:37,392 --> 01:13:39,693
Unconvincingly goes over the edge.
:
01:13:39,693 --> 01:13:45,116
He fumbles a sister.
:
01:13:45,276 --> 01:13:45,757
Yeah.
:
01:13:45,757 --> 01:13:48,898
And based on my role, it's very unconvincing.
:
01:13:49,719 --> 01:13:51,640
No, you y you grab
:
01:13:51,684 --> 01:13:55,106
The merman, he is indeed a corpse.
:
01:13:55,287 --> 01:13:56,848
Do you bring him aboard?
:
01:13:57,229 --> 01:14:00,481
Brother No Brother.
:
01:14:00,481 --> 01:14:01,812
That's fine.
:
01:14:03,174 --> 01:14:06,516
we will see what what stories you have to tell.
:
01:14:06,616 --> 01:14:09,759
We will find you a good resting place in the locker.
:
01:14:09,759 --> 01:14:11,851
And he's like tying the rope around him.
:
01:14:11,851 --> 01:14:18,325
Uh like around the the chest respectfully, not like the tail.
:
01:14:18,366 --> 01:14:20,667
Yeah, yeah, don't touch the tail.
:
01:14:21,144 --> 01:14:21,584
Mm-hmm.
:
01:14:21,584 --> 01:14:23,345
You pull him aboard.
:
01:14:23,626 --> 01:14:24,766
Yeah.
:
01:14:25,887 --> 01:14:37,375
You pull him aboard and he is covered in a strange writing carved into his front and back.
:
01:14:37,495 --> 01:14:47,742
And the captain says, And he pulls out the map and he points to part of that he sees some
of the lettering matches up.
:
01:14:47,963 --> 01:14:48,663
Mm.
:
01:14:48,663 --> 01:14:50,464
This can some
:
01:14:50,584 --> 01:14:52,345
Somebody needs to get Quintus.
:
01:14:52,345 --> 01:14:53,366
I got him.
:
01:14:53,366 --> 01:14:57,169
You hear uh rabble rousing below the decks.
:
01:14:58,010 --> 01:14:59,291
That was a perfect door slam.
:
01:14:59,291 --> 01:15:00,852
What leave that hog alone?
:
01:15:00,852 --> 01:15:02,563
He's been through enough, all right.
:
01:15:02,563 --> 01:15:03,194
Yeah.
:
01:15:03,194 --> 01:15:04,655
How would you rouse?
:
01:15:04,655 --> 01:15:06,816
Quintus, they're here for your speech.
:
01:15:06,816 --> 01:15:08,718
They're here for your speech, man.
:
01:15:08,718 --> 01:15:09,118
Okay.
:
01:15:09,118 --> 01:15:10,469
We're all waiting for you.
:
01:15:10,469 --> 01:15:12,300
The whole audience is there.
:
01:15:12,300 --> 01:15:14,722
Yeah, that'll that'll do a good presence roll.
:
01:15:14,722 --> 01:15:15,682
Okay.
:
01:15:15,733 --> 01:15:16,724
Nat twenty.
:
01:15:16,724 --> 01:15:17,552
Yeah.
:
01:15:17,552 --> 01:15:20,514
comes to like a adrenaline shot to the heart.
:
01:15:20,514 --> 01:15:22,696
King George is there, man.
:
01:15:22,696 --> 01:15:23,597
The king!
:
01:15:23,597 --> 01:15:24,117
The king!
:
01:15:24,117 --> 01:15:28,340
I've always wanted Where where am I?
:
01:15:29,041 --> 01:15:29,922
fuck, I'm here.
:
01:15:29,922 --> 01:15:33,032
I thought it was a goddamn nightmare.
:
01:15:33,032 --> 01:15:35,005
It is a fucking nightmare.
:
01:15:35,026 --> 01:15:37,968
I need what?
:
01:15:37,980 --> 01:15:38,510
My speech?
:
01:15:38,510 --> 01:15:39,881
What are you talking about, man?
:
01:15:39,881 --> 01:15:40,513
I don't give speech.
:
01:15:40,513 --> 01:15:45,657
You were gonna tell us all about the city, but we're here now and but you it's not too
late.
:
01:15:45,657 --> 01:15:50,971
We haven't docked yet, so you can still give your speech about how moved you were.
:
01:15:51,512 --> 01:15:52,663
You're my best man.
:
01:15:52,663 --> 01:15:54,040
I'm counting on you.
:
01:15:54,040 --> 01:15:56,076
I was your that was real.
:
01:15:56,076 --> 01:15:57,087
God Yeah.
:
01:15:57,087 --> 01:15:57,738
Okay.
:
01:15:57,738 --> 01:15:58,358
Okay.
:
01:15:58,358 --> 01:15:58,969
What is it?
:
01:15:58,969 --> 01:15:59,840
What is it?
:
01:15:59,840 --> 01:16:00,494
And
:
01:16:00,494 --> 01:16:03,146
He sees the merman just laying there.
:
01:16:03,146 --> 01:16:04,067
Merman.
:
01:16:04,067 --> 01:16:05,538
I'm sorry I couldn't help in.
:
01:16:05,538 --> 01:16:06,904
That's all I've heard.
:
01:16:06,904 --> 01:16:08,230
The Merman.
:
01:16:08,230 --> 01:16:10,692
And dear God.
:
01:16:11,153 --> 01:16:20,680
And he starts to pour over the writing on him and is making he pulled out his his
:
01:16:20,716 --> 01:16:24,318
Oxford bound notebook and is writing things down.
:
01:16:24,318 --> 01:16:25,239
So oh.
:
01:16:25,239 --> 01:16:30,942
This is some sort of dark psalm or fell psalm carved into his skin.
:
01:16:30,942 --> 01:16:33,163
oh That's terrible!
:
01:16:33,163 --> 01:16:34,184
Or good?
:
01:16:34,184 --> 01:16:36,465
Depends on how good of a song is, I think.
:
01:16:36,465 --> 01:16:37,805
Is it wonderable?
:
01:16:37,986 --> 01:16:39,286
Heheh Yes.
:
01:16:39,286 --> 01:16:47,691
Um here, it translates a great city shall fill the air as the sacrifices sing their final
song.
:
01:16:47,691 --> 01:16:49,172
The city rings
:
01:16:49,338 --> 01:16:54,771
With their final lament, deafening all until a new verse is uttered.
:
01:16:54,771 --> 01:17:05,217
Beasts of the waves shall throw themselves upon the city, where their blood shall slick
the streets, and make it unwalkable.
:
01:17:05,217 --> 01:17:18,824
The city shall shudder and crack, from the cracks shall pour forth the maldorous smoke of
pestilence, the great doors of the city shall open, and from them come multitudes.
:
01:17:18,934 --> 01:17:21,066
Oh, that was a horrible song.
:
01:17:21,066 --> 01:17:21,916
None of it rhymed.
:
01:17:21,916 --> 01:17:24,108
Uh in indeed, rat.
:
01:17:24,108 --> 01:17:25,869
Um It's a shame.
:
01:17:25,870 --> 01:17:28,351
Not even an Iambic pentameter.
:
01:17:29,072 --> 01:17:29,953
let's see.
:
01:17:29,953 --> 01:17:37,599
Uh I think I think it's into some sort of I I don't know what to make of it.
:
01:17:38,680 --> 01:17:41,482
the smart one is speechless.
:
01:17:42,143 --> 01:17:43,984
Oxford my ass!
:
01:17:45,666 --> 01:17:47,346
Oxford his ass.
:
01:17:49,672 --> 01:17:56,918
Well gent ladies and gentlemen, um I I think we should tread carefully.
:
01:17:56,918 --> 01:18:01,461
Do you've seen the map and uh wha how shall we make our approach?
:
01:18:01,481 --> 01:18:07,765
So I've uh out of character, I've been looking at this map, and there are some pretty
notable locations.
:
01:18:07,765 --> 01:18:17,132
Uh including at the far left, a gate with what could possibly be tombstones behind it.
:
01:18:17,536 --> 01:18:23,880
and if we're worried about the gates opening and multitudes coming forth, I'd say that's a
good place not to be.
:
01:18:23,880 --> 01:18:25,671
There's there's an arena too.
:
01:18:25,671 --> 01:18:35,526
There is a Colosseum, there's a stepped pyramid, there's uh a sort of courtyard with a uh
a gazing pool and an Isthmus.
:
01:18:35,526 --> 01:18:42,590
There's a pit with a staircase up to it, and then like colonnades and whatnot.
:
01:18:42,590 --> 01:18:47,310
Um there's also like a a Keebla on the far right.
:
01:18:47,310 --> 01:18:47,981
A what?
:
01:18:47,981 --> 01:18:51,804
What's that what it what do you call the um the big cube?
:
01:18:51,804 --> 01:18:53,145
A cube?
:
01:18:53,145 --> 01:18:58,870
No, the uh you you you like the big cube stone at Mecca.
:
01:18:58,870 --> 01:18:59,971
What's the thing called?
:
01:18:59,971 --> 01:19:01,532
You go around it.
:
01:19:01,532 --> 01:19:02,993
Madison Square Garden.
:
01:19:02,993 --> 01:19:09,679
No, if if you're Muslim, you there's the it's the direction you pray towards Mecca.
:
01:19:09,679 --> 01:19:12,181
It's like a huge stone.
:
01:19:12,181 --> 01:19:14,122
K A A B A?
:
01:19:14,122 --> 01:19:16,084
No, Q I B L A.
:
01:19:16,084 --> 01:19:16,844
Yeah.
:
01:19:16,920 --> 01:19:21,604
Yeah, there it Nick, can you play the more you know sound effect at this moment here?
:
01:19:21,604 --> 01:19:23,335
Because I just learned something today.
:
01:19:23,335 --> 01:19:27,108
I'm in the region of curiosity.
:
01:19:27,108 --> 01:19:35,655
I will send a big neck for to go and perceive anything that is perceivable from a big
neck.
:
01:19:35,916 --> 01:19:38,238
From within one's old neck.
:
01:19:38,238 --> 01:19:40,540
How will it tell you what it finds?
:
01:19:40,540 --> 01:19:42,321
Okay.
:
01:19:42,321 --> 01:19:43,062
The skull.
:
01:19:43,062 --> 01:19:43,923
The skull.
:
01:19:43,923 --> 01:19:45,784
Yeah, mechanically.
:
01:19:45,882 --> 01:19:47,012
Not a lot.
:
01:19:47,272 --> 01:19:47,873
Okay.
:
01:19:47,873 --> 01:19:49,133
uh Thank you.
:
01:19:49,133 --> 01:19:58,356
Well there could be a furious flapping if perhaps there is an energy that one would want
to be aware of, but uh I am not annoyed.
:
01:19:58,356 --> 01:20:05,087
You've been teaching Big Neck how to communicate via semaphore flags with a swing.
:
01:20:05,087 --> 01:20:11,512
But it still does not help the whole lack of perceptive ability part of scouting.
:
01:20:11,512 --> 01:20:13,280
Looks pretty British to me.
:
01:20:13,280 --> 01:20:14,064
And Olive.
:
01:20:14,064 --> 01:20:21,210
Branch is shoved in the Trachea I am not sure this is so peaceful as you would imagine.
:
01:20:21,210 --> 01:20:33,200
Well I if I could offer a suggestion uh kind of near the western side there's like a a
spot where the land goes up.
:
01:20:33,200 --> 01:20:35,983
There's like a an underwater shelf.
:
01:20:35,983 --> 01:20:38,244
Did you say the western side?
:
01:20:38,244 --> 01:20:39,716
Yes, the western side.
:
01:20:39,716 --> 01:20:41,287
It's that way.
:
01:20:41,287 --> 01:20:42,948
And he points to the west.
:
01:20:44,248 --> 01:20:54,936
And there there is if you look underwater, there's like a little yes like a little step up
thing and then we can't And there's something out there in the water too.
:
01:20:54,936 --> 01:20:55,596
Yes.
:
01:20:55,596 --> 01:20:59,339
The tides perhaps are we at high tide?
:
01:20:59,339 --> 01:21:00,619
I should probably know this.
:
01:21:00,619 --> 01:21:02,010
Oh, I see.
:
01:21:02,010 --> 01:21:05,643
It looks kind of like the the stairways in Moria over there.
:
01:21:05,643 --> 01:21:06,823
Got it.
:
01:21:06,924 --> 01:21:13,144
I was gonna say to dock more in one of these other places towards the eastern side that
looked like it could be a dock.
:
01:21:13,144 --> 01:21:15,316
And need the conspicuously looming statues.
:
01:21:15,316 --> 01:21:21,269
But I do like the stairs, because that would be a way out, even if the tide drops.
:
01:21:22,231 --> 01:21:23,451
Look to the captain.
:
01:21:23,451 --> 01:21:24,512
I know the way.
:
01:21:24,512 --> 01:21:31,537
oh Well we've got four dingies, and I say we split up.
:
01:21:31,537 --> 01:21:33,078
Split the What say you?
:
01:21:33,078 --> 01:21:40,903
Hurrah W we'll take the front gate, right up the center, past this um strange statue.
:
01:21:41,380 --> 01:21:43,831
You can go to the west or the western side.
:
01:21:43,831 --> 01:21:45,080
Mm-hmm.
:
01:21:45,080 --> 01:21:48,083
Are they gonna drive the boat through the big gate?
:
01:21:48,083 --> 01:21:49,442
What's the game plan there?
:
01:21:49,442 --> 01:21:50,984
How's that gate work?
:
01:21:50,984 --> 01:21:54,032
um, I I don't I don't rightly know.
:
01:21:54,032 --> 01:21:57,247
I uh we don't know how anything works in this city.
:
01:21:57,247 --> 01:22:06,370
What if what if instead they dock at the dock right next to the bottomless pit with the
staircase to it?
:
01:22:06,370 --> 01:22:07,055
See what I'm talking about?
:
01:22:07,055 --> 01:22:07,605
Right in the middle?
:
01:22:07,605 --> 01:22:08,731
There's that little
:
01:22:10,604 --> 01:22:11,885
That's cool over there.
:
01:22:11,885 --> 01:22:18,308
Um, from the I don't sure not sure about the scale of the map, but I we could probably
dock there.
:
01:22:18,308 --> 01:22:22,200
But we should leave Poseidon's rage out here and take the dinghies.
:
01:22:22,200 --> 01:22:23,891
I worry about her.
:
01:22:23,891 --> 01:22:25,384
that's a really good idea.
:
01:22:25,384 --> 01:22:27,413
I had not thought to do that.
:
01:22:27,413 --> 01:22:29,834
I was just about to suggest that I'm sure.
:
01:22:29,894 --> 01:22:32,776
And that's why you know the captain.
:
01:22:32,776 --> 01:22:34,697
I'm a step behind.
:
01:22:34,697 --> 01:22:36,098
That among other things.
:
01:22:36,098 --> 01:22:37,598
I'm sure.
:
01:22:39,064 --> 01:22:40,164
Well
:
01:22:40,678 --> 01:22:41,868
To the dinghy.
:
01:22:42,808 --> 01:22:44,260
You can take the wheast and dinghy.
:
01:22:44,260 --> 01:22:46,731
We'll take the east and dinghy.
:
01:22:46,731 --> 01:22:49,892
And well Yeah.
:
01:22:49,892 --> 01:22:55,955
You guys get in the dinghy, have your gear with you, and it cuts through the perimeter.
:
01:22:55,955 --> 01:22:59,537
And you see the blasphemous geometry of this place.
:
01:22:59,537 --> 01:23:01,658
It hits you like a physical weight.
:
01:23:01,658 --> 01:23:07,015
The tower way in the back and it just
:
01:23:07,015 --> 01:23:10,127
It's like the Tower of Sauron or what is this the other tower?
:
01:23:10,127 --> 01:23:11,888
Yeah, the Tower of Sauron.
:
01:23:11,888 --> 01:23:12,788
Yeah, yeah.
:
01:23:12,788 --> 01:23:13,289
Yeah.
:
01:23:13,289 --> 01:23:19,382
Um, it looms over this thing and it begs your attention.
:
01:23:19,382 --> 01:23:21,714
It's hard to look away from it.
:
01:23:21,714 --> 01:23:26,166
And the smoke rises from all around it.
:
01:23:26,166 --> 01:23:28,768
It's not just coming out of the tower somewhere.
:
01:23:28,768 --> 01:23:33,338
It's like this entire structure has something burning in it.
:
01:23:33,338 --> 01:23:44,397
And the s clouds mix with that smoke and you see that it is swirling just a slight bit
right above the tower up in the sky.
:
01:23:44,637 --> 01:23:51,703
And as you get closer to the shore, you see there it's not clean.
:
01:23:51,703 --> 01:23:58,068
Like there is a black viscous like spots all over the place.
:
01:23:58,068 --> 01:24:02,852
Almost like there's ink that was just sprinkled down.
:
01:24:02,904 --> 01:24:03,814
Um here and there.
:
01:24:03,814 --> 01:24:09,089
It's not ever present, but it it's there enough to be of note.
:
01:24:09,089 --> 01:24:11,671
And you row up to what?
:
01:24:11,671 --> 01:24:16,035
Just this stair the end of the staircase between the two obelisks.
:
01:24:16,035 --> 01:24:20,278
Well, what's the thing out in the water at the end of where the pier used to be?
:
01:24:20,278 --> 01:24:20,608
Yeah.
:
01:24:20,608 --> 01:24:21,219
Yeah.
:
01:24:21,219 --> 01:24:21,899
Yeah.
:
01:24:21,899 --> 01:24:25,903
You pass that and you look in the water.
:
01:24:25,903 --> 01:24:32,956
It is hard to tell, but you see a platform with some sort of altar.
:
01:24:32,956 --> 01:24:39,830
There and below it is another staircase and a row of obelisks that are smaller that lead
up to it.
:
01:24:39,830 --> 01:24:44,843
Uh looks like some sort of religious place or sacred place.
:
01:24:44,843 --> 01:24:47,144
This is where you sacrifice someone to the sea.
:
01:24:47,144 --> 01:24:49,845
Yeah, do you wanna check it out?
:
01:24:51,286 --> 01:24:52,527
Give it a look.
:
01:24:52,727 --> 01:24:54,148
Sacrifice the pig on it.
:
01:24:54,148 --> 01:24:56,960
You you didn't bring the pig on your teeny lesson.
:
01:24:56,960 --> 01:25:01,244
What about what about just throwing that little pinky down there?
:
01:25:01,244 --> 01:25:03,425
Maybe that's scared enough.
:
01:25:03,925 --> 01:25:04,626
Yeah.
:
01:25:04,626 --> 01:25:05,124
Yeah.
:
01:25:05,124 --> 01:25:08,087
I think maybe we shouldn't activate random altars.
:
01:25:08,087 --> 01:25:08,967
What?
:
01:25:08,967 --> 01:25:12,759
What's a fucking coward over here?
:
01:25:12,759 --> 01:25:16,060
Have you not no one calls Isabel a coward.
:
01:25:16,060 --> 01:25:19,672
You have a big Oh, okay.
:
01:25:19,672 --> 01:25:20,722
Now she's getting it.
:
01:25:20,722 --> 01:25:22,053
Okay.
:
01:25:22,053 --> 01:25:25,915
Can you open your book up and roll from the magical mishaps?
:
01:25:25,915 --> 01:25:26,975
Wow, that was fast.
:
01:25:26,975 --> 01:25:27,375
Alright.
:
01:25:27,375 --> 01:25:29,536
uh
:
01:25:29,780 --> 01:25:31,761
what page is that motherfucker on?
:
01:25:31,761 --> 01:25:33,781
Was it sixty-six?
:
01:25:34,021 --> 01:25:35,562
I bet it was.
:
01:25:35,562 --> 01:25:37,022
Hell sure was.
:
01:25:37,022 --> 01:25:38,442
Sixty-six.
:
01:25:38,443 --> 01:25:41,423
Hey, uh it's a D twenty.
:
01:25:41,503 --> 01:25:49,346
I got a an eighteen, whereupon hundreds of tiny crabs swarm me.
:
01:25:49,346 --> 01:25:53,487
They are harmless and provide an extra D two damage reduction.
:
01:25:53,487 --> 01:25:55,507
It does not count as armor.
:
01:25:55,507 --> 01:25:55,857
Wow.
:
01:25:55,857 --> 01:25:56,908
Horrendous.
:
01:25:58,396 --> 01:25:59,737
With crabs.
:
01:25:59,737 --> 01:26:00,167
Yeah.
:
01:26:00,167 --> 01:26:01,338
I have gotten crabs.
:
01:26:01,338 --> 01:26:02,719
Not the first time.
:
01:26:02,719 --> 01:26:05,281
I'm just ke eating a couple.
:
01:26:05,281 --> 01:26:06,843
Not not too many.
:
01:26:06,843 --> 01:26:12,016
Yeah, they f cover your dinghy and crawl all over you, Isabel.
:
01:26:12,016 --> 01:26:19,753
Your skin is an ever present, creepy creeping feeling of just a s shifting organism.
:
01:26:19,753 --> 01:26:20,924
You might get used to it.
:
01:26:20,924 --> 01:26:23,395
Can you roll a D6 to see how long that lasts for?
:
01:26:23,395 --> 01:26:24,584
Days wise.
:
01:26:24,584 --> 01:26:25,334
Okay, two days.
:
01:26:25,334 --> 01:26:25,534
Days?
:
01:26:25,534 --> 01:26:26,815
That says days?
:
01:26:26,815 --> 01:26:27,255
Days.
:
01:26:27,255 --> 01:26:29,086
Two days.
:
01:26:29,106 --> 01:26:31,127
You're fucking welcome, yeah.
:
01:26:32,528 --> 01:26:34,528
That is like hugely beneficial.
:
01:26:34,528 --> 01:26:36,949
I have one point of armor and it's my hat.
:
01:26:36,949 --> 01:26:40,081
This place is obviously magic, right?
:
01:26:40,081 --> 01:26:41,721
Like that's what hits you first.
:
01:26:41,721 --> 01:26:50,955
It's like this is an alien landscape and I gave something to this altar and now I'm
covered in crabs.
:
01:26:51,616 --> 01:26:52,476
This
:
01:26:52,742 --> 01:26:56,073
Maybe we should find something bigger to sacrifice.
:
01:26:56,073 --> 01:26:58,853
Should we go back for of I think we can all get crabs.
:
01:27:00,174 --> 01:27:03,615
How do you think the captain would feel about the hog going missing?
:
01:27:03,615 --> 01:27:04,335
Hmm.
:
01:27:04,335 --> 01:27:05,976
I did steal something from it.
:
01:27:05,976 --> 01:27:08,056
Perhaps it was his tail.
:
01:27:08,056 --> 01:27:08,895
Ew.
:
01:27:08,895 --> 01:27:10,117
It's pinky.
:
01:27:10,117 --> 01:27:10,837
Yeah.
:
01:27:10,837 --> 01:27:12,937
You gonna toss the tail on there too?
:
01:27:12,937 --> 01:27:13,728
Someone else can.
:
01:27:13,728 --> 01:27:16,398
Ooh Okay.
:
01:27:16,398 --> 01:27:20,839
Uh yeah, give me a roll on the magical mishaps and hope you don't die.
:
01:27:20,852 --> 01:27:22,920
I hate that pig.
:
01:27:22,936 --> 01:27:23,996
Seven.
:
01:27:24,397 --> 01:27:25,418
What?
:
01:27:26,279 --> 01:27:31,524
yeah, gravity behaves as if everything within thirty feet is underwater for d eight
minutes.
:
01:27:31,524 --> 01:27:36,348
Just the dinghy maybe is still moving and he just realizes like What?
:
01:27:36,348 --> 01:27:37,828
Where are you going?
:
01:27:39,530 --> 01:27:46,576
Yeah, you in fact the dinghy has floated on without you and you were floating in the air.
:
01:27:46,576 --> 01:27:48,058
Fucking pick.
:
01:27:48,058 --> 01:27:49,079
Seven minutes.
:
01:27:49,079 --> 01:27:50,480
Seven minutes of this.
:
01:27:50,480 --> 01:27:51,224
Yeah.
:
01:27:51,224 --> 01:27:57,409
Honestly, if it was gonna happen to anyone, the Merman is better best option.
:
01:27:57,930 --> 01:27:59,851
Yeah, it's we rope him to the demons.
:
01:27:59,851 --> 01:28:01,463
Swimming in okay.
:
01:28:01,463 --> 01:28:02,704
Yeah, you drag him along.
:
01:28:02,704 --> 01:28:05,415
So and like a balloon.
:
01:28:06,357 --> 01:28:08,484
Are you going over to the obelisks?
:
01:28:08,484 --> 01:28:10,460
I did want to see the yeah.
:
01:28:10,460 --> 01:28:14,243
Are you going towards the two little ones or the biggin?
:
01:28:14,243 --> 01:28:17,005
Is pretty appealing.
:
01:28:17,286 --> 01:28:18,797
The one with the three pieces?
:
01:28:18,797 --> 01:28:20,486
Mm-hmm.
:
01:28:20,486 --> 01:28:22,977
Yeah, you go out to that obelisk.
:
01:28:22,977 --> 01:28:25,157
Well, this is a democracy, because we're pirates.
:
01:28:25,157 --> 01:28:28,058
So do we want to go out to the big uh big obelisk?
:
01:28:28,058 --> 01:28:28,958
Seems cool.
:
01:28:28,958 --> 01:28:30,999
Do we think there's treasure there?
:
01:28:30,999 --> 01:28:33,149
I don't think there's treasure anywhere around here.
:
01:28:33,149 --> 01:28:34,260
Hmm.
:
01:28:34,260 --> 01:28:34,800
I don't know.
:
01:28:34,800 --> 01:28:38,811
That looming pit of death seems like a good place to hide your treasure.
:
01:28:38,811 --> 01:28:40,181
you're right, I forgot.
:
01:28:40,181 --> 01:28:46,543
It it you just wove wonderful magic that give you s gave you affinity with crafts.
:
01:28:46,543 --> 01:28:48,584
This is a blessed land.
:
01:28:48,584 --> 01:28:49,844
I'm carcinizing.
:
01:28:50,692 --> 01:28:54,354
Let the rest of the crew find the treasure in the hole.
:
01:28:54,354 --> 01:28:56,815
We are going to the tower.
:
01:28:56,815 --> 01:28:58,715
Fuck yeah.
:
01:28:58,715 --> 01:29:01,016
Yeah, so you go to the obelisk.
:
01:29:01,016 --> 01:29:01,917
Yeah.
:
01:29:01,917 --> 01:29:02,697
Okay.
:
01:29:02,697 --> 01:29:09,950
You get there, and you're looking around and it is it is a strange material.
:
01:29:09,950 --> 01:29:18,904
This is the you were by the altar, but seeing it this big, it is noteworthily pulsating.
:
01:29:18,904 --> 01:29:20,004
Like with
:
01:29:20,060 --> 01:29:20,921
Cold.
:
01:29:20,921 --> 01:29:31,626
It's like a it's just yeah, it's like your freezers didn't exist, but your hand, it's like
touching a cold filament or something.
:
01:29:31,887 --> 01:29:34,248
Is it stone or metal?
:
01:29:34,248 --> 01:29:35,408
Yeah.
:
01:29:35,408 --> 01:29:38,990
Give me a presence.
:
01:29:39,180 --> 01:29:39,891
16.
:
01:29:39,891 --> 01:29:43,253
Yeah, it feels somewhere in between, right?
:
01:29:43,253 --> 01:29:49,414
You've seen bronzed copper or copper that has oxidized, I believe it is, and it
:
01:29:49,414 --> 01:29:54,548
Gives you that feeling, but it it just has a texture of stone though.
:
01:29:54,548 --> 01:29:56,530
Stone that oxidized.
:
01:29:56,530 --> 01:29:59,062
That's interesting.
:
01:29:59,062 --> 01:30:00,884
I've we've can somebody roll me a d6.
:
01:30:00,884 --> 01:30:01,984
Alright.
:
01:30:02,065 --> 01:30:02,775
five.
:
01:30:02,775 --> 01:30:03,716
Great.
:
01:30:03,716 --> 01:30:04,067
Yeah.
:
01:30:04,067 --> 01:30:05,017
Damage.
:
01:30:05,558 --> 01:30:06,198
Yeah.
:
01:30:06,198 --> 01:30:06,609
Yeah.
:
01:30:06,609 --> 01:30:08,620
A lightning bolt comes out of the obelisk.
:
01:30:08,620 --> 01:30:09,904
No, she can't.
:
01:30:10,662 --> 01:30:13,024
Do not observe the obelisk.
:
01:30:13,745 --> 01:30:16,087
You're standing there by this obelisk.
:
01:30:16,087 --> 01:30:17,756
And out of
:
01:30:17,756 --> 01:30:28,519
The water, almost out of the pitch black depths of it, there is an ink-stained tide that
slops onto the stone next to you.
:
01:30:28,539 --> 01:30:33,900
And the specter of evolutionary malice flops out.
:
01:30:33,900 --> 01:30:47,546
And it is this thing that it looks like a jellyfish, but inside of it is a skeletal ghost
that has no sensible limbs.
:
01:30:47,546 --> 01:30:51,258
It's just all limbs and strange bone.
:
01:30:51,258 --> 01:30:54,420
Doesn't make any sense to your human eyes.
:
01:30:54,420 --> 01:31:00,654
It almost looks like a like pale blue ectoplasm or something inside of a uh this ghost.
:
01:31:00,654 --> 01:31:04,526
In fact, you might even mistake it as a ghost if it were swimming next to you.
:
01:31:04,526 --> 01:31:13,211
And the luminescence of it really matches the f smoke that's coming from that massive,
massive temple.
:
01:31:13,211 --> 01:31:14,896
And it
:
01:31:15,122 --> 01:31:16,652
Looks dangerous.
:
01:31:16,652 --> 01:31:18,693
uh Mm-hmm.
:
01:31:18,693 --> 01:31:22,474
But the sky it's not a people skeleton, it's like a jellyfish skeleton.
:
01:31:22,774 --> 01:31:23,674
Yeah, yeah.
:
01:31:23,674 --> 01:31:26,335
It's like head is bulbous and gelatinous, right?
:
01:31:26,335 --> 01:31:36,278
And the inside of it has like a just yeah, it's like bones that shift with it.
:
01:31:36,278 --> 01:31:38,819
There's nothing connecting them.
:
01:31:38,859 --> 01:31:40,379
A skelly fish.
:
01:31:40,860 --> 01:31:42,060
damn.
:
01:31:42,948 --> 01:31:49,153
I if it's unde is it undead because my machete g starts glowing if it's undead.
:
01:31:49,574 --> 01:31:52,506
I don't know that that helps us, but I would I guess no.
:
01:31:52,506 --> 01:31:56,419
Yeah, it's it is not undead.
:
01:31:57,080 --> 01:31:59,102
It is very much alive.
:
01:31:59,102 --> 01:32:00,743
And always we can kill it.
:
01:32:00,743 --> 01:32:02,708
We can kill it and it'll bleed.
:
01:32:02,708 --> 01:32:04,487
I feel like I have that backwards.
:
01:32:04,487 --> 01:32:08,290
Uh you guys are first.
:
01:32:08,290 --> 01:32:10,832
And yeah,
:
01:32:11,858 --> 01:32:14,730
Shoot first, shoot some more, then ask some questions, maybe.
:
01:32:14,730 --> 01:32:16,991
Yeah, give it a give it a sh roll.
:
01:32:16,991 --> 01:32:18,312
Seventeen.
:
01:32:18,312 --> 01:32:19,588
That's gonna do it.
:
01:32:19,588 --> 01:32:21,673
For eight damage.
:
01:32:21,693 --> 01:32:22,734
Eight damage.
:
01:32:22,734 --> 01:32:24,215
From the old leg.
:
01:32:24,215 --> 01:32:24,915
Oof.
:
01:32:24,915 --> 01:32:30,418
Yeah, you maybe you just spin around and it's like a gut reaction.
:
01:32:30,578 --> 01:32:41,326
Although I am gonna ask for homework because in chat you said that if I can get a peg leg
blunderbuss or a peg a peg leg musket, then I need to make an agility test.
:
01:32:41,326 --> 01:32:43,297
Yeah.
:
01:32:43,297 --> 01:32:44,078
Roll it.
:
01:32:44,078 --> 01:32:44,718
Hell yeah.
:
01:32:44,718 --> 01:32:45,878
Oh, fifteen.
:
01:32:45,878 --> 01:32:46,259
Yeah.
:
01:32:46,259 --> 01:32:48,500
I do spin around gracefully.
:
01:32:49,140 --> 01:32:49,801
Yeah.
:
01:32:49,801 --> 01:32:52,622
And it goes through this.
:
01:32:52,682 --> 01:32:53,413
Exactly.
:
01:32:53,413 --> 01:33:05,099
It goes through the jellyfish portion of it and you see it connect with something inside
and it sends ripples through this thing's flesh as it starts to vibrate and you have hit
:
01:33:05,099 --> 01:33:05,429
it.
:
01:33:05,429 --> 01:33:06,600
And you said what was the damage?
:
01:33:06,600 --> 01:33:07,210
Eight.
:
01:33:07,210 --> 01:33:07,480
Eight.
:
01:33:07,480 --> 01:33:08,271
Okay.
:
01:33:08,271 --> 01:33:08,691
Great.
:
01:33:08,691 --> 01:33:11,032
Oh, usually that kills it.
:
01:33:12,345 --> 01:33:13,165
it's still coming.
:
01:33:13,165 --> 01:33:14,365
Who's next?
:
01:33:14,885 --> 01:33:22,647
Babide sends big neck uh raking through it with its talents.
:
01:33:23,008 --> 01:33:24,828
What do I need to roll to hit?
:
01:33:24,828 --> 01:33:26,889
The fearsome talents of a seagull.
:
01:33:26,889 --> 01:33:28,839
The talents of a seagull.
:
01:33:28,839 --> 01:33:31,170
Yeah, agility for that one.
:
01:33:31,170 --> 01:33:39,212
Okay, well I am having to commit that's but I'm thinking I'm thinking perhaps in number
one is not doing.
:
01:33:39,872 --> 01:33:41,032
Regardless of what you roll.
:
01:33:41,032 --> 01:33:57,957
It just flies into the It's like the thing, like it flies to it and you see these small
tendrils come out and just stick into it and just crack it into multiple like pieces and
:
01:33:57,957 --> 01:34:07,314
split it apart and then suck it in and you see it floating inside of the That is not a
very good I would not recommend.
:
01:34:07,355 --> 01:34:09,176
That was my dinner.
:
01:34:10,045 --> 01:34:18,891
From inside the jellyfish, the skelly fish, you hear It's not it it hasn't stopped being
undead.
:
01:34:18,891 --> 01:34:21,022
Um It's true.
:
01:34:21,022 --> 01:34:21,913
Yeah.
:
01:34:21,913 --> 01:34:28,998
Yeah, Isabel was considering uh saving ammo if everyone else uh you know had a handle on
this, but fuck that.
:
01:34:28,998 --> 01:34:30,539
Uh bam, bam, bam.
:
01:34:30,539 --> 01:34:31,360
Three?
:
01:34:31,360 --> 01:34:32,541
Off the bat, all right.
:
01:34:32,541 --> 01:34:33,471
Yeah, fuck that thing.
:
01:34:33,471 --> 01:34:34,322
That thing's weird.
:
01:34:34,322 --> 01:34:35,883
I don't like it.
:
01:34:35,883 --> 01:34:37,764
nineteen plus one is twenty.
:
01:34:38,052 --> 01:34:39,853
nineteen plus one is twenty.
:
01:34:39,853 --> 01:34:40,302
Whoa.
:
01:34:40,302 --> 01:34:42,193
Uh eleven plus one is twelve.
:
01:34:42,193 --> 01:34:42,674
Okay.
:
01:34:42,674 --> 01:34:46,595
Nice so you hit with all three, roll up some damage.
:
01:34:46,595 --> 01:34:47,525
Just Yeah.
:
01:34:47,525 --> 01:34:48,575
Damn.
:
01:34:48,575 --> 01:34:50,756
Tell you the total or tell you what each of are?
:
01:34:50,756 --> 01:34:54,577
What each each of are 'cause I'm modifying what you're Armor.
:
01:34:54,577 --> 01:34:56,328
Uh the first one is a four.
:
01:34:56,328 --> 01:34:57,568
Okay.
:
01:34:57,568 --> 01:34:59,289
Second one is a four.
:
01:34:59,289 --> 01:35:00,292
Okay.
:
01:35:00,292 --> 01:35:02,900
Consist of the third one is seven.
:
01:35:03,664 --> 01:35:09,920
The first tube, pop, pop, you see the shot go into it, but it stops before it hits that
core, right?
:
01:35:09,920 --> 01:35:11,931
So it doesn't quite get to it.
:
01:35:11,931 --> 01:35:16,746
But the the seven one goes in and you see that rippling happen and it looks upset.
:
01:35:16,746 --> 01:35:22,640
It's like and it starts to make this pitch sound that hurts your ears.
:
01:35:23,221 --> 01:35:25,984
no, that is that just big neck.
:
01:35:26,665 --> 01:35:28,084
It is b yeah.
:
01:35:28,084 --> 01:35:29,585
It's becoming big neck.
:
01:35:29,585 --> 01:35:30,464
It's like
:
01:35:31,312 --> 01:35:36,476
I do want to say Isabella's gonna like start kind of kinda running a little bit.
:
01:35:36,476 --> 01:35:40,138
Maybe put the obelisk between it her and it.
:
01:35:40,212 --> 01:35:41,879
She didn't like that.
:
01:35:42,680 --> 01:35:44,081
Shut your mouth.
:
01:35:44,081 --> 01:35:52,707
And Scrags just lunges forward towards that like all the gunshot holes and just tries to
stick the machete right in there.
:
01:35:52,707 --> 01:35:53,077
Do it.
:
01:35:53,077 --> 01:35:56,129
Uh and I'm sure this will go well for him.
:
01:35:56,129 --> 01:36:00,672
Apparently a eighteen on the attendee well and a
:
01:36:00,732 --> 01:36:02,413
Beautiful D6.
:
01:36:02,743 --> 01:36:03,494
not that well.
:
01:36:03,494 --> 01:36:05,195
One damage.
:
01:36:05,195 --> 01:36:05,816
Yeah.
:
01:36:05,816 --> 01:36:07,777
But it's magic.
:
01:36:07,777 --> 01:36:09,238
You got a magic machete.
:
01:36:09,238 --> 01:36:09,718
It's true.
:
01:36:09,718 --> 01:36:11,219
It's a plus one.
:
01:36:11,219 --> 01:36:12,280
It's not.
:
01:36:13,001 --> 01:36:13,941
Yeah.
:
01:36:13,941 --> 01:36:15,302
Doesn't ignore armor.
:
01:36:15,302 --> 01:36:17,243
Is it in the ghost touch rune?
:
01:36:17,314 --> 01:36:19,335
wrong ghost rude.
:
01:36:19,335 --> 01:36:20,046
god.
:
01:36:20,046 --> 01:36:20,946
No.
:
01:36:21,086 --> 01:36:21,557
Alright.
:
01:36:21,557 --> 01:36:23,568
This is better for vines.
:
01:36:24,489 --> 01:36:26,690
It is its turn.
:
01:36:26,811 --> 01:36:29,136
And Isabel has
:
01:36:29,136 --> 01:36:31,738
Fucked off and hid behind an obelisk.
:
01:36:31,738 --> 01:36:34,379
And it's You guys can do it.
:
01:36:34,719 --> 01:36:49,167
You see two rubbery translucent tendril things come out and start dripping black, almost
like squid ink, and they s wipe straight towards you, salty.
:
01:36:49,727 --> 01:36:51,328
Roll your agility.
:
01:36:51,328 --> 01:36:52,519
I'm very agile.
:
01:36:52,519 --> 01:36:53,429
Nope.
:
01:36:53,509 --> 01:36:57,972
And I believe uh twelve is the target, right?
:
01:36:57,972 --> 01:36:58,712
Yep.
:
01:36:58,880 --> 01:36:59,360
no.
:
01:36:59,360 --> 01:36:59,700
Yeah.
:
01:36:59,700 --> 01:37:01,962
A negative one agility is not so good.
:
01:37:01,962 --> 01:37:02,391
Okay.
:
01:37:02,391 --> 01:37:04,613
Do you have armor or I do have armor.
:
01:37:04,613 --> 01:37:06,313
I have a D two of armor.
:
01:37:06,313 --> 01:37:07,724
you have devil's luck.
:
01:37:07,724 --> 01:37:08,605
That's true.
:
01:37:08,605 --> 01:37:09,625
That's true.
:
01:37:09,625 --> 01:37:14,646
I can always minimize the damage though if I need to, so I'll can you?
:
01:37:14,646 --> 01:37:15,528
I'll keep it.
:
01:37:15,528 --> 01:37:17,729
Do you want to roll the damage or do you want me to?
:
01:37:17,729 --> 01:37:18,419
I'll go for it.
:
01:37:18,419 --> 01:37:19,149
Go for it.
:
01:37:19,149 --> 01:37:21,150
I rolled a one while you're doing that.
:
01:37:21,150 --> 01:37:22,511
Alright, first one's fine.
:
01:37:22,511 --> 01:37:23,131
Great.
:
01:37:23,131 --> 01:37:25,584
Yeah, it hits you and
:
01:37:25,584 --> 01:37:29,847
You feel strange as this thing has connected with you.
:
01:37:29,847 --> 01:37:33,169
Can you make a presence roll?
:
01:37:33,169 --> 01:37:34,850
Brother?
:
01:37:36,932 --> 01:37:39,514
okay, so I I that is a zero.
:
01:37:39,514 --> 01:37:43,116
It is not a natural one, but it is a zero total.
:
01:37:43,116 --> 01:37:46,158
What what's your minus to presence two?
:
01:37:46,418 --> 01:37:46,599
my god.
:
01:37:46,599 --> 01:37:48,040
Roll me a D six?
:
01:37:48,040 --> 01:37:49,940
Brother.
:
01:37:51,312 --> 01:37:53,483
he's not a smart Scrags.
:
01:37:53,483 --> 01:37:53,734
One.
:
01:37:53,734 --> 01:37:54,842
Okay.
:
01:37:54,842 --> 01:38:01,775
Everybody except for Isabelle, you see Scraggs get hit by this tentacle and then phase out
of reality.
:
01:38:01,775 --> 01:38:07,777
Scraggs, you appear one thousand feet in the air.
:
01:38:07,777 --> 01:38:08,257
No.
:
01:38:08,257 --> 01:38:10,028
Yeah, yeah.
:
01:38:10,838 --> 01:38:13,740
In fact you appear Look at the map.
:
01:38:13,740 --> 01:38:16,641
There is a ziggurat pyramid.
:
01:38:16,641 --> 01:38:19,902
You appear at the top of that.
:
01:38:19,902 --> 01:38:24,284
And you're like You do still have the water floaty stuff, don't you?
:
01:38:24,614 --> 01:38:25,704
Or did that go away?
:
01:38:25,704 --> 01:38:26,224
Yeah, yeah.
:
01:38:26,224 --> 01:38:28,534
No, that's it's been seven minutes, I assume.
:
01:38:28,534 --> 01:38:28,985
damn it.
:
01:38:28,985 --> 01:38:29,445
Damn it.
:
01:38:29,445 --> 01:38:30,106
Okay.
:
01:38:30,106 --> 01:38:30,966
Huh.
:
01:38:31,686 --> 01:38:35,387
He's looking around with his machete on top of this ziggurat.
:
01:38:35,387 --> 01:38:37,888
It is back to you guys.
:
01:38:37,888 --> 01:38:42,249
Oh shit, I was hoping it would take more than a round to eat scrags.
:
01:38:42,399 --> 01:38:42,699
fuck.
:
01:38:42,699 --> 01:38:47,710
I'm gonna spend an action to reload my leg.
:
01:38:47,830 --> 01:38:48,571
Great.
:
01:38:48,571 --> 01:38:49,681
Okay.
:
01:38:49,681 --> 01:38:50,091
Who's next?
:
01:38:50,091 --> 01:38:50,751
Cover me.
:
01:38:50,751 --> 01:38:53,564
Uh Isabel is
:
01:38:53,564 --> 01:38:59,748
Has her back to the obelisk and is like frantically jamming powder and wad into guns.
:
01:38:59,748 --> 01:39:07,043
Are there any obviously deceased corpses in the water?
:
01:39:07,043 --> 01:39:08,144
Ooh.
:
01:39:08,144 --> 01:39:10,006
Opportunistic.
:
01:39:10,006 --> 01:39:15,199
Did we bring the the cut up merman into the with us?
:
01:39:15,199 --> 01:39:16,944
That would have been good.
:
01:39:17,121 --> 01:39:19,332
I would notice how much he looks like scrags.
:
01:39:19,332 --> 01:39:20,482
Exactly.
:
01:39:22,982 --> 01:39:25,434
I will let you use one of your devil's luck.
:
01:39:25,434 --> 01:39:27,415
I will be doing that.
:
01:39:27,415 --> 01:39:28,056
Yeah.
:
01:39:28,056 --> 01:39:35,992
And I have one brave soul who lost his life squaring up against this thing, wants to go
straight back to it.
:
01:39:35,992 --> 01:39:43,088
And he is going to do so in death for as to take the ire of its focus.
:
01:39:43,088 --> 01:39:43,678
Great.
:
01:39:43,678 --> 01:39:45,429
So below.
:
01:39:45,450 --> 01:39:48,832
A drowned body comes out.
:
01:39:48,930 --> 01:39:56,463
And he is wearing a tricor hat and is rotten and full of kelp and salt water.
:
01:39:56,463 --> 01:40:03,746
His skull starts leaking out all the seawater as it climbs up over and is look.
:
01:40:06,267 --> 01:40:13,190
And so a drowned you do you have stats for your undead or I barely.
:
01:40:13,190 --> 01:40:16,321
I know that it is attacking for a D4.
:
01:40:16,321 --> 01:40:18,872
There is not much more to know than that.
:
01:40:18,994 --> 01:40:19,404
Okay.
:
01:40:19,404 --> 01:40:20,825
The HP is four.
:
01:40:20,825 --> 01:40:21,755
Okay, that's fine.
:
01:40:21,755 --> 01:40:22,866
Yeah, just keep that.
:
01:40:22,866 --> 01:40:23,986
So Yeah.
:
01:40:23,986 --> 01:40:24,866
Yeah.
:
01:40:25,066 --> 01:40:30,328
And then it says in undeath.
:
01:40:30,729 --> 01:40:31,149
hey.
:
01:40:31,149 --> 01:40:33,930
Scra no, Scrags' thing does not light up.
:
01:40:34,050 --> 01:40:38,912
Scra It's just thinking it on And so can it attack on your first turn?
:
01:40:38,912 --> 01:40:40,733
I have no idea how these are rules.
:
01:40:40,733 --> 01:40:41,173
Yeah.
:
01:40:41,173 --> 01:40:43,154
Let's make it let's give let it attack.
:
01:40:43,154 --> 01:40:45,215
It's fucking attacking.
:
01:40:45,215 --> 01:40:47,075
Here we go.
:
01:40:47,075 --> 01:40:49,196
When it rolls it rolls a four.
:
01:40:49,352 --> 01:40:50,973
It's not so good.
:
01:40:51,073 --> 01:40:56,415
It just gets out of the water and falls on this thing.
:
01:40:56,415 --> 01:41:00,157
As it wails, it's Sibatara around his head.
:
01:41:00,157 --> 01:41:02,768
m Yeah, not so good.
:
01:41:02,768 --> 01:41:06,039
Uh and that's salt or scrags.
:
01:41:06,039 --> 01:41:07,220
What do you want to do?
:
01:41:07,220 --> 01:41:08,560
Get swimming.
:
01:41:08,560 --> 01:41:10,641
He starts to climb down the rides.
:
01:41:10,641 --> 01:41:11,021
Yeah.
:
01:41:11,021 --> 01:41:17,720
ah
:
01:41:17,720 --> 01:41:24,844
It is covered in that inky material and you yeah, can climb you can start climbing down.
:
01:41:24,844 --> 01:41:29,067
Yeah, I assume there's not like a a treasure chest on the top of this or whatever.
:
01:41:29,067 --> 01:41:34,410
You'd hate to have to, you know, come back for the one hundred percent where you have to
climb up it again.
:
01:41:34,790 --> 01:41:38,980
Okay, roll me two D sixes and then give me the first and second.
:
01:41:38,980 --> 01:41:39,753
All right.
:
01:41:39,753 --> 01:41:41,564
Three and then five.
:
01:41:41,564 --> 01:41:42,895
Yeah.
:
01:41:42,895 --> 01:41:45,114
As you're climbing down.
:
01:41:45,114 --> 01:41:54,968
You feel something on your leg and you look down and a strange green cat looks up at you
and meows.
:
01:41:55,688 --> 01:41:56,769
Or cat.
:
01:41:56,769 --> 01:41:57,809
Yeah.
:
01:41:57,809 --> 01:42:05,393
As you say that, its tail that's sitting there wagging splits into seven other tails.
:
01:42:05,393 --> 01:42:09,674
And they kinda wiggle and cattail around.
:
01:42:09,674 --> 01:42:12,385
And it looks like there are two who are missing, so it used to have nine.
:
01:42:12,385 --> 01:42:13,616
Okay.
:
01:42:13,938 --> 01:42:15,988
Tell if you're a friendly thing.
:
01:42:15,988 --> 01:42:22,425
So I'll assume you are.
:
01:42:22,425 --> 01:42:23,016
Okay.
:
01:42:23,016 --> 01:42:29,741
He's hearing shouting from the obelisk and gunfire, and he's like, I'm not gonna get there
in time.
:
01:42:29,962 --> 01:42:34,565
So he just kind of parks it on the ziggurat starts fed in the kit.
:
01:42:34,565 --> 01:42:35,366
Yeah.
:
01:42:35,366 --> 01:42:39,750
Yeah, you're looking over and you can see you're like, Okay.
:
01:42:39,750 --> 01:42:42,842
And it is our creature's turn.
:
01:42:42,892 --> 01:42:44,813
It goes for the zombie.
:
01:42:44,813 --> 01:42:49,196
What's the agil go ahead and roll a D twelve the beta for your zombie?
:
01:42:49,196 --> 01:42:50,916
It's a CX.
:
01:42:50,956 --> 01:42:51,637
Okay.
:
01:42:51,637 --> 01:42:52,377
Yeah.
:
01:42:52,377 --> 01:42:55,469
This thing easily just grabs it as it's standing there.
:
01:42:55,469 --> 01:42:58,460
Does it have any armor?
:
01:42:58,601 --> 01:43:00,681
Why would you think it does?
:
01:43:01,042 --> 01:43:01,882
Three?
:
01:43:01,882 --> 01:43:05,544
Well, that's less than four or six five.
:
01:43:05,544 --> 01:43:12,610
Yeah, it starts to it sticks its tendrils around it and then they try to go inside of it
in
:
01:43:12,610 --> 01:43:16,881
his back through some of the rotten flesh to get better hold.
:
01:43:16,881 --> 01:43:18,082
You guys have reloaded.
:
01:43:18,082 --> 01:43:19,060
It is your turn.
:
01:43:19,060 --> 01:43:19,561
Right.
:
01:43:19,561 --> 01:43:29,805
I don't really like my chances here, so I'm gonna plop down on my ass and like just really
aim the old planet Terra leg.
:
01:43:29,805 --> 01:43:35,747
And um I am going to go ahead and roll presents.
:
01:43:35,767 --> 01:43:36,647
Yep.
:
01:43:36,647 --> 01:43:39,168
And that's a 23
:
01:43:39,412 --> 01:43:45,456
And I am going to use a devil's luck for max damage for yes.
:
01:43:45,456 --> 01:43:46,276
What is it?
:
01:43:46,276 --> 01:43:48,517
Uh 12 damage total.
:
01:43:48,517 --> 01:43:49,518
Damn.
:
01:43:49,518 --> 01:43:50,218
Okay.
:
01:43:50,218 --> 01:43:51,099
Yeah.
:
01:43:51,099 --> 01:43:52,640
How do you finish this thing?
:
01:43:52,640 --> 01:44:03,956
Well, I I was hoping that it would get distracted and eat on scrags because you can say
that if you have high enough presence, that it's eaten through the skellington on the
:
01:44:03,956 --> 01:44:07,770
inside, so it needs to pull the ama back.
:
01:44:07,770 --> 01:44:09,071
And then consume.
:
01:44:09,071 --> 01:44:13,985
So I'm waiting till it's just chowing down on this big stinky fucker.
:
01:44:13,985 --> 01:44:20,651
And at that point, as it's taking another bite, I take a shot through it into its ugly
fucking skull.
:
01:44:20,651 --> 01:44:22,912
Yeah, it's It'll look real good as a necklace.
:
01:44:22,912 --> 01:44:33,121
It does that and it the gelatinous part starts to melt off of it and just these strange
translucent bones are there.
:
01:44:33,121 --> 01:44:36,623
And you start to see some of the things it ate as well.
:
01:44:36,623 --> 01:44:37,638
Can you roll me?
:
01:44:37,638 --> 01:44:39,889
Two D6s.
:
01:44:39,889 --> 01:44:41,490
Rosan.
:
01:44:41,680 --> 01:44:43,239
man, I don't know if that's good or bad.
:
01:44:43,239 --> 01:44:44,711
A one and a two.
:
01:44:45,312 --> 01:44:46,012
Yeah.
:
01:44:46,012 --> 01:44:53,515
You one of them is this small tablet covered in symbols that's like this big.
:
01:44:53,515 --> 01:44:55,556
Like a like a pocket tablet.
:
01:44:55,556 --> 01:44:57,957
And a moleskin tablet.
:
01:44:57,957 --> 01:44:58,818
Yeah, yeah.
:
01:44:58,818 --> 01:44:59,498
Yeah.
:
01:44:59,498 --> 01:45:00,999
And it is.
:
01:45:00,999 --> 01:45:02,069
Do you want to try to read it?
:
01:45:02,069 --> 01:45:03,340
Yeah, sure.
:
01:45:03,340 --> 01:45:03,790
I mean
:
01:45:03,790 --> 01:45:06,931
My book got wet when I pissed myself there, so sure.
:
01:45:06,931 --> 01:45:08,581
Let's see how this tablet goes.
:
01:45:08,581 --> 01:45:09,362
Okay.
:
01:45:09,362 --> 01:45:14,863
Each day this tablet can cast one random arcane ritual.
:
01:45:14,863 --> 01:45:16,603
Do you have the PB book?
:
01:45:16,603 --> 01:45:18,194
Or I do not.
:
01:45:18,194 --> 01:45:18,924
Okay.
:
01:45:18,924 --> 01:45:22,505
So Actually, no, this is even better because I have no idea what it's gonna be.
:
01:45:22,505 --> 01:45:27,506
I'll just let you roll it and just narrate what happens when I hit the big red button.
:
01:45:27,506 --> 01:45:28,847
Target tablets.
:
01:45:28,847 --> 01:45:29,307
Yeah.
:
01:45:29,307 --> 01:45:32,008
I won't let you know what it is, but yeah, so I have it.
:
01:45:32,008 --> 01:45:33,760
Give me a
:
01:45:34,993 --> 01:45:36,594
I think it's a D twenty.
:
01:45:36,594 --> 01:45:37,164
Okay.
:
01:45:37,164 --> 01:45:38,715
Yeah, they're definitely a D twenty.
:
01:45:38,715 --> 01:45:39,005
Yeah.
:
01:45:39,005 --> 01:45:40,817
So uh all right.
:
01:45:40,817 --> 01:45:43,779
That is a ten, middle of the pack.
:
01:45:43,779 --> 01:45:45,580
What could go wrong?
:
01:45:45,880 --> 01:45:47,561
Maybe it'll give me crabs.
:
01:45:47,561 --> 01:45:50,533
I love how like the tank of the party now is the one hiding.
:
01:45:50,533 --> 01:45:53,305
So I'm the tank?
:
01:45:53,305 --> 01:45:54,216
Yeah, dude.
:
01:45:54,216 --> 01:45:55,746
You're covered in crabs.
:
01:45:56,407 --> 01:45:59,940
You've got basically one plus one D two damage resistance.
:
01:45:59,940 --> 01:46:03,772
Like you're in front, bro, till we can get Scrags back.
:
01:46:03,888 --> 01:46:06,109
Scra how much HP does Scrags have?
:
01:46:06,109 --> 01:46:06,989
A six.
:
01:46:06,989 --> 01:46:08,270
Yeah, but he's in three.
:
01:46:08,270 --> 01:46:08,930
Yeah.
:
01:46:08,930 --> 01:46:10,040
I am great.
:
01:46:10,040 --> 01:46:10,868
I have nine.
:
01:46:10,868 --> 01:46:13,602
I will I will start doing a better job.
:
01:46:13,602 --> 01:46:21,455
I happily send whatever lunk of the deep I have just conjured in front of you.
:
01:46:21,455 --> 01:46:23,556
Now we have a predicament.
:
01:46:23,616 --> 01:46:33,702
Hey you hear from across the water Hey I'm not dead I feel fine.
:
01:46:33,702 --> 01:46:36,073
Was there anything else in the jelly?
:
01:46:36,073 --> 01:46:38,133
No, just that little tablet.
:
01:46:38,133 --> 01:46:42,395
Was there anything else of interest at this uh three-part obelisk?
:
01:46:42,395 --> 01:46:44,205
Or shall we go retrieve the scrag?
:
01:46:44,205 --> 01:46:47,616
Yeah, I mean that's about it over here.
:
01:46:47,616 --> 01:46:50,557
Actually, did you find any loot?
:
01:46:50,557 --> 01:46:52,398
Babida, do you want this tablet?
:
01:46:52,398 --> 01:46:58,700
Not that I feel like it's going to horribly backfire, but you just always seem more
magically inclined.
:
01:46:59,104 --> 01:47:01,046
No no, you are in the roll of ten.
:
01:47:01,046 --> 01:47:03,348
I wouldn't dare to take it from you.
:
01:47:03,348 --> 01:47:06,311
Why do I feel like the deck stacked against me here?
:
01:47:06,311 --> 01:47:06,891
well.
:
01:47:06,891 --> 01:47:08,473
Must be my imagination.
:
01:47:08,473 --> 01:47:15,120
Yeah, are you so are you going to Scrags and picking him up or are you just getting on
land there?
:
01:47:15,120 --> 01:47:17,284
I guess we don't have much of a choice.
:
01:47:17,284 --> 01:47:19,954
I mean we could uh I mean I can swim.
:
01:47:19,954 --> 01:47:22,366
I can also just swim out to you.
:
01:47:22,366 --> 01:47:24,410
Like it's not a big deal.
:
01:47:24,410 --> 01:47:26,851
But if you're coming to the land anyways, yeah.
:
01:47:26,851 --> 01:47:27,131
Right.
:
01:47:27,131 --> 01:47:30,523
Thinking we are walking to the base of the ziggurat.
:
01:47:30,543 --> 01:47:32,074
I'll come down and meet you.
:
01:47:32,074 --> 01:47:33,965
There's no treasure up here.
:
01:47:33,965 --> 01:47:36,005
Just a little sweet pea.
:
01:47:36,346 --> 01:47:38,367
I think he paid himself.
:
01:47:40,168 --> 01:47:43,739
Yeah, you row and get to the ziggurat.
:
01:47:43,739 --> 01:47:49,312
It's a bit of a climb up a cliffside to get to the point where you can
:
01:47:49,404 --> 01:47:51,255
Get there and the cigarette's not that tall.
:
01:47:51,255 --> 01:48:04,942
It's pretty squat, especially in comparison to the giant temple behind you and some of the
strange they almost look like melted candles, but are buildings like in the distance as
:
01:48:04,942 --> 01:48:05,734
well.
:
01:48:05,734 --> 01:48:18,214
But you are all together now and Scrags has a seven-tailed cat with As we are walking
through the buildings in this area, are there any reactions to our presence?
:
01:48:18,214 --> 01:48:21,537
Any other beings that we have perceived on the way?
:
01:48:21,537 --> 01:48:28,182
Yeah, this this little area right here around the temple seems empty so far.
:
01:48:28,182 --> 01:48:35,718
I found the cat his name Sweet P He's he's living here, so this must be safe.
:
01:48:35,744 --> 01:48:42,109
Uh but the cats don't often take treasure, so there might still be treasure in the
ziggurat.
:
01:48:42,109 --> 01:48:44,710
Does it like you because you smell like fish?
:
01:48:44,711 --> 01:48:47,752
I don't question why the cat likes me.
:
01:48:48,473 --> 01:48:50,235
I just accept it.
:
01:48:50,235 --> 01:48:51,115
Yeah.
:
01:48:51,115 --> 01:48:57,820
Well, if we are here and you are perhaps smelling treasure, then perhaps we are going
inside for the sea.
:
01:48:57,820 --> 01:48:58,921
Yes.
:
01:48:58,961 --> 01:48:59,982
Get a torch.
:
01:48:59,982 --> 01:49:01,262
Okay.
:
01:49:01,603 --> 01:49:03,182
I am asking
:
01:49:03,182 --> 01:49:08,835
A clandestine corpse for to go before us into the ziggurat.
:
01:49:09,015 --> 01:49:09,956
Yeah.
:
01:49:09,956 --> 01:49:16,800
You send the corpse in and you can't see through his eyes or anything like that, like D
and D E.
:
01:49:16,800 --> 01:49:19,101
Why w Why would you assume so?
:
01:49:19,101 --> 01:49:23,083
Is this a some something you call a common denominate?
:
01:49:23,903 --> 01:49:25,564
You get yeah.
:
01:49:25,564 --> 01:49:30,727
After a while, about let's say ten minutes, the connection is severed.
:
01:49:30,727 --> 01:49:32,548
You feel that
:
01:49:32,634 --> 01:49:36,969
The corpse is no longer in your control.
:
01:49:36,969 --> 01:49:39,451
Oh he's super fucking dead.
:
01:49:39,552 --> 01:49:41,435
But it did take a while.
:
01:49:41,435 --> 01:49:42,726
I know you are waiting.
:
01:49:42,726 --> 01:49:44,688
We are waiting the same amount of time.
:
01:49:44,688 --> 01:49:47,661
He made it a pretty good way down.
:
01:49:48,283 --> 01:49:53,148
Now we know when we find the skeleton, that that's where the danger is.
:
01:49:54,168 --> 01:49:55,669
Sound reasoning to me.
:
01:49:55,669 --> 01:49:56,408
Let's go.
:
01:49:56,408 --> 01:49:58,950
So wait, you'd want to go in there?
:
01:49:58,950 --> 01:50:04,648
You just know you had internet connectivity issues with with your their zombo.
:
01:50:04,648 --> 01:50:07,513
Uh Well well it stands to reason.
:
01:50:07,513 --> 01:50:11,955
In an ancient pyramid, there's gonna be traps, right?
:
01:50:11,955 --> 01:50:15,256
And now there's one less trap to have to deal with.
:
01:50:15,256 --> 01:50:19,177
And you only put traps in your ancient pyramid if you stock it full of treasure first.
:
01:50:19,177 --> 01:50:24,207
Imagine oh Damn Hey.
:
01:50:24,207 --> 01:50:25,107
You going in?
:
01:50:25,107 --> 01:50:27,640
We've got at least ten minutes before we have to worry.
:
01:50:27,640 --> 01:50:28,990
Let's go.
:
01:50:31,753 --> 01:50:32,274
Yeah?
:
01:50:32,274 --> 01:50:40,549
Uh Isabel lights her one perenne candle that I rolled at character creation.
:
01:50:40,549 --> 01:50:41,882
I have four candles.
:
01:50:41,882 --> 01:50:42,292
Fuck you.
:
01:50:42,292 --> 01:50:43,683
You got a D4 on that?
:
01:50:43,683 --> 01:50:46,145
As long as you go for it.
:
01:50:46,145 --> 01:50:47,646
Go for it.
:
01:50:47,646 --> 01:50:49,728
Did we all roll candles?
:
01:50:49,728 --> 01:50:52,951
I have a candle and a pillow and a blanket and a dinghy.
:
01:50:52,951 --> 01:50:53,755
So like
:
01:50:53,755 --> 01:50:57,938
Alright, I have four candles and then that, so I'm just honks shooing my way through this.
:
01:50:58,099 --> 01:50:59,540
That's really funny.
:
01:50:59,540 --> 01:51:04,135
I got a satchel, a candle, and a bottle of fine rum.
:
01:51:04,135 --> 01:51:07,246
I I've got some hammer and nails.
:
01:51:07,246 --> 01:51:10,708
Then we need any any carpentry done.
:
01:51:11,139 --> 01:51:12,320
and a magnifying lens.
:
01:51:12,320 --> 01:51:13,811
Just the lens.
:
01:51:13,992 --> 01:51:14,872
Huh.
:
01:51:15,273 --> 01:51:18,816
Well, you can use that to start a fire if it weren't cloudy.
:
01:51:18,816 --> 01:51:19,897
You can?
:
01:51:19,897 --> 01:51:21,898
Well, if not here, you can't.
:
01:51:22,619 --> 01:51:23,333
Yes.
:
01:51:23,333 --> 01:51:31,246
Given as we are going underground in a great a stone lair, my spigas will probably not be
much use either.
:
01:51:31,246 --> 01:51:40,330
Yeah, Isabel walks in the front, keeping her eyes peeled for the she's assuming like maybe
a guillotine blade trap.
:
01:51:40,330 --> 01:51:45,633
That's what she saw last time she was inside a a stepped pyramid.
:
01:51:45,633 --> 01:51:48,154
Ziggurat temple was one of those swinging blades.
:
01:51:48,154 --> 01:51:49,554
So she's Yeah.
:
01:51:49,554 --> 01:51:52,053
Is that why she doesn't have two feet?
:
01:51:52,053 --> 01:51:55,396
Uh no, actually.
:
01:51:55,396 --> 01:52:00,370
Let me tell you, when you forget to turn that home security off, boy, it'll get you.
:
01:52:00,370 --> 01:52:17,644
You go in through a tunnel, it is like barely two people wide and about eight feet tall,
and it goes to a center chamber that has some coffins around it, and you start to see that
:
01:52:17,644 --> 01:52:21,647
strange writing everywhere, and that black inky
:
01:52:21,817 --> 01:52:26,871
Liquid is covering the floor and you're stepping in it.
:
01:52:26,871 --> 01:52:31,495
And you hear actually give me a presence roll.
:
01:52:31,495 --> 01:52:35,709
Do I have to roll presents if it's touching my peg legs and not my people legs?
:
01:52:35,709 --> 01:52:36,750
Yeah.
:
01:52:36,750 --> 01:52:37,130
Yeah.
:
01:52:37,130 --> 01:52:39,342
Okay.
:
01:52:39,342 --> 01:52:39,845
That twenty.
:
01:52:39,845 --> 01:52:42,785
You said pr presence certainly.
:
01:52:42,785 --> 01:52:43,606
Nice.
:
01:52:43,606 --> 01:52:44,767
You won.
:
01:52:44,767 --> 01:52:46,348
Okay.
:
01:52:46,649 --> 01:52:48,050
Thank you, Ratskill.
:
01:52:48,050 --> 01:52:49,851
Ratskill, you
:
01:52:50,051 --> 01:52:52,692
I was wondering like what these guys are listening for.
:
01:52:52,692 --> 01:53:04,357
Babida is like talking to himself or something, just and you hear down a hallway, there
looks like there's some stairs that go down to another level.
:
01:53:04,357 --> 01:53:10,471
You hear some whispering and it's like they're trying to drag something.
:
01:53:10,471 --> 01:53:17,623
You hear and You can't pick any of it up, but
:
01:53:18,181 --> 01:53:19,902
There's definitely somebody else in here.
:
01:53:19,902 --> 01:53:20,492
Come on.
:
01:53:20,492 --> 01:53:21,353
Down there.
:
01:53:21,353 --> 01:53:26,636
I think they're dragging you never named your zombie, but I think that they're dragging
him away.
:
01:53:26,636 --> 01:53:29,857
I I can hear I can hear some fuckers down there.
:
01:53:29,857 --> 01:53:32,199
But if they have bodies, I am interested in bodies.
:
01:53:32,199 --> 01:53:33,399
There you go.
:
01:53:33,399 --> 01:53:35,380
You go first, absolutely.
:
01:53:35,380 --> 01:53:36,881
Okay, okay, okay.
:
01:53:36,881 --> 01:53:37,231
Yeah.
:
01:53:37,231 --> 01:53:40,443
And d making my way through the hallway.
:
01:53:40,443 --> 01:53:41,724
Gimme agility roles.
:
01:53:41,724 --> 01:53:44,165
Okay, you're liking this.
:
01:53:44,425 --> 01:53:46,506
This is going to be an eight.
:
01:53:46,607 --> 01:53:47,811
Seventeen.
:
01:53:47,811 --> 01:53:52,393
For everybody or anybody who's going, so if you want to stay quiet.
:
01:53:52,393 --> 01:53:55,314
And somehow fourteen.
:
01:53:55,774 --> 01:54:00,236
If you want to.
:
01:54:00,236 --> 01:54:03,598
Okay, I'm thinking perhaps I will be doing that.
:
01:54:03,598 --> 01:54:04,078
Yep.
:
01:54:04,078 --> 01:54:07,920
I'm tempted to use my last devil's luck, but this is also kind of funny.
:
01:54:07,920 --> 01:54:09,700
So What did you roll again?
:
01:54:09,700 --> 01:54:10,341
Sir.
:
01:54:10,341 --> 01:54:13,342
I rolled a a six, including my minus one.
:
01:54:13,342 --> 01:54:16,471
Because the downside about trying to sneak
:
01:54:16,471 --> 01:54:24,237
on stone steps, whenever your leg is a blunderbust, is that metal barrel sure does clank
every single I don't wanna hear it.
:
01:54:24,237 --> 01:54:24,827
I got two.
:
01:54:24,827 --> 01:54:28,970
Yeah, but neither of them have guns, are they?
:
01:54:28,970 --> 01:54:31,141
That sounds like skill issue.
:
01:54:31,141 --> 01:54:35,665
I'll save you the devil's luck, Babita, because you're all gonna be heard, right?
:
01:54:35,665 --> 01:54:39,688
So you hear them stop moving.
:
01:54:39,688 --> 01:54:41,008
Do you continue on?
:
01:54:41,008 --> 01:54:43,190
Yeah, I jump around the corner, guns blazing.
:
01:54:43,190 --> 01:54:44,571
Blazes fast.
:
01:54:45,455 --> 01:54:47,196
Yeah, go and roll initiative.
:
01:54:47,196 --> 01:54:48,076
Five.
:
01:54:48,076 --> 01:54:48,577
Great.
:
01:54:48,577 --> 01:54:49,197
Yeah.
:
01:54:49,197 --> 01:54:56,781
You jump down there and you see three pirates, one in a large captain hat with a huge
feather.
:
01:54:56,781 --> 01:54:58,162
It's black.
:
01:54:58,202 --> 01:55:00,223
And he jumps.
:
01:55:00,223 --> 01:55:02,985
When you jump down, he's like, holy shit.
:
01:55:02,985 --> 01:55:04,305
You gonna fire?
:
01:55:04,866 --> 01:55:06,026
Really tempting.
:
01:55:06,026 --> 01:55:06,606
Hands up.
:
01:55:06,606 --> 01:55:09,168
Uh where's our dead man?
:
01:55:09,168 --> 01:55:10,168
You see him on the ground.
:
01:55:10,168 --> 01:55:11,929
They were dragging him to a corner.
:
01:55:11,929 --> 01:55:13,250
That's our guy.
:
01:55:13,710 --> 01:55:14,611
I hidden.
:
01:55:14,611 --> 01:55:15,501
Uh-uh.
:
01:55:19,998 --> 01:55:22,107
Well I am requiring a replacement.
:
01:55:22,107 --> 01:55:24,740
Who do you offer among your number?
:
01:55:24,740 --> 01:55:28,142
Uh getting twitchy with that.
:
01:55:28,142 --> 01:55:32,665
Ma uh please, please, I am the captain of the Black Vengeance, Shondong Yak.
:
01:55:32,665 --> 01:55:34,215
Can you please?
:
01:55:34,215 --> 01:55:41,630
I I I'm trying to get out of here and whatever you you think this is is is not it.
:
01:55:41,630 --> 01:55:43,521
You have to escape the city.
:
01:55:50,469 --> 01:55:54,222
Thanks for listening to our first episode of The Sinking of Cathagan.

:
01:56:10,704 --> 01:56:12,225
Thanks again for listening.
